Prediction and Classification System for Temporal lobe Epilepsy (측두엽 간질 예측과 분류시스템)

  • Epileptic seizures result from a temporary electrical disturbance of the brain. In this paper, a method of discriminating EEG for diagnoses of temporal lobe epilepsy is proposed. The proposed method for classification of epilepsy and sleep EEG is based on the wavelet transform and the fuzzy c-means. The magnitude and mean of wavelet coefficients for each EEG band are applied to the cluster of the FCM classifier. The proposed system show a little more accurate diagnosis for EEG by analysis of frequency for Wavelet and the success rate of 95% classification using FCM. From the simulation results by the implemented system, we demonstrated this research can be reduce doctor's labors and realize quantitative diagnosis of EEG.

Hospice Volunteer's Experiences in Caring for Cancer Patients (호스피스 자원 봉사자들의 암 환자 돌봄에 대한 경험)

  • Purpose: This study was explored the meaning of hospice volunteer's experience in caring for cancer patients and tried to understand their experiences. Method: The data was collected from 7 participants living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province from Jan. to Apr. 2005. Collection of data was by means of in-depth interviews. The analysis of the data was made the phenomenological analytic method suggested by Colaizzi(1978). Result: The result is consisted of nine theme-cluster; experienced a fear, limitation of activity, experienced social care, experienced physical care, good death, experienced necessity of recharging, experienced bereavement care. Conclusion: The result above indicated that health professionals must develop the management and education of volunteer of hospice care for various hospice care. Also, We should to encouraged the continuous education and efficient management. And support system should be developed.

  • In this paper, we present a fast and robust algorithm for the design of fuzzy controller and identifying fuzzy model from numerical data by combining the cluster estimation method with a linear least squares estimation procedure. The proposed method is compared with Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System(ANFIS) as the standard example of neuro-fuzzy model. Finally we will show its usefulness and effectiveness for the design of fuzzy controller of a cart-pole system and fuzzy modeling for the coagulant dosing of a water purification system.

  • First, this paper compute difference value between frames using the composed method of $X^2$ histogram and color histogram and the normalization. Next, cluster representative frame was decided by using the clustering for distance and the k-mean grouping. Finally, representative frame of group was decided by using the likelihood ratio. Proposed method can be known by experiment as outstanding of detection rather than other methods, due to computing of difference value, clustering and grouping, and detecting of representative frame.

  • The most critical issue in information retrieval system is to have adequate results corresponding to user requests. When all documents related with user inquiry retrieve, it is not easy not only to find correct document what user wants but is limited. Therefore, clustering method that grouped by corresponding documents has widely used so far. In this paper, we cluster on the basis of the meaning rather than the index term in the existing document and a LSI method is applied by this reason. Furthermore, we distinguish and analyze differences from the clustering using widely-used K-Means algorithm for the document clustering.

Classification and Characteristics of the Lower Body Type of Elderly Women (노년여성의 하반신 체형분류 및 특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide total information for elderly women\`s clothing construction by classifying and analyzing the characteristics of their lower body types. Three hundred three subjects, between the ages of 60 and 82, were chosen. The data were collected from 37 anthropometric measurements of each subject and analyzed by the multivariate method. Through the factor analysis of principal component model, eight factors were extracted from anthropometric measurements. The most important factors were obesity, vertical size, and shape of below waistline to hip. The subjects were classified into 5 types according to cluster analysis by Ward\`s minimum variance method. The dominent types were type 1, 2. The chracteristics of type 1 are average height and sized tyoes, a greater difference between hip and waist. The charateristics of type 2 are shorter height and comparatively fat types, fatness of the waist and abdomen.

Empirical Analysis on Change of Korean Male Pro- Basketball Players Draft System

  • Beginning in the 2007-2008 season, the men's pro-basketball league changed a foreigner selection method by introducing a draft system which leads to a tryout from the free agency system. Also in the same season, the woman's pro-basketball league changed its system from one that permitted foreign players to one that doesn't allow foreign player participation. The reason for this change is thought to be financial problems. However this institutional change brings about the reduction in the quality of basketball and it will affect spectators in a negative way. The empirical study attempted to analyze the effects which follows an institutional change in Korean men's pro-basketball. The research showed that the men's pro-basketball league wasn't affected at all due to foreigner selection method by a draft system that led to a tryout from the free agency system.

  • The purpose of this research is to example the general trend of the service environment evaluation of the silver town and classify based on the service environment evaluation to suggest a effective method and alternatives fur development companies. The survey population of this study focused on 40s and 50s' middle aged both genders living in the Seoul and national capital region, we used random sampling method. The analytical methods used in this study were frequency, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, Chi-Squae analysis, ANOVA, cluster Analysis, post-hoc estimation (Duncan test), To verify the reliability of each measure, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used. As a result of classifying the environment evaluation elements, it was classified into 5 groups for the differentiating strategy on each group. The groups are: life support service type, medical and health support service type, cultural support service type, indifference type, and food support service type.

  • Fuzzy c-means method is typical soft clustering, and requires a degree of membership that indicates the degree of belonging to each cluster at the time of clustering. Parameter values greater than 1 and less than 2 have been used by convention. According to the proposed data-generation scheme and the simulation results, some behaviors in the degree of "fuzziness" was derived.

  • Multicasting, the transmission of data to a group, can be solved from constructing multicast tree, that is, the whole network is partitioned to some clusters and the clusters are constructed by multicast tree. This paper proposes an algorithm that reduces the multicast routing costs using a clustering method. Multicast tree is constructed by minimum-cost Steiner tree. It is important to solve the mnimum-cost Steiner tree problem in the multicast routing problems. Hence, this paper proposes a genetic algorithm for multicast routing problems using clustering method.
