결합 신경망을 이용한 여권 MRZ 정보 인식 (Recognition of Passport MRZ Information Using Combined Neural Networks)

  • In case of reading passport using a smart phone in contrast with a dedicated passport reading system, MRZ(Machine Readable Zone) character recognition can be hard when the character strokes were broken, touched or blurred according to the lighting condition, and the position and size of MRZ character lines were varied due to the camera distance and angle. In this paper, the effective recognition algorithm of the passport MRZ information using a combined neural network recognizer of CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) and ANN( Artificial Neural Network), is proposed under the various sized and skewed passport images. The MRZ line detection using connected component analysis algorithm and the skew correction using perspective transform algorithm are also designed in order to achieve effective character segmentation results. Each of the MRZ field recognition results is verified by using five check digits for deciding whether retrying the recognition process of passport MRZ information or not. After we implement the proposed recognition algorithm of passport MRZ information, the excellent recognition performance of the passport MRZ information was obtained in the experimental results for PC off-line mode and smart phone on-line mode.

  • Scheduling is an important tool for a manufacturing system, where it can have a major impact on the productivity of a production process. In manufacturing systems, the purpose of scheduling is to minimize the production time and costs, by assigning a production facility when to make, with which staff, and on which equipment. Production scheduling aims to maximize the efficiency of the operation and reduce the costs. In order to find an optimal solution to manufacturing scheduling problems, it attempts to solve complex combinatorial optimization problems. Unfortunately, most of them fall into the class of NP-hard combinatorial problems. Genetic algorithm (GA) is one of the generic population-based metaheuristic optimization algorithms and the best one for finding a satisfactory solution in an acceptable time for the NP-hard scheduling problems. GA is the most popular type of evolutionary algorithm. In this survey paper, we address firstly multiobjective hybrid GA combined with adaptive fuzzy logic controller which gives fitness assignment mechanism and performance measures for solving multiple objective optimization problems, and four crucial issues in the manufacturing scheduling including a mathematical model, GA-based solution method and case study in flexible job-shop scheduling problem (fJSP), automatic guided vehicle (AGV) dispatching models in flexible manufacturing system (FMS) combined with priority-based GA, recent advanced planning and scheduling (APS) models and integrated systems for manufacturing.

  • Investment scenarios in the transportation network design problem usually contain installation or expansion of multi-mode transportation links. When one applies the mode choice analysis and traffic assignment sequentially for each investment scenario, it is possible that the travel impedance used in the mode choice analysis is different from the user equilibrium cost of the traffic assignment step. Therefore, to estimate the travel impedance and mode choice accurately, one needs to develop a combined model for the mode choice and traffic assignment. In this paper, we derive the inverse demand and the excess demand functions for the multi-mode multinomial logit mode choice function and develop a combined model for the multi-mode variable demand traffic assignment problem. Using data from the regional O/D and network data provided by the KTDB, we compared the performance of the partial linearization algorithm with the Frank-Wolfe algorithm applied to the excess demand model and with the sequential heuristic procedures.

NSGA-II Technique for Multi-objective Generation Dispatch of Thermal Generators with Nonsmooth Fuel Cost Functions

  • Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) is applied for solving Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem with valve-point loading of thermal generators. This CEED problem with valve-point loading is a nonlinear, constrained multi-objective optimization problem, with power balance and generator capacity constraints. The valve-point loading introduce ripples in the input-output characteristics of generating units and make the CEED problem as a nonsmooth optimization problem. To validate its effectiveness of NSGA-II, two benchmark test systems, IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems are considered. To compare the Pareto-front obtained using NSGA-II, reference Pareto-front is generated using multiple runs of Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) with weighted sum of objectives. Comparison with other optimization techniques showed the superiority of the NSGA-II approach and confirmed its potential for solving the CEED problem. Numerical results show that NSGA-II algorithm can provide Pareto-front in a single run with good diversity and convergence. An approach based on Technique for Ordering Preferences by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is applied on non-dominated solutions obtained to determine Best Compromise Solution (BCS).

