A Longitudinal Study on Consumer Satisfaction in Clothing Product -With Reference to Satisfaction at the Point of Purchase and Satisfaction in Wearing- (의복제품에 대한 소비자 만족의 종적연구 -구매시 만족과 사용시 만족을 중심으로-)

  • This thesis investigates influential attributes in clothing purchase through the examination of questionnaire concerning consumer satisfaction at the point of purchase, and clarifies the relationship between consumer satisfaction at the point of purchase and that in wearing. The results are as follows; 1. At interest stage, color, beauty, becomingness and suitability to occasion are influential (in this order): at trial stage, becomingess, color, others' reaction and fit: at adaption stage, color, becomingness, beauty, fit. 2. According to canonical analysis, consumer satisfaction at the point of purchase and that in wearing are closely related. (RCI = .97) It suggests that satisfaction in wearing depends largely on satisfaction at the point of purchase. 3. General satisfaction in wearing is closely related with such factors as predictive expecta-tion, satisfaction at the point of purchase, predictive disconfirmation, normative disconfirrna-tion, and product performance. According to repression results, those factors can explain $79\%$ of satisfaction ill wearing (R = .79). Above all, product performance and normative disconfirmation are highly influential.

  • Color providing compounds on image transfer process in color photo graphy was studied with polaroid and Kodak products as a model. These compounds was inititally alkali-mobile or alkali-immobile. Alkali-mobile compunds require imagewise immobilifation in the process or alkali immoble compounds require mobilization by the cleavage reaction. As a result of studies, the polaroid products was showed alkali mobile and Kodak product represented alkali immobile.

A Study of Ozone Passive Sampler(I)-Sensitivity on Filter Substrate (오존 간이측정기에 대한 연구(I)-필터의 민감도)

  • Six types of ozone passive samplers were fabricated with three different filter substrates and two colorants, and tested for their feasibility on atmospheric monitoring. These passive samplers are based on a colorant which fades (indigo carmine and ChromAir (K&M environmental Inc.)) or produces color (mixture of 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone acetone azine and 2-phenylphenol colorant) upon reaction with ozone, whose concentration can be determined by reflectance measurement of the color change. Three filters, namely Whatman No.1 paper, SG81 chromatography paper and Silica Gel coated on polyester (TLC Plates), were prepared and coated with two colorants. The response of these passive samplers in ozone chamber were tested and compared with ChromAir (K&M environmental Inc.) passive sampler. The response of Silica Gel filter impregnated with indigo carmine was the best at the constant concentration exposure.

  • Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is the causative agent of chronic gastritis and the single most important factor in peptic ulcer disease, however, the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying H, pylori infection are not well understood. Futhermore, there is a strong association between H. pylori infection and gastric cancer. Various diagnostic methods for detecting H. pylori infection are available. These can be divided into invasive methods, requiring endoscopy, and non-invasive tests, mainly 13C-urea breath tests and serologic detection of antibodies. Rapid urease test is the most recommendable endoscopic test for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection, presently. CLO test kit is the represent of rapid urease test kits. The principles of CLO test kit is that hydrolysis of urea by urease Is detected by a dye indicators showing a color change. Our device is used same principle but we improved the reaction time is more faster and positive color change is more distinctive from the color of the negative specimen. So, this kit is more reliable because it response faster and accuracy.

  • Nitrogen ion with various levels of dose and irradiation energy was irradiated on aluminum surfaces. Contact angle of surface was increased and surface color was changed by nitrogen ion implantation. During steam condensation experiment using nitrogen ion implanted specimen, dropwise condensation initially occurred on specimens. However, condensation mode eventually changed into filmwise condensation. The color of the surface was also changed from yellow-brown to silver-white. This change of surface color and condensation mode were results of hydrolysis reaction between condensate and nitrogen ion implanted on aluminum surfaces.

Application of Electrochemical Method for Decolorization of Biologically Treated Animal Wastewater Effluent (생물학적 축산폐수 처리수 색도제거를 위한 전기화학적 방법의 적용)

  • This research was conducted to clarify the characteristics of electrochemical decolorization of effluent discharged from a biological animal wastewater treatment process and to finally establish parameters or mode for optimum operation of electrolysis system. Average color unit of wastewater was about 1,200 and DSA(Dimensionally Stable Anode) was used as electrode. Experiments were performed with two different operation conditions or modes, fixed voltage-free current(Run A) and free voltage-fixed current(Run B). Color removal rate was proportional to the electrode area and electrical conductivity, and an equation subject to them at a condition of fixed voltage was derived as follows; Ct=C0ekt, k=[{0.0121×a(dm2)× c(mS/cm)}+0.0288], [where, C0: initial color, Ct: color unit after treatment for t, k: reaction coefficient, t: time(min.), a: electrode area, c: conductivity]. From the study on the effects of current density on color removal, it was revealed that the removal efficiency of color was function of the current density, showing direct proportion. However, when considered energy consumption rate, maintenance of low current density was an economical way. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that supplementation of electrolyte is not necessary for the removal of color from the effluent of secondary treatment process and operation with the mode of free voltage-fixed current, rather than operation with fixed voltage-free current mode, would be an efficient way to increase the removal performance and capacity per consumed energy.

