  • The global warming because of the CO2 emission and solution about this emerge as the international enviroment problem. Particularly, it is the absolutely it is needed for reducing the CO2 in the cement industry and harmful material actual condition. And the construction of home and abroad and material manufacturers tries for the technology development for the carbon dioxide and harmful material reduction which the portland cement in manufacture is usually emitted along with the increase of concerns about the environment-friendly concrete and panel. Therefore, in this research, the compressive strength of the inorganic binder and flexural strength tries to be measured in order to draw the inappropriate high temperature cure time of the ternary system inorganic binder using the blast furnace slag, red mud, silica fumewhich is the industrial byproduct with the cement substitute material, and etc.

EPDM/NR 블랜드의 물성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Properties of EPDM/NR Blends)

  • The physical properties of rubber blend between natural rubber(NR) and ethylene propylene diene terpolymer(EPDM) were investigated as a study of EPDM composite materials. For EPDM/NR blends, the effects of ethylene and diene contents in EPDM, blend ratio, dicumyl peroxide(DCP) curing system on the physical properties, interfacial adhesion force and dynamic crack growth etc. were studied. EPDM/NR blends loaded with carbon black were prepared by mechanical mixing and cured by plate heating cure press. Crosslinking density was measured by swelling method with toluene. The physical properties of all blends were measured with Instron, fatigue to failure(FTF), Demattia flex cracking tester(DMFC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. As the ethylene and diene contents in EPDM increased, the physical properties, such as dynamic crack growth, adhesion to other component were increased too. Interfacial adhesion force of EPDM/NR blends to dissimilar layer was improved by the use of optimum peroxide curing system.

  • In this study, the strength development characteristics of calcium silicate cement mixed mortar according to carbonation hardening conditions were evaluated. As a result of measuring the compressive strength, the strength increased according to the carbonation hardening time, and the strength increase rate was higher for the specimen with a CO2 concentration of 20%.

  • 동절기에 콘크리트를 시공할 경우 초기동해와 강도발현이 지연되는 문제가 있으며, 이를 방지하기 위해서는 콘크리트가 동결하기 이전에 시멘트의 수화반응이 일정수준 이하 진행되는 것이 중요하다. 이에 본 연구는 저온에서도 수화열이 높게 발생되는 $Al_2O_3$성분이 함량이 높은 CSA, 알루미나시멘트를 OPC에 치환하여 물성평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과 CSA, 알루미나시멘트를 사용하여 $-5^{\circ}C$의 저온환경에서 초기에 수화반응이 빠르게 진행되며, 급결현상 및 유동성저하현상이 발생되었고, 석고를 사용하여 응결시간을 지연하며 유동성을 확보하여 작업성을 개선하였다. 또한 단열양생공법을 적용하여 모르타르의 동결시간을 지연하였으며 수축보상효과를 증진시켰고 3일, 7일 강도가 증진되었다. 따라서 본 연구 결과 저온환경에서 CSA, 알루미나시멘트 및 석고를 사용하여 조기에 강도발현 증진효과가 우수하였으며, 석고 및 단열양생공법을 적용하여 작업성, 동결저항성, 조기강도 발현 성능이 개선되어 초기동해를 방지하는데 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Recently, as the national policy of green growth is promoted, construction field also makes an effort to reduce CO2 gas released when producing cement continuously. In other words, as the method solving environmental pollution and resources exhaustion, lots of mineral material compounds such as blast furnace slag powder which is industrial by-product, fly ash, red mud, etc. are examined to bo used as the substitute good of cement Therefore this study is to investigate the hardening characteristics of alumino-silicate inorganic binder using red-mud used as a accelerator of industrial by-product such as fly ash and blast furnace slag powder according to curing temperature. As a result, it is effective to use red-mud as the accelerator of inorganic binder with other additory accelerators.

Influence of curing condition and carbonation on electrical resistivity of concrete

  • The electrical resistivity of air-dried, saturated, and carbonated concretes with different mixture proportions was monitored to evaluate and quantify the influence of the age of the specimen, carbonation, and curing condition. After 28 days of curing, four prepared specimens were stored in a vacuum chamber with 5% $CO_2$ for 330 days to make carbonated specimens. Four of the specimens were placed in water, and four specimens were cured in air until the end of the experiments. It was observed that the electrical resistivity of the carbonated specimens increased as carbonation progressed due to the decrease of porosity and the increase of hydrated products. Therefore, in order to estimate the durability of concrete, its carbonation depth was used as the measurement of electrical resistivity. Moreover, an increase of electrical resistivity for air-dried and saturated concretes was observed as a function of age of the specimen. From the relationship between chloride diffusivity provided by Yoon et al. (2007) and the measurements of electrical resistivity, it is expected that the results well be of significant use in calibrating chloride diffusivity based on regular measurements of electrical resistivity during concrete construction.

