A Study on the Gray Code Digit Sequence (그래이부호디지트 절차에 관한 연구)

  • 반복형 그래이 부호 중 14진 및 16진 부호용 디지트 절차(digit sequence 또는 DS)의 여러가지 특성에 관하여 논하였으며 그것들을 통일적으로 기적할 수 있는 PDS는 각각 31종 및 11종이 있다는 것을 명백히 하였다. 그리고 이 PDS들에 회전변환과 순렬변환을 실시하여 얻을 수 있는 DS의 총수와 각종 특수 DS의 성질에 관하여도 논하였으며 대칭형 DS를 이용한 14진 및 16진 GC Counter를 설계하여 그것들의 동작을 실험에 의하여 확인하였다. Investigations on some characteristics of Tetra-Decimal and Hexa-Decimal recycling Gray co de (GC)-digit sequence(DS) are carried out, and, 31 and 11 kinds of prime digit sequence(PDS) are proposed respectively. From these PDS, by means of rotational conversion and permutational conversion, the numbers of all DS are obtained, and also the characteristics of some special DS are studied. Tetra Decimal and Hexa-decimal GC counters are designed using symmetrical DS, and, their operations are experimentally verified.

  • In this paper, a new multi carrier, direct sequence code division multiple access (MC-DS-CDMA) system is proposed. Our new signal construction is based on convolutional encoding of the transmitted data, serial-to-parallel (S/P) conversion of the encoded data, Walsh-Hadamard-transformation (WHT), a second S/P conversion of the WHT outputs, spread spectrum (SS) modulation with a common pseudo-noise (PN) sequence, and then multicarrier transmission. The system bit error rate (BER) performance in frequency selective fading channel in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and a jamming tone is analyzed and simulated. The numerical results are compared with those from an orthogonal MC-DS-CDMA system of Sourour and Nakagawa [7]. It is shown that the two systems have almost the same BER performance, but the proposed scheme has better anti-jamming ability.

  • This paper presents a new method to obtain more stable and precise A/D conversion for remote sensing use. Hardware is designed to compensate offset voltage and drift & temperature characteristics, as well as to perform dual slop A/D converter by using single chip microprocessor. Serial communication program which is based on ASCII code commands is also developed to add initial setup & calibration functions as well as to perform A/D data communication. Proposed method will give a good applications to the industrial field where a high precision remote sensing is required.

  • Recent developments such as concern over global warming, depletion of fossil fuels and increase in energy demands by the increasing world population has eventually lead to mass production of electricity using renewable sources. Apart from wind and solar, ocean holds tremendous amount of untapped energy in forms such as geothermal vents, tides and waves. The current study looks at generating power using waves and the focus is on the primary energy conversion (first stage conversion) of incoming waves for different models. Observation of flow characteristics and the velocity in the augmentation channel as well as the front guide nozzle are presented in the paper. A numerical wave tank was used to simulate the waves and after obtaining the desired wave properties; the augmentation channel plus the front guide nozzle and rear chamber were integrated to the numerical wave tank. The waves in the numerical wave tank were generated by a piston type wave maker which was located at the wave tank inlet. The inlet which was modeled as a plate wall moved sinusoidally with the general function, x=asin$\omega$t The augmentation channel consisted of a front nozzle, rear nozzle and an internal fluid region representing the turbine housing. The analysis was performed using the commercial CFD code ANSYS-CFX.

  • In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, the principle of digital to radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.

Calculation of X-ray spectra characteristics and kerma to personal dose equivalent Hp(10) conversion coefficients: Experimental approach and Monte Carlo modeling

  • This work aims to establish some X-ray qualities recommended by the International Standard Organization (ISO) using the half-value layer (HVL) and Hp(10) dosimetry approaches. The HVL values of the following qualities N-60, N-80, N-100, N-150 and N-250 were determined using various attenuation layers. The obtained results were compared to those of reference X-ray beam qualities and a good agreement was found (difference less than 5% for all qualities). The GAMOS (Geant4-based Architecture for Medicine-Oriented Simulations) radiation transport Monte Carlo toolkit was employed to simulate the production of X-ray spectra. The characteristics HVLs, mean energy and the spectral resolution of simulated spectra have been calculated and turned out to be conform to the ISO reference ones (difference less than the limit allowed by ISO). Furthermore, the conversion coefficients from air kerma to personal dose equivalent for simulated and measured spectra were fairly similar (the maximum difference less than 4.2%).

  • An OWC-type Wave Energy Conversion passes through 3 steps energy conversion process. This paper deal with the internal oscillating flow and effect of shape of air chamber and duct at setting place of turbine by numerical analysis using commercial CFD code, FLUENT. Air chamber and duct in OWC-type wave energy conversion are adopting sudden expanded and contracted form for high-efficiency. So, whole oscillating flow from OWC-type chamber to outlet duct through duct was solved by steady and unsteady analysis in order that flow efficiency of air chamber and duct was made better.

  • Currently, structural design of wood structure has been based on ASD (Allowable Structural Design) in Korea. However, the results from this method was known as greater than real value because variations of materials and various conditions were not considered sufficiently. So the study about the design method with probabilistic approach is being performed to overcome this problem. And the standard design method of RBD (Reliability Based Design) has been established and applied. In this study, to apply this method on the domestic wood, the distribution property of the lumber and Glulam was analyzed from the previous report and the basis of the standardized design method was established as soft conversion method from allowable stress used in ASD into reference resistance used in RBD. And through the additional study about the sample size as a important factor to effect on soft conversion, condition to be required in more accurate conversion was evaluated.

  • There are conversion of expression motion and assignment motion inclusive espression motion in techniques that optimized program computationally and livelly. In this paper, I suggest that an algorithms of reconstruct unnecessary code motion which is improves Knoop's algorithms that have ambiguous. It is occurred by mixing the node level analysis and the instruction level analysis. This algorithm improves runtime and efficiency of a program by avoiding the unnecessary recalculations and reexecutions of expressions and assignment statements.