복합 영상 잡음 환경에서 변형된 퍼지가중치 및 결합가중치를 사용한 디지털 스위칭 필터 알고리즘 (Digital Switching Filter Algorithm using Modified Fuzzy Weights and Combined Weights in Mixed Image Noise Environment)

  • 현대 사회는 4차 산업혁명의 영향에 의해 다양한 디지털 통신 장비가 사용되고 있다. 이에 따라 데이터 전송 과정에서 발생하는 잡음제거에 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 효율적으로 영상을 복원하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 복합적인 잡음에 훼손된 영상을 복원하는데 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 잡음의 특징에 따라 효과적으로 영상을 복원하는 디지털 필터가 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 영상 전송 과정에서 발생하는 복합잡음을 제거하기 위한 디지털 스위칭 필터 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 잡음판단을 통해 필터링 과정을 스위칭하며 마스크 내부의 화소값들을 기준으로 퍼지가중치 및 결합가중치를 사용하여 영상을 복원한다. 제안한 알고리즘을 평가하기 위해 기존 필터 알고리즘들과 시뮬레이션을 통하여 비교하였다. 시각적인 평가를 위해 필터링 결과를 확대하여 비교하였으며, 정량적인 평가를 위해 PSNR 비교를 사용하여 분석하였다.

결합된 음향학적 반향 및 배경 잡음 전력에 기반한 새로운 통합 제거 알고리즘 (A New Integrated Suppression Algorithm Based on Combined Power of Acoustic Echo and Background Noise)

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 영역에서 결합된 음향학적 반향 및 배경 잡음 전력에 기반한 효과적인 새로운 통합 제거 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 반향 제거기와 배경잡음 제거기가 직렬로 연결되어 각각의 제거필터에 의해 처리되는 기존의 방법 대신에 원단 (far-end) 신호에 기반한 기중치 파라미터를 이용하여 반향 및 배경잡음 전력을 선별적으로 결합하고 결합된 신호를 하나에 제거 필터에 적용하여 두 신호를 모두 제거한다. 따라서 제안된 기법에서는 기존의 반향 및 잡음 제거기의 연결 순서에 의해 발생되는 단점을 보완하고 잔여반향신호를 효과적으로 제거할수 있도록 한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 기존의 방법과 객관적인 실험을 통해 비교 평가한 결과 다양한 테스트 환경에서 기존의 방법에 비해 전반적으로 우수한 성능을 보였다.

GA와 SA 알고리듬의 조합을 이용한 최적의 BPCGH의 설계 (Design of optimal BPCGH using combination of GA and SA Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 패턴생성을 위한 최적의 이진 위상 컴퓨터형성 홀로그램을 설계하기 위해 합성된 SA알고리듬 및 유전 알고리듬을 이용하였다. 제안된 방법의 탐색과정에서 sGA를 사용하여 BPCGH를 생성하고. 결과 홀로그램 패턴을 SA 알고리듬의 초기 랜덤 투과함수로 이용하여 최적의 BPCGH를 설계하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에서 독립적으로 사용된 SA 알고리듬과 유전 알고리듬을 비교한 결과 제안한 알고리듬이 회절 효율이 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

병렬라인 검사공정의 작업배분을 위한 휴리스틱 알고리즘의 성능 개선 (Performance improvement of heuristic algorithm to assign job in parallel line inspection process)

  • In this paper, we raised the performance of heuristic algorithm to assign job to workers in parallel line inspection process without sequence. In previous research, we developed the heuristic algorithm. But the heuristic algorithm can't find optimal solution perfectly. In order to solve this problem, we proposed new method to make initial solution called FN(First Next) method and combined the new FN method and old FE method using previous heuristic algorithm. Experiments of assigning job are performed to evaluate performance of this FE+FN heuristic algorithm. The result shows that the FE+FN heuristic algorithm can find the optimal solution to assign job to workers evenly in many type of cases. Especially, in case there are optimal solutions, this heuristic algorithm can find the optimal solution perfectly.

  • It is known that SOFM has the property of effectively creating topographically the organized map of various features on input signals, SOFM can effectively be applied to the recognition of Korean phonemes. However, is isn't guaranteed that the network is sufficiently learned in SOFM algorithm. In order to solve this problem, we propose the learning algorithm combined with the conventional K-means clustering algorithm in fine-tuning stage. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, we performed speaker dependent recognition experiment using six phoneme classes. Comparing the performances of the Kohonen's algorithm with a proposed algorithm, we prove that the proposed algorithm is better than the conventional SOFM algorithm.

  • A principle for the determination of reel stagger, based on reel kinematics and crop stem deflection , is proposed. Equation derived theoretically and information obtained empirically are combined to obtain an algorithm for the determination of reel stagger. The algorithm has yet to be evaluated on actual combine harvesters in the harvesting mode.