Ring Furnace를 이용한 Acrylic Resin의 온성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat-Curing of Acrylic Resin using Ring Furnace)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of curing time and curing temperature on the hear - Curing of acrylic resin using ring furnace. Specimens were fabricated from 2 kinds(Laboron, Bertex) heat-cured resin. Total 200 samples were divided into 4 groups(70$^{\circ}C$, 100$^{\circ}C$, 13$^{\circ}C$, 150$^{\circ}C$) and each group was divided into 5 small groups(30 min., 45min., 60min., 75min., 90min.). A microscope(Olympus Coll Co. Japan) was used to examine a randomly selected central zone, midzone and surface for each complete specimen. The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. To obtain non-polymerzation, cure the resin for 30 minutes at 70$^{\circ}C$ and 100$^{\circ}C$ in a ring furnace. 2. To obtain with porosity, cure the resin for 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 75 mintes at 70$^{\circ}C$ and for 90 minutes at 150$^{\circ}C$ in ring furnace. Porosity appears in Laboron for 30 minutes, 45 minutes at 150$^{\circ}C$ in a ring furnace. 3. Every other specimens connot get a sight of special problem with makes eye in the made surface.

지방족 폴리우레탄 접착제의 합성과 접착 특성 (Synthesis and Adhesion Properties of Aliphatic Polyurethane Adhesive)

  • Polyurethane adhesive is used in various fields as flexible packaging materials including a food packaging field. Therefore, the purpose of this study is synthesis of polyurethane adhesive which uses aliphatic isocyanate, and compares with aromatic isocyanate. The isocyanates for this test are toluene-2,4-diisocyanate(TDI), hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI), 4,4-dicyclohexyl ethane diisocyanate($H_{12}MDI$), and isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI). And, the effect of any other diisocyanate are evaluated by several methods as for curing rate test, accelerate weathering test, and peel strength test. The polyurethane adhesive using curing catalyst and HDI has adhesion strength of about 560 g/15 mm between aluminium foil and nylon, about 1,520 g/15 mm between nylon and CPP. Those parameters are similar to polyurethane adhesive with TDI. Also, in case of curing rate, those are similar to TDI type polyurethane adhesive. Moreover, data of ${\Delta}E$ as color variation by QUV tester is equal to 4.12, as 48% against those of TDI type.

Effect of Electron Beam and ${\gamma}$-Ray Irradiation on the Curing of Epoxy Resin

  • The effect of an electron beam and ${\gamma}$-ray irradiation on the curing of epoxy resins was investigated. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F (DGEBF) as epoxy resin were used. The epoxy resins containing 1.0-3.() wt% of triarylsulphonium hexafluoroantimonate(TASHFA) and triarylsulphonium hexafluorophosphate(TASHFP) as initiator were irradiated under nitrogen at room temperature with different dosage of EB and ${\gamma}$-rays from a Co$^{60}$ u source. The chemical and mechanical characteristics of irradiated epoxy resins were compared after curing of EB and ${\gamma}$-ray irradiation. The thermal properties of cured epoxy were investigated using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. The chemical structures of cured epoxy were characterized using near infrared spectroscopy. Mechanical properties such as flexural strength, modulus were measured. The gel fraction of DGEBA with ${\gamma}$-ray was higher than that of the epoxy with EB at the same dose. Young's modulus of the sample irradiated by ${\gamma}$-ray is higher than that of sample cured by EB. From the result of strain at yield, it was found that the epoxy cured by ${\gamma}$-ray had a higher stiff property compared with the irradiated by EB.

난각으로부터 합성된 초미립 CaO 분말을 이용한 C3S, C2S, C3A 분말 합성 및 혼합 경화체에 미치는 C3A 함량의 영향 (Synthesis of C3S, C2S, C3A Powders using Ultra-fine Calcium Oxide Powder Synthesized from Eggshell and Effect of C3A Content on Hardened Mixed Aggregates)

  • In this work, ultra-fine calcium oxide (CaO) powder derived from eggshells is used as the starting material to synthesize mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). The prepared CaO powder is confirmed to have an average particle size of 500 nm. MTAs are synthesized with three types of fine CaO-based powders, namely, tricalcium silicate (C3S), dicalcium silicate (C2S), and tricalcium aluminate (C3A). The synthesis behavior of C3S, C2S and C3A with ultra-fine CaO powder and the effects of C3A content and curing time on the properties of MTA are investigated. The characteristics of the synthesized MTA powders are examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), and a universal testing machine (UTM). The microstructure and compressive strength characteristics of the synthesized MTA powders are strongly dependent on the C3A wt.% and curing time. Furthermore, MTA with 5 wt.% C3A is found to increase the compressive strength and shorten the curing time.
