Electrochemical Performance of Hybrid (Activated Carbon+LiCoO2) Electrode (하이브리드 (활성탄소+LiCoO2) 전극의 전기화학적 특성)

  • In this study, the hybrid electrodes, composed of the activated carbon powders and $LiCoO_{2}$ powders, were prepared as a cathode for the high-capacitance type hybrid capacitor, and the electrochemical properties of the hybrid electrodes were examined in terms of the weight composition and the milling time of $LiCoO_{2}$ powders. The specific volumetric capacities were increased with increasing of the composition of $LiCoO_{2}$ powders in the hybrid electrodes. On the other hand the coin cell capacitors, using the hybrid electrodes with $LiCoO_{2}$ poweders milled for 200 h, have exhibited the lower internal resistivities and the better capacity retention after 100 charge-discharge cycle than those of the coin cell capacitors using the hybrid electrodes with raw $LiCoO_{2}$ powders.

  • Due to environmental concerns $CO_2$ has been reintroduced as a potential candidate to replace HFCs in refrigeration systems since 1990s. In a refrigeration cycle, oil is utilized in lubricating a compressor. However, although oil separators are installed after a compressor oil is prone to leak to the whole system. The mixing of $CO_2$ and oil, even a small amount of oil, the heat transfer performance in heat exchanger deteriorated and the pressure drop inside tube increases. Therefore, it is needed to precisely estimate the mixture thermodynamic properties of $CO_2$-lubricant oil to correctly design a $CO_2$ refrigeration system. The commonly used method in estimating the mixture properties is the mole based weighting model. However, the accuracy of the method can not be assured. In the present study, $CO_2$-lubricant oil mixture properties including viscosity and density were estimated by using the mixture models, based on the equation of state (EOS).

Cooling Heat Transfer Characteristics of CO2 in a Brazing Type Small Diameter Copper Tube (브레이징식 동세관내 CO2의 냉각 열전달 특성)

  • The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter tube was investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a $CO_2$ compressor, a mass flow meter, an evaporator and a brazing type small diameter tube as a test section. The mass flux of $CO_2$ is $400{\sim}1600$ [kg/$m^2s$], the mass flowrate of coolant were varied from 0.15 to 0.3 [kg/s], and the cooling pressure of gas cooler were from 8 to 10 [MPa]. The cooling heat transfer coefficients of the brazing type small diameter copper tube is about $4{\sim}11.7%$ higher than that of the conventional type small diameter copper tube. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, correlations failed to predict the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube. therefore, it is necessary to develope reliable and accurate predictions determining the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube.

  • Accurate assessment of $CO_2$ emission from buildings requires gathering $CO_2$ emission data of various construction materials. Unfortunately, the amount of available data is limited in most countries. This study was conducted to present the $CO_2$ emission data of concrete, which is the most important construction material in Korea, by conducting a statistical analysis of the concrete mix proportion. Finally, regression models that can be used to estimate the $CO_2$ emission of concrete in all strengths were developed, and the validity of these models was evaluated using 24 and 35MPa concrete data. The validation test showed that the error ratio of the estimated value did not exceed a maximum of 5.33%. This signifies that the models can be used in acquiring the $CO_2$ emission data of concrete in all strengths. The proposed equations can be used in assessing the environmental impact of various construction structural designs by presenting the $CO_2$ emission data of all concrete types.

  • An embedded system is a computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints. A traditional design process of embedded systems is the development of document-centric approach, and it is difficult to develop an embedded system efficiently because communication between teams or steps is not smooth. So the Model Based Design Process are applied to the development of embedded systems. This paper will compare the Model Based Design Process and the traditional design process, and introduce example of development of vehicle device applied the Model Based Design Process.

  • This study purposed realization and a phase reduction of school building $CO_2$ emissions. Accordingly selected standard school buildings and evaluated life cycle environmental load($CO_2$). This study proposed Green building technology which separated design sector, energy sector, afforestation sector for carbon-neutral city school buildings realization of M-city. As a result, elementary, middle and high schools of M-city built in the year 2013 were required that design sector was Energy Performance Index(EPI) 75 point and energy sector was solar installations more than 25% of the power usage, Solar systems installed more than 10% of total gas consumption and the area of afforesting more than 35% of the ecological area to achieve 30% $CO_2$ reduction compared to the Respectively standard school buildings.

  • In general, the expected life of power semiconductor elements is known for semi-permanent, but actual characteristics are changed according to the such environment conditions obviously because of using time or operating condition. Specially, in case of using at the power plant it is very important to sustain reliability for power semiconductor which it affect to stop operating condition as deterioration or break. Therefore, we need to apply maintenance technics to got the reliability which is a prediction method of life cycle. This paper shows the result of the analyzed data for element characteristic and effects used practically and we had developed the effective equipment which for diagnostic the semiconductor performance.

  • The reaction of $IrClH_2(CO)(Ph_3P)_2$ ($Ph_3P$=triphenylphosphine) with acrylonitrile (AN) produces a stoichiometric amount of propionitrile (PN) at $100^{\circ}C$ under nitrogen, which suggests that the catalytic hydrogenation of AN to PN with $IrCl(CO)(Ph_3P)_2$ proceeds through the hydride route where the formation of the dihydrido complex, $IrClH_2(CO)(Ph_3P)_2$ is the initial step. The rate of the hydrogenation of AN to PN with $IrCl(CO)(Ph_3P)_2$ is decreased by the presence of excess $Cl^-$ in the reaction system, which suggests that $Cl^-$ is the dissociating ligand in the catalytic cycle. It has been also found that the rate of the hydrogenation increases with inercase both in hydrogen pressure and in concentration of free $Ph_3P$, and with decrease in AN concentration in the reaction system.

  • In this study, a 0D multizone spray-combustion model is developed for the estimation of the performance and NOx emission of medium-sized direct-injection marine diesel engine. The developed combustion model is coupled with the commercial 1D cycle-simulation model, Boost, to analyze the entire engine system, including the intake and exhaust. The combustion model code was generated using Fortran90, and the model was coupled with Boost by connecting the generated code to a user-defined high-pressure cycle (UDHPC) interface. Simulation was performed for two injectors (8 holes and 10 holes) and two engine loads (50% and 100%), and the results of simulation were in good agreement with engine performance test.