Effect of Dye-Degrading Microbes' Augmentation on Microbial Ecosystem of the Fluidizing Media and Color Treatment in a Pilot Plant (염료 분해균 증대를 통한 Pilot Plant에서의 담체 내 미생물 생태와 색도처리에 미치는 영향)

  • In a pilot-scale dyeing wastewater treatment using two-type fluidizing media, each thickness of biofilm was 15 and 30 ${\mu}m$, respectively. The numbers of protozoa inhabited in small-size (PEMT A) and big-size (PEMT B) media were $7.5{\times}10^4$ and $1.25{\times}10^5$ cells/ml, respectively, and dominant species were Entosiphon sulcatus var sulcatus in PEMT A and Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in PEMT B, respectively. Flask experiments using the two media revealed that the percentages of color removal were 25.8% in PEMT A and 27.1% in PEMT B after 72-h cultivation, indicating the necessity of bioaugmentation. Experiments for bioaugmentation effect on color removal were carried out in the pilot-scale treatment for 75 d by three-step operation under the control of wastewater loading rate and microbial input rate. Dye degradation occurred mainly in the second reaction tank, and the attachment of augmented dye-degrading microorganisms to media took at least 35 d. Final value of chromaticity in effluent was 227, meeting the required standard. Therefore bioaugmentation onto media was good for color treatment. In summary, thickness of biofilm formed on the media depended upon the size of media, resulting in different ecosystem inside the media. Hence, this affected microbial community and color treatment further. Accordingly, the reduction of operation cost is expected by efficient color-treatment process using bioaugmented media.

Antioxidative and Antimutagenic Characteristics of Melanoidin Related Products (Melanoidin의 항산화성 및 항돌연변이원성)

  • Melanoidins, as brown colored polymers, are formed through the diversified reaction systems of Maillard type and other reactions. Melanoidins are important components in relation to food quality and also are known to have antioxidative, mutagenic and antimutagenic activities. Since these aspects have been extensively reviwed elsewhere, only the recent studies regarding to their antioxidative and antimutagenic activities are discussed in this review. Even though their mechanisms are not clearly identified, melanoidins or specific fractions isolated from their mixtures have shown varied antioxidative activities depending on the reaction systems and reaction conditions. Those activities presumely are derived from the complex functional properties of hydrogen / electron donors and metal chelating power, which are originated from their reductone structure and others. It is considered that pyrolysate and other mutagens are formed by the given conditions in some cases during browning reaction, whereas melanoidins and their fractions have antimutagenic effects on chemical and other mutagens. There are positive correlationship among the color intensity, antioxidative activity and antimutagenicity of melanoidins or their fractions. These suggest that the antimutagenicity of melanoidins could be attributed to their antioxidative properties, however, it might also be due to other factors, because the relevant responses for antimutagenicity are very complicate and not clear. Accordingly, further studies are required to determine the actual acitivities and mechanisms involved in antioxidation and (anti)mutagenicity of melanoidins by reaction systems / conditions and by the isolated fractions. And also, additional studies are needed to evaluate the applications of melanoidins and their relevant effects to food and human health.

Inhibition of Enzymatic Browning of Taro (Colocasia antiquorum var. esculenta) by Maillard Reaction Products from Glycine and Glucose (Glycine과 Glucose의 Maillard Reaction Products에 의한 토란의 효소적 갈변 저해)

  • The inhibitory effect of MRPs (Maillard reaction products) on enzymatic browning of taro was investigated. The MRPs prepared by heating glycine and glucose at 9$0^{\circ}C$ for 7 hr exhibited a strong inhibitory effect on taro polyphenol oxidase (PPO). The maximum inhibitory activity of MRPs against taro PPO was detected toward (+)-catechin, catechol, 4-methylcatechol followed by L-$\beta$-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) and pyragallol as a substrate. The MRPs synthesized from fructose and glucose with glycine as a amino acid significantly reduced the taro PPO activity. MRPs prepared by higher glycine or glucose concentration showed stronger inhibition against taro PPO. Increasing reaction time of the glycine and glucose promoted the inhibitory effect of MRPs against the PPO activity of taro, whereas the color formation was gradually increased.
