Genotoxicity Studies of STB-HO-BM, a Germanium Complex (게르마늄 복합물인 STB-HO-BM에 대한 유전독성에 관한 연구)

  • We have investigated the genotoxicity of STB-HO-BM using in vitro and in vivo system such as Ames reverse mutation test, chromosomal aberration test and micronucleus test. in Ames reverse mutation test, STB-HO-BM treatment at the dose range up to 5,000 ug/plate did not induce mutagenicity in Salmonella typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA102, TA1535, TA 1537 and in Escherichia coli WP2 uvrA with and without metabolic activation. Any significant aberration wasn't observed in chinese hamster lung (CHL) fibroblast cells treated with STB-HO-BM at the concentration of 12.5, 2.5, 5 mg/ml both in the absense and presence of metabolic activation system. In mouse micrnucleus test, no significant increase in the occurrence of micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes was observed in ICR male mice orally administered with STB-HO-BM at the doses of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 g/kg. These results indicate that STB-HO-BM has no mutagenic potential under the condition in this study.

  • Sand ripple. the smallest bottom configuration, is one of the most important factors in the mechanism of sand transport. This paper deals with characteristics of ripple geometry generated by regular and irregular waves. Especially. rearrangement of ripple spacing caused by increasing or decreasing waves is investigated through movable bed experiments. Nondimensional length of rearranged ripples becomes very close to that of measured ripples in the field Furthermore, stochastic characteristics and occurrence limits of three dimensional ripples are investigated through the wave number spectrum calculated from the measured bottom topography.

A Robust Sequential Preprocessing Scheme for Efficient Lossless Image Compression (영상의 효율적인 무손실 압축을 위한 강인한 순차적 전처리 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust preprocessing scheme for entropy coding in gray-level image. The issue of this paper is to reduce additional information needed when bit stream is transmitted. The proposed scheme uses the preprocessing method of co-occurrence count about gray-levels in neighboring pixels. That is, gray-levels are substituted by their ranked numbers without additional information. From the results of computer simulation, it is verified that the proposed scheme could be reduced the compression bit rate by up to 44.1%, 37.5% comparing to the entropy coding and conventional preprocessing scheme respectively. So our scheme can be successfully applied to the application areas that require of losslessness and data compaction.

  • Lots of Coal power plants (about 30) using bituminous coals are being run in Korea. The use of high volatile low grade sub-bituminous coal is increasingly extended because of imbalance between the worldwide coal supply and demand. Mill-fire has been an important issue since the use of such sub-bituminous coal. In existing coal plants of Korea, shutdown of coal and air supplies could be only a way, and an alternative has not been found in suppressing the mill fire. The inside fowfield in the mills has a highly fuel-rich, low temperature, and high velocity and non-reactive such that it could be a nonreactive system essentially. Nevertheless, occasional fire-occurrence could be attributed to the existence of an ignition source. However it has not been so far investigated in detail. The current work has a focus on suppressing the mile fire via some parametric experimental study such as effects of temperature, residence time, ignition source, and inert gas mixing. The results show that an small amount of $CO_2$- or $N_2$-mixing with air is very effective in suppressing fire formation even at high temperatures or flying sparks. The results suggest that exhaust gas recirculation into the mill should be an alternative to suppress mill fire.

Statistical Generation of Korean Chatting Sentences Using Multiple Feature Information (복합 자질 정보를 이용한 통계적 한국어 채팅 문장 생성)

  • A chatting system is a computer program that simulates conversations between a human and a computer using natural language. In this paper, we propose a statistical model to generate natural chatting sentences when keywords and speech acts are input. The proposed model first finds Eojeols (Korean spacing units) including input keywords from a corpus, and generate sentence candidates by using appearance information and syntactic information of Eojeols surrounding the found Eojeols. Then, the proposed model selects one among the sentence candidates by using a language model based on speech act information, co-occurrence information between Eojeols, and syntactic information of each Eojeol. In the experiment, the proposed model showed the better correct sentence generation rate of 86.2% than a previous conventional model based on a simple language model.

