Radiation has been an effective tool for treating cancer for a long time. Radiation therapy induces DNA damage within cancer cells and destroys their ability to reproduce. Radiation therapy is often combined with other treatments, like surgery and chemotherapy. Here, we describe the effects of radiation and histone deacetylase inhibitor, Trichostain A, on cell cycle regulation in hepatoma cells. The combinatorial treatment of radiation and Trichostain A induced cell cycle arrest and thereby increasing the hepatoma cell death. Furthermore, the regulatory effects of radiation and Trichostatin A on cell cycle applied in cell type specifically. These results suggest that the treatment of radiation and Trichostatin A may play a central role in hepatoma cell death and might be a good remedy to improve the efficiency of radiation therapy.

Breast cancer primary prevention is a high research priority due to the high psychological and economic costs. The disease is a multistep process and several risk factors have been recognized. Over the past three decades numerous studies have investigated the association of lifestyle with breast cancer, showing independent effects of various factors. We report here a summary of the present state of knowledge on the role of lifestyle patterns, such as physical activity, diet, smoking, hormone therapy, and experience of psychological stress in the modulation of breast cancer in women, and discuss commonly accepted biological mechanisms hypothesized as responsible for the associations. The findings indicate that regular physical activity of moderate to vigorous intensity is probably linked with the decreased breast cancer risk among postmenopausal females and suggestive for a decrease of the risk in premenopausal women. In contrast, the consumption of high-fat diet, alcohol intake, and use of combined estrogen and synthetic progestagen hormonal therapy may increase the risk. Epidemiological findings dealing with a role of smoking and experience of psychological stress are conflicting.

Objectives: Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in dysarthria with dystonia cases. Methods: Two dysarthria with dystonia cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and clinical observations. Results: The patients showed positive changes even after the initial treatment and this effect maintained over the follow-up period. Conclusions: Although it is not clear the effect is a sustaining or temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

Objectives : Therapeutic effect of Balance Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in a refractory torticollis case. Methods : A post-traumatic severe torticollis case with 18 years of duration was managed by the Balance Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture and manual medicine. Results : Assessment was made by self assessment of subjective symptoms and clinical observacon. The patient reported over-90% remission and returned to ordinary daily life after 20months of therapy, which effect was reported to maintain for 9 months. Conclusions : An impressive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

Odontogenic maxillofacial space abscess in childeren was treated by the surgcal intervention combined with antiboitic therapy. Followings are the results after monitoring its progression. 1. Maxillofascial space abscess is mainly from the odontogenic infection and it may result in the severe states with the various fascial spaces and their relatives. So their early detection and treatment are needed. 2. The most common symptom in patients was the pain under palpation with painful swelling and the mouth floor elevation was observed in the sublingual space abscess. 3. In most cases, for its treatment, symptomatic therapy, antibiotic therapy, surgical incision and drainage were executed. If the infected tooth is possibly conserved, endodontic treatment is preferred, otherwise, it will be extracted as soon as possible.
