원자로 내부유동 예측을 위한 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어 성능 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of Commercial CFD Software Performance for Prediction of Reactor Internal Flow)

  • 전산유체역학 소프트웨어의 일부 개발자 및 사용자는 최신 전산유체역학 소프트웨어가 최소한 단상 원자로 안전문제는 타당하게 해석할 수 있을 것으로 생각하지만 계산 결과에는 여전히 제한성 및 불확실도가 존재한다. 현재 한국원자력안전기술원에서는 규제관점에서 원자로 안전문제에 대한 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어의 성능평가를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 축소 APR+ 원자로 내부유동 해석시다공성 모델을 적용한 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어의 예측 성능을 평가하기 위해 ANSYS CFX R.14 및 FLUENT R.14 에 탑재된 수치모델을 이용하여 계산을 수행하였다. 결론적으로 전산유체역학 소프트웨어에 따라 축소 APR+ 원자로 내부유동 분포는 국부적으로 차이가 발생하였다. 비록 제한된 수의 측정치로 인해 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어간 예측성능을 평가하기에는 다소 한계가 있으나 CFX R.14 가 FLUENT R.14 에 비해 상대적으로 타당한 예측결과를 제시하였다. 한편 적용된 차분법의 차이로 인해 동일한 격자에 대해 FLUENT R.14 가 CFX R.14 에 비해 상대적으로 많은 계산 메모리를 필요로 하였다. 따라서 대용량 병렬 계산시 가용한 계산 자원에 적합한 전산유체역학 소프트웨어가 선정되어야 한다.

발사체 해석을 위한 CFD 소프트웨어 적용 현황 (Present State of CFD Softwares Application for Launch Vehicle Analysis)

  • 발사체 분석을 위한 CFD 소프트웨어인 LVAFoam을 개발하기 앞서 발사체의 연소기, 터보 펌프 및 외부유동의 시뮬레이션에 사용된 해외의 인하우스 CFD 소프트웨어 및 상용 CFD 소프트웨어에 대한 조사를 수행하였다. 인하우스 소프트웨어로는 NASA, 미시시피 주립대학, DLR, Bertin Technologies & CNES, CERFACS 및 JAXA의 솔버들과, 상용 소프트웨어로는 FLUENT, CFX, Adavance/FrontFlow/red, GASP, CRUNCH CFD, CFD-ACE+, FINETM/Turbo, STAR-CCM+ 의 솔버들을 정리하였다. 발사체 분석을 위한 각 소프트웨어의 계산 사례가 제시되었으며, 개발된 LVAFoam이 간략하게 소개되었다.

내부 파티션을 갖는 단순확장관의 소음저감 및 배압특성의 전산해석 (Numerical Analysis of Noise Reduction and Back-pressure for a Simple Expansion Chamber with a Partition)

  • Mufflers have been widely used in the exhaust system to reduce the noise. However, installing muffler may deteriorate the efficiency due to the increase of back pressure. Mufflers usually consist of partition plates and perforated holes in a expansion chamber. In this paper, the influences of the location of the partition and hole on the acoustic TL and back pressure were examined. The acoustic TL was predicted using virtual lab commercial software, while the back pressure were predicted using CFX commercial software. The results were used to set up a database for finding their trends. The optimal muffler model in user-interested frequency range could be selected by analyzing this database.

  • The purpose of this study is focused on the analysis of 3D complex flow and performance characteristics of a centrifugal pump with volute casing. The numerical analysis was performed by commercial code CFX-10 according to the variation of flow rate, which is changing from 5.847$m^3$/min to 6.865$m^3$/min. The rated rotational speed of close type impeller is 1750rpm. Turbulence model, k-${\omega}$ SST was selected to guaranty more accurate prediction of flow separation. The ICEM-CFD 10, reliable grid generation software was also adapted to secure high quality grid generation necessary for the reliable numerical simulation. The experimental results such as static head, brake horse power and efficiency of the centrifugal pump were compared with the numerical analysis results. The simulated results are good agreement with the experimental results less 5$%$ error.

CFD 우수사례 지침을 적용한 관 다발 주위의 난류유동 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Turbulent Flow around Tube Bundle by Applying CFD Best Practice Guideline)

  • 본 연구에서는 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어인 ANSYS CFX V.13을 사용하여 정상상태, 비압축성, 등온으로 가정된 엇갈림 관 다발 및 일렬 관 다발 주위의 난류유동을 계산하였다. 계산 결과는 전산유체역학 우수사례 지침에 근거하여 격자크기, 대류항 차분법의 정확도 및 난류모델에 대한 민감도 연구에 활용되었고 실험 결과와 정량적으로 비교함으로써 우수사례 지침의 적용성을 평가하였다. 결론적으로 전산유체역학 우수사례 지침이 관 다발 유동 분야에서 상용 전산유체역학 소프트웨어의 예측성능 향상을 반드시 보증하지 않음을 확인하였다.

