  • NiAl powders containing oxide dispersoids have been produced by mechanical alloying process in a controlled atmosphere using high energy attrition mill. The powders have been consolidated by hot extrusion and hot pressing followed by isothermal annealing to induce microstructure coarsening to improve high temperature properties. Grain growth and dispersoid coarsening kinetics have been investigated as functions of annealing time and temperature. Coarsening of dispersion strengthen NiAl and dispersoid has been discussed. Some clues of secondary recrystallization have been investigated. Mechanical property measurements have been also made and correlated with the microstructures.

  • The current distribution of galaxies may contain clues to the condition of the universe when the galaxies condensed and to nature of the subsequent expansion of the universe. The development of this large scale structure can be studied by employing N-body computer simulations. The present paper describes the code developed for this purpose. The computer code calculates the motion of collisionless matter acting under the force of gravity in an expanding flat universe. The test run of the code shows the error less than 0.5% in 100 iterations.

  • As computational resolution of modern cosmological simulations reach ever so close to resolve individual star-forming clumps in a galaxy, a need for "resolution-appropriate" physics for a galaxy-scale simulation has never been greater. To this end, we introduce a self-consistent numerical framework that includes explicit treatments of feedback from star-forming molecular clouds and massive black holes. We perform a state-of-the-art cosmological simulation of a quasar-host galaxy at z~7.5, and demonstrate that previously undiscussed types of interplay between galactic components may hold important clues about the growth and impact of quasar-host galaxies.

  • Transient epileptic amnesia and transient global amnesia both exhibit temporary memory loss. The lack of clues of epileptic events and the absence of epileptiform abnormalities in electroencephalography, a clear brain lesion, and interictal cognitive decline can make diagnoses challenging. Here we present a middle-aged female who experienced long-term recurrent transient epileptic amnesia with subtle epileptic features over a period of 3 years.

  • This study was performed to document the morphologic relationships between non-ossifying fibroma (NOF) and fibrous cortical defect (FCD), as well as to determine any new diagnostic clues. Eighteen patients with 21 NOFs and 14 patients with 15 FCDs found incidentally on radiography were included. The authors prospectively performed CT, MRI, or both on all subjects. The study included size, location, sclerotic property and contour of the periphery, as well as calcification of the matrix of the lesions and the distance from the lesion to the growth plate. The morphologic characteristics were thoroughly reviewed focusing on the presence of the cortical tract in the lesions. The size of the lesion and the distance from the growth plate were not correlated with the patient' age. The presence of the cortical tract was noted in 18(85.7%) out of 21 NOFs, and 10(66.7%) out of 15 FCDs. The presence of the cortical tract was correlated with the longitudinal length of the lesion and the distance from the growth plate. The presence of the cortical tract may be one of the important characteristics in NOF and FCD, and if the diagnosis of bony lesions is obscure by radiologic finding, its exsitence may be a good indicator of diagnosis for NOF or FCD.

  • In recent years, as smart phone penetration rate is growing explosively, new forms of cyber crime data is poured out beyond the limits of management system for cyber crime investigation. These new forms of data are collected and stored in police station but, some of data are not systematically managed. As a result, investigators sometimes miss the hidden data which can be critical for a case. Crime data is usually generated by computer which produces complex and huge data and records many logs automatically, so it is necessary to simplify a collected data and cluster by crime pattern. In this paper, we categorize all kinds of cyber crime and simplify crime database and extract critical clues relative to other cases. Through data mining and network-visualization, we found there is correlation between clues of a case. From this result, we conclude cyber crime data mining helps crime prevention, early blocking and increasing the efficiency of the investigation.

  • Purpose: The ultimate purpose of this work is to investigate gender differences in the relationships between product quality cues and perceived values at a food select shop. Specifically, this study examines the effects of internal and external cues, which are indicators of product quality, on emotional and social values based on gender differences. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, a questionnaire technique was used to collect the data necessary to test the proposed model. 183 data were collected through this technique. PLS SEM (Partial Least Squares Structured Equation Model) was used to test the research model. Results: First, there is no gender difference between intrinsic cue and emotional value. When using male and female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cues and emotional values. Second, we found no gender difference between intrinsic cue and social value. When analyzed with female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cue and social value. On the other hand, in the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists. Third, this study found gender difference between extrinsic cue and emotional value. In the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists, whereas in the case of women, a strong causal relationship exists between extrinsic cue and emotional value. Fourth, we found gender difference between extrinsic cue and social value. In the case of men, there was no causal relationship, whereas in the case of women, there was a strong causal relationship between extrinsic cue and social value. Finally, we found that there are moderating roles of gender in the relationship between external cues and perceived quality. Conclusions: As a result of analysis, it is necessary to focus on extrinsic clues of product in order to increase the perceived emotional and social values of women. On the other hand, in order to improve the perceived emotional and social values of men, it is necessary to pay attention to both intrinsic and extrinsic cues of product. Therefore, it is necessary to consider what clues and values are important to core customers.

  • Purpose - This study focuses on clues that can clearly amplify the effects of background music. Review which store environments have a direct and positive impact on consumer responses, such as purchases. Research design, data, and methodology - This study focuses on clues that can clearly amplify the effects of background music. The purpose of this study is to examine what kind of store environment, combined with background music, has a direct and positive effect on consumer reactions such as purchase, and suggest future research directions. Results - The manager decides to use background music in the store because it is relatively inexpensive and easy to identify the emotional response of the consumer. In addition, appropriate background music lowers the psychological purchasing barriers of consumers. Previous studies have often not conducted a basic review of whether consumers perceive background music when it is used in retail stores. For example, it is necessary to make sure that the volume of the background music is loud enough and that the noise is properly excluded despite the congestion of the store so that the pure influence of the background music on the consumer can be measured. A way for store managers to clarify and differentiate their identity is to create a unique and satisfying store atmosphere for their customers. In order to help customers focus on their purchases, store managers must use marketing elements to integrate the five senses. And they should plan background music aiming at synergy effect of these five senses. In other words, in order to make the store atmosphere positive, it is not enough to have a suitable visual design interior or background music in the store, and consumers should have the opportunity to smell, taste and touch it directly. Conclusions - In conclusion, we hope that the following issues will be studied by several scholars in the future. It should be clarified that the impact of background music on customers varies depending on the customer's movement in the store, the selection of the background music genre order, and the timing (interval) of background music exposure to the customer.

  • Gastrointestinal complications, especially duodenal complication after cardiopulmonary bypass are rare, but often fatal. We experienced 1 case of duodenal ulcer bleeding and 2 cases of duodenal ulcer perforation developing after cardiopulmonary bypass from August 1994 to April 1996. In the case of duodenal ulcer bleeding, palpitation, dizziness, tachycardia and melena were the clues leading to diagnosis, and in the cases of perforation, abdominal distension with pain, tachycardia, hypotension, oliguria were the clues. Duodenal perforations were diagnosed by abdominal paracentesis. The patient with duodenal bleeding was treated by H-2 receptor antagonist, antacids and transfusion. And emergency laparotomy was required for the patients with duodenal perforation. In addition to ulcer prophylaxis including H-2 receptor antagonist and antacids, a high index of suspicion and timely surgery are necessary for early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of duodenal complication developing af er cardiopulmonary bypass.
