This study was conducted to investigate a correlation of factors that have an influence on the happiness of college students, and to investigate the effect of factors on happiness of college students by analyzing the structure of influencing factors of happiness. To this end, 430 freshmen in college were selected and tested on character, self-esteem, self-leadership, and happiness. The measurement tools used in this study were the 30 questions of Character Scale that Choi Min-Soo and Im Eun-Young(2013) developed and modified by Im Eun-Young(2015), a Self-Leadership Scale of Manz(1998) classified into behavioral strategy and cognitive strategy that Wang Ji-Seon(2011) translated and modified. a Self-Esteem Scale(SES) of Rosenberg(1986) that the researcher modified and used, and The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire of Hills and Argyle(2002) that Choi Yo-Won(2002) translated and the researcher modified. According to the research result, for correlation with happiness, self-esteem was .86, self-leadership was .74, and character was .66, and for correlation with self-leadership, character was .70, self-esteem was .66, and correlation between character and self-esteem was .57. Secondly, for direct effect on happiness, self-esteem was .62, character as .20, self-leadership was .19, and for direct effect on self-leadership, character was .49 and self-esteem was .38. Thirdly, indirect effect of character on happiness through self-leadership was .94 and indirect effect of self-esteem on happiness through self-leadership was .73. Through these research results, it was identified that character, self-esteem, and self-leadership of college students are the influencing factors on happiness, and that self-esteem is the biggest influencing factor on happiness of college students among the three variables. The results of this study suggested that university students' personality had a positive relationship with self-esteem and that university students' personality, self-esteem, and self-leadership altogether had a direct influence on happiness. Moreover, both personality and self-esteem of university students had an indirect influence on happiness through their self-leadership.

This paper is concerned with evaluating the fidelity of a non-cognitive test adaptation for use in multiple languages and cultures using two differential item functioning(DIF) techniques: (a) PSIBTEST, and (b) Logistic Discriminant Function Analysis(LDFA). In particular, this study focused on how DIF research can best be extended to the problem of evaluating the equivalence of tests across cultures and languages. The Sixteen Personality Factor (16PF) questionnaire was administered in English to 844 American college students and in Korean to 538 Korean college students. This study attempted to identify the best matching criterion for the translated tests by using both a multivariate matching technique and iterative purification process. The results generally showed a small number of DIF items on each scale, except for scales A and N where about half of the items showed DIF. The choice of matching variables based on a combination of internal measures appeared to have little effect and the iterative purification method was unsuccessful. Finally, the results were discussed and methodological implications were also presented.
The purpose of this study is to compare the purchase intention on naturally dyed clothing between Korea and the US. As independent variables that affect the purchase intention, benefits that consumers seek when purchasing naturally dyed clothing, especially for fabric materials, and attitudes towards naturally dyed clothing were selected. A quantitative research method with a survey was employed. 160 data from Korea and 180 data from the US were used for the analysis. The convenience sampling method (i.e., college female students) was used. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test and regression analysis were employed to test the differences in purchase intention, fabric benefit sought, and the attitudes. The fabric benefit sought selected for this study includes eco-friendliness, uniqueness, aesthetic, comfort and quality. The attitude toward naturally dyed clothing was categorized as an emotional and a cognitive attitude. The results show the significant differences in the fabric benefit sought depending on nationality, major and experiences in natural dyeing. Significant differences were found in of the attitude toward naturally dyed clothing among the nationalities and the experience types in natural dyeing. In addition, there were significant differences in purchase intention toward naturally dyed clothing between Korean and the US participants, and countries show different fabric benefits and attitudes which influenced participants' purchase intention. The results of this study suggest an appropriate fabric planning for environment-friendly fashion products for both countries.
Objective : We investigated whether Disability Evaluation (DE) situations influence patients' neuropsychological test performances and psychopathological characteristics and which variable play a role to establish an explanation model using statistical analysis. Methods : Patients were 536 (56.6%) brain-injured persons who met inclusion and exclusion criteria, classified into the DE group (DE; n = 300, 56.0%) and the non-DE group (NDE; n = 236, 44.0%) according to the neuropsychological testing's purpose. Next, we classified DE subjects into DE cluster 1 (DEC1; 91, 17.0%), DE cluster 2 (DEC2; 125; 23.3%), and DE cluster 3 (DEC3; 84, 15.7%) via two-step cluster analysis, to specify DE characteristics. All patients completed the K-WAIS, K-MAS, K-BNT, SCL-90-R, and MMPI. Results : In comparisons between DE and NDE, the DE group showed lower intelligence quotients and more severe psychopathologic symptoms, as evaluated by the SCL-90-R and MMPI, than the NDE group did. When comparing the intelligence among the DE groups and NDE group, DEC1 group performed worst on intelligence and memory and had most severe psychopathologic symptoms than the NDE group did. The DEC2 group showed modest performance increase over the DEC1 and DEC3, similar to the NDE group. Paradoxically, the DEC3 group performed better than the NDE group did on all variables. Conclusion : The DE group showed minimal "faking bad" patterns. When we divided the DE group into three groups, the DEC1 group showed typical malingering patterns, the DEC2 group showed passive malingering patterns, and the DEC3 group suggested denial of symptoms and resistance to treatment.