원심압축기 벌류트 내부의 스월 유동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Calculation of the Swirling Flow in a Centrifugal Compressor Volute)

  • Flows in the centrifugal compressor volute with circular cross section are numerically investigated. The computational grid for the calculation utilized a multi-block arrangement to form a butterfly grid and flow calculations are performed using commercial CFD software, CFX-TASCflow. The centrifugal compressor of this study has axial diffuser after radial diffuser because of the shape of inlet duct and installation constraints. Due to this feature the swirling flow pattern is different from the other investigations. The flow inside volute is very complex and three dimensional with strong vortex and recirculation through volute tongue. The calculation results show circumferential variations of the swirl and through flow velocity and pressure distribution. The mechanism deciding flow structure is explained by considering the force balance in volute cross section. And static pressure recovery and total pressure loss are estimated from the calculated results and compared with Japikse model.

Study of the Fluid Flow on Proportional Valve in Spool Displacement using CFD

  • The main objective of this work is to estimate the fluid flow of a proportional valve. The study is based on the classical compressible flow theory and the computations with the help of CFD based commercial software - ANSYS CFX. The fluid flow with the movement of spool along the sleeve is simulated. To change the spool moving from 0.4mm to 2.0mm, the moving mesh method with different condition of orifice is considered here. The results show that it is the highest at the 80 % (1.6mm) opening and at the 20 % (0.4mm) opening, is the lowest.

도시철도 객실 공기질 평가모델 개발 (Development of Air Quality Assessment Model for Subway Cabin)

  • Management of indoor air quality of underground subway station is an important issue since the limited natural ventilation, limited sunshine incoming, and highly moistured atmosphere. The improvement in IAQ of platform is expected because most stations were installed with platform screen door currently, however, the poor air quality in tunnel might be affecting subway cabin indoor. In this study, we developed the air quality assessment model based on computational fluid dynamics. The geometry of air ventilation unit, seat, LCD monitors, and passengers were modeled using commercial software (Design Modeler) and fluid pattern and pollutants trajectories were analyzed by using CFX. We predicted the thermal comfort by predicted mean vote (PMV), distribution of CO2 and PM10 concentration. It is expected that this model can be used for the performance test of air cleaners which are under development.

무용제 도료용 무화 분사시스템 개발(I) - 유압 엑츄에이터의 유동해석 - (Development of Atomization Spraying System for Solvent-free Paint(I) - Flow Analysis of Hydraulic Actuator -)

  • The purpose of this paper is to design a hydraulic actuator to operate under high pressure conditions. The flow characteristics under design conditions of hydraulic actuator were numerically conducted by commercial fluid dynamic code(ANSYS CFX V11). The numerical analysis was performed by transient technique according to the variation of stroke times, which was changed from 0 to 1 second by interval of 0.01. Turbulence model, $k-\omega$ SST was selected to secure more accurate prediction of hydraulic oil flow. The ICEM-CFD 11 and CFXMesher, reliable grid generation software was also adapted to secure high quality grid necessary for the reliable analysis. According to the simulation results, the flow rate which was supplied to the hydraulic actuator was 30.4l/min. These results are in good agreement with design results within 3.5% error.

유체-구조 연성해석 기법을 이용한 소형 터보차저 건전성 향상 연구 (Improvement of the Structural Soundness of a Small-Sized Turbocharger Using Fluid-Structural Interaction Analysis)

  • A small-sized turbocharger is generally used in downsizing engine for various vehicles. When a centrifugal compressor, which is one of the crucial units of the turbocharger, is downsized, the compressor has much more possibilities of being damaged because of its high rotating speed, causing insecure structural soundness. Thus, it is of essential to study on the improvement of the structural soundness of a small-sized turbocharger. In this study, numerical analysis on the various blade geometries and mass flow rate of the compressor was performed using the commercial software ANSYS CFX. In addition, the evaluation on the structural soundness of a compressor impeller for respective cases was conducted using ANSYS Mechanical. As a result, it was shown that the compressor had higher efficiency with increasingly secured structural soundness.