  • 전립선비대증(Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, BPH)은 전립선조직중에 이행구역의 결절성증식과 요도 주위의 과증식(Hyperplasia)이 특징이다. 경직장초음파(TRUS: transrectal ultrasonography)검사를 이용한 진단에 있어 정상조직과 비대되어 있는 조직의 영상 차이를 비교하고 수량화로 나타내었다, 영상분석에는 GLCM 통계적 파라미터 중에서 Autocorrelation, Cluster Prominence, Entropy, Sum average를 4개의 파라미터에서 병변 인식이 가능하였고 인식 효율은 92-98%가 나왔다. 전립선비대증식에 대한 초음파영상을 가지고 컴퓨터영상처리분석을 제안하여 진단시 참고 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

  • This paper proposes a noun sense disambiguation method based-on corpus and conceptual information. Previous research has restricted the use of linguistic knowledge to the lexical level. Since knowledge extracted from corpus is stored in words themselves, the methods requires a large amount of space for the knowledge with low recall rate. On the contrary, we resolve noun sense ambiguity by using concept co-occurrence information extracted from an automatically sense-tagged corpus. In one experimental evaluation it achieved, on average, a precision of 82.4%, which is an improvement of the baseline by 14.6%. considering that the test corpus is completely irrelevant to the learning corpus, this is a promising result.

  • 수박 '스피드'에서 칼슘제를 착과 14일 후에 1회 엽면 살포한 후 식물체의 칼슘농도, 과실품질 및 탄저병 발생을 조사하였다. 식물체 부위별 칼슘농도는 엽병에서 ECa 500배 처리구는 다른 처리구보다 현저하게 높았으며 과피에서는 MCa 500배 및 염화칼슘 0.4%에서 현저하게 높았다. 과육에서는 무처리에 비하여 ECa, MCa 및 염화칼슘 모두 높았다. ECa 칼슘제 희석배수에 의한 엽병의 칼슘 농도는 500배, 250배, 125배에서 높았다. 수확 시 과중은 무처리 및 염화칼슘 0.4%에 비하여 ECa 및 MCa 처리에서 유의하게 증가하였다. 당도 및 과피두께 차이는 없었다. 탄저병 발생은 무처리에 비하여 처리 칼슘제 모두 낮았다. 생리장해과 발생은 육안으로 전처리 모두 관찰할 수 없었다.

  • Common utility tunnel is essential to the daily lives of people underground utilities (electricity, gas and supply facilities such as water, communication facilities, sewer facilities, etc.) to improve the appearance by co-acceptance and disaster prevention, important for the conservation of the city's population was concentrated road construction the city-based facilities. There is recognition of the importance of the various supply treatment facilities in common utility tunnel as infrastructure to accommodate joint according to the city expanded, the demand for infrastructure. In this paper, a cost-benefit analysis using a one-time occurrence, without simply relying on cost or current cost, project manager for the city-dimensional feasibility study conducted, the user level of the maintenance costs and user costs, including social costs items from various angles can be investigated and proposed a mechanism of economic feasibility common utility tunnel. Evaluation of the proposed technique is cost-benefit and cost caused by installing common utility tunnel the existing pipeline area - was investigated by the benefit analysis, extended and repeated common utility tunnel installation depends much affected by the excavation, so users of reducing the number of repeat excavation convenience can be seen that this occurs.

  • Image processing consist of image analysis and classification. The one is extracting of feature value in the image. The other is segimentationof image that have same properiv. A novel approach for the analysis and classification of tezture images based on statistical texture prunitive estraction are proposed. In this approach, feature vector extracting is based on stalisucal method using apatial dependence of grey level and use general lexture proerty. In is advantageous that not effiected on structure and type of lexture. These components describe the amount of roughness and softness of texture images Two leatures. Moment and Homogeneity, are componted from GLCM(gray level co-occurrence matrices) of the lexture promitive to charactenize statisical properties of the image. We show the successful experimental results by considerationof these two components fro the analysis and classificationto regular and irregular texture images.