An interface in smart device environment is changing to TUI(touch user interface) environment where a system is being controlled by physical touch, differently from a system controlled through conventional mouse and keyboard. What is more important than anything else in this TUI environment is to implement interface in consideration of learn ability and cognitive constructivism according to user's experience. Therefore, now is the time when it is necessary to carry out various studies on smart content design process going a step farther together with discussing the details of user's experience factor. Hence, this study was intended to look into what effect a user's experiential traits had on the production of contents for the purpose of measures for improving TUI user satisfaction in order to effectively realize contents in smart environment. Results were yielded by using a statistical empirical analysis such as cross-tabulation analysis according to important variable and user, paired t-test, multiple response analysis, and preference frequency analysis of user preference on the basis of a survey. As a result, a system was presented for implementing DFSS(Design For Six Sigma) process. TUI experience factor can be divided into direct habitual experience, direct learning experience, indirect habitual experience, and indirect learning experience. And in the results of study, it was possible to find that the important variables of this study had a positive effect on the improvement of use satisfaction with contents on the whole according to the user convenience of smart contents. This study is expected to have a positive effect on efficient smart device-based contents production by providing objective information according to empirical analysis to smart media-based developer and designer and presenting a model for improving the changed TUI usability.
The way people read news is changing, from print to screen. In this study, we aimed to understand the impact of the use of infographics in news on readers. According to a study conducted by Reuters Research Institute at the University of Oxford in 2017, the proportion of online consumers of news is steadily increasing, with over 51 per cent of Americans receiving news via social media. Additionally, newspaper subscription rates are rapidly declining. According to previous studies, the understanding of text information is higher in print media than on screen. Therefore, to compensate for the weaknesses in the understanding of online news, online news media are providing infographic news services to deliver good news. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the impact of using infographics in the news. To this end, three experiments were conducted. The findings from the study indicate that the use of infographics in news has a positive effect on users in terms of the variables measured, including cognitive effect and acceptance of news. As compared with print news, on-screen news was not as effective in terms of comprehension. However, we propose interactive infographics to enhance communication effect along with improved design.
This study identified the impact of augmented reality advertising on attitude toward advertising and memory according to the type of presence and flow level. The presence (cognitive, emotional, media) and flow level (high vs. low) of the augmented reality(AR) advertising were set as independent variables and analyzed by Two-Way MANOVA. As a result of the research, first, the augmented reality advertising attitude was positive when the emotional presence and flow level were high. Second, when the flow level is high, the ARM such as product attribute information increases, but when the flow level is low, the evaluation-oriented GRM increases. Third, emotional presence increases GRM when the flow level is high, but ARM increases when the flow level is low. Fourth, the memory effect was low regardless of the flow level. In the future research, it would be desirable to produce augmented reality advertisements through virtual brands in the generalization of research.
Purpose: This study has a purpose to suggest research and intervention directions for health promoting behaviors (HPB) of the Korean middle-aged in the future. Methods: Forty four articles on HPB of the Korean middle-aged were reviewed and analyzed. The articles analyzed are theses written for a doctoral or master's degree and published between 1995 and 2007. Results: 1. As for the major characteristics of the subject groups, most of them were between 40 and 60 years old (61.4%), were females (79.5%), and resided in cities (84.1%). 2. The dependent variables adopted were physiological, psychological and cognitive factors (self-efficacy, knowledge of health management, etc.), HPB and factors related to Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP). 3. The average scores of HPLP were $1.57{\sim}3.08$ on a 4-point scale. The highest score was observed in self-actualization, and the lowest score in exercise. 4. Self-efficacy, perceived health status and income had significant correlations with HPB. 5. In regression analysis, self-efficacy, self-esteem and perceived health status were the most powerful predictors. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop intervention tools for more diverse HPB of the Korean middle-aged. The interventions are recommended to focus on increasing exercise and to use strategies for improving self-efficacy and self-esteem.
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there is any difference between the dual residence couples and the single residence couples in terms of the situation of child care, development of their child and mother's parenting guilty or parenting stress. Also, this study aimed to explore the variables which influence parenting guilty and parenting stress of dual residence mothers. The 178 mothers of three to eight tear-old participated the survey. Half of them were dual residence mothers and another half were those of single residence. These two groups were matched in terms of the occupation of the mother and the age of the child. Major finding were as follows. 1) Compared with single residence couples, dual residence couples used multiple methods of child care. And they depended maternal families more than paternal ones as a care-giver. They also payed much more for the child care than single residence couples. 2) Children of the dual residence couples did not differ with those of the single residence couples in terms of cognitive and social development. 3) Dual residence mothers had more parenting guilty than those of single residence while these two groups did not differ in terms of parenting stress. 4) While dual residence mother's parenting guilty was significantly related with the amount of information provided by the paternal families, their parenting stress was significantly related with the frequencies of communicating with the husband, the mother's age, the flexibility of time in the mother's work place, the mother's orientation to the career, and the supports of the husband. In conclusion, dual residence families in Korea were not so negative as expected. Furthermore, this study suggests that the parenting difficulties of the dual residence mothers could be decreased by the change of social and economic situations and the psycho-social support of the husband.
The critical thinking has become gradually important in nursing education for the era of convergence. The literature review was undertaken to identify the study trends of critical thinking in nursing education in Korea. 75studies from 1996 to 2014 were reviewed. The studies related to critical thinking were highly increased from 2006. The study design was identified descriptive studies to path model. The predictors to critical thinking were an academic system, age, interpersonal relationship, academic achievement, the duration of clinical practice, satisfaction on nursing, self-esteem, self-efficacy, learning methods and so on. The consequence variables were clinical practice stress, cognitive stress, the ability of problem-solving, clinical competency, emotion control, communication competence. It is necessary to develop education programs and curriculum based on evidence from the researches for increasing critical thinking.
