  • In this paper, we give sufficient conditions for a map with nonconvex values to have a continuous selection and the selection extension property in LC-metric spaces under the one-point extension property. And we apply it to weakly lower semicontinuous maps and generalize previous results. We also get a continuous selection theorem for almost lower semicontinuous maps with closed sub-admissible values in $\mathbb{R}$-trees.

  • In this paper, we consider locally compact Hausdorff spaces having the closed unit interval of the real line as the remainder for an ESH-compactification and obtain that in the class of compact maps the extensions of homotopic maps on the respective ESH-compactifications remain homotopic under certain conditions.

  • In this paper, seminormality and t-closedness in ring extensions involving amalgamated algebras are studied. Let $R{\subseteq}T$ be a ring extension with ideals $I{\subseteq}J$, respectively such that J is contained in the conductor of R in T. Assume that T is integral over R. Then it is shown that ($R{\bowtie}I$, $T{\bowtie}J$) is a seminormal (resp., t-closed) pair if and only if (R, T) is a seminormal (resp., t-closed) pair.

  • BACKGROUND: The closed chamber method is the most commonly used for measuring greenhouse gas emissions from rice fields. This method has the advantages of being simple, easily available and economical. However, a measurement result using the chamber method is an estimated value and is complete when the uncertainty is estimated. The methane emissions from a rice paddy account for the largest portion of the greenhouse gas emissions in the agriculture sectors. Although assessment of uncertainty components affecting methane emission from a rice paddy is necessary to take account of dispersion characteristics, research on these uncertainty components is very rare to date. The goal of this study was to elucidate influencing factors on measurement uncertainty of methane concentrations measured by a closed automated chamber system from a rice paddy. METHODS AND RESULTS: The methane sampling system is located in the rice paddy in Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (37°13'15"N, 127°02'22"E). The primary measurement uncertainty components influencing methane concentrations (influencing factors) investigated in this research were repeatability, reproducibility and calibration in the aspects of methane sampling and analytical instrumentation. The magnitudes of the relative standard uncertainty of each influencing factor were quantified and compared. CONCLUSION: Results of this study showed what influencing factors were more important in determination of methane concentrations measured using the chamber system and analytical instrumentation located in the monitoring site. Quantifying the measurement uncertainty of the methane concentrations in this study would contribute to improving measurement quality of methane fluxes.

  • The need for holistic modeling efforts for returns that capture the extended closed loop supply chain (CLSC) system at strategic as well as operational level has been clearly recognized by the industry and academia. Strategic decision-makers need comprehensive models that can guide them in efficient decision-making to increase the profitability of the entire forward and return chain. Therefore, determination of a near optimal design configuration, which includes the environmental, economical and technological capability factors, is important in strategic decision-making effort that affect the profitability of the closed loop supply chain. In this paper, we adopted an improved system dynamics methodology to tackle strategic issues that affect various performance measures, like market, time/cost, environment etc., for closed loop supply chains. After studying real life implementation issues in CLSC design, we presented guidelines for the PBM (Participative Business Modeling) methodology and presented its extension for the strategic dynamic system modeling of return chains. Finally, we demonstrated the measurement of operational performance by extending SD (system dynamic) application to closed loop supply chain management.

  • Every closed subset of a compact topological space is compact. Also every compact subset of a Hausdorff topological space is closed. It follows that compact subsets are precisely the closed subsets in a compact Hausdorff space. It is also proved that a topological space is maximal compact if and only if its compact subsets are precisely the closed subsets. A locale is a categorical extension of topological spaces and a frame is an object in its opposite category. We investigate to find whether the closed sublocales are exactly the compact sublocales of a compact Hausdorff frame. We also try to investigate whether the closed sublocales are exactly the compact sublocales of a maximal compact frame.

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of flexible flatfeet on the accuracy of knee joint motions in closed and open kinetic chain tasks. Methods: Twenty-four healthy participants were recruited for this study. The subjects were divided into two groups using a navicular drop (ND) test: flexible flatfoot group (n=12, male: 6, aged $22.00{\pm}2.22years$) and age-matched control group (n=12, males: 6, aged $22.17{\pm}1.53years$). The accuracy of knee motion was measured quantitatively by tracing through the flexion and extension motion of the knee joints in the closed kinetic chain and the open kinetic chain. Results: There was a significant difference in the accuracy index between the groups in closed kinetic chain task, but there was no significant difference in the open kinetic chain task. In addition, there was a significant difference in the accuracy index between the closed kinetic chain and the open kinetic chain task in the flexible flatfoot group. In addition, a significant negative correlation was observed between the ND and accuracy index in the closed kinematic chain task, but there was no significant relationship between the ND and accuracy index in the open kinematic chain task. Conclusion: Flexible flatfeet can affect the accuracy of the adjacent joints, such as the knee joint in the closed kinematic chain.

  • In this note, we mainly discuss strongly Gorenstein hereditary rings. We prove that for any ring, the class of SG-projective modules and the class of G-projective modules coincide if and only if the class of SG-projective modules is closed under extension. From this we get that a ring is an SG-hereditary ring if and only if every ideal is G-projective and the class of SG-projective modules is closed under extension. We also give some examples of domains whose ideals are SG-projective.

  • The use of Multiparty Conference service based on SIP for VoIP provides is gradually magnified, and the work for continuous development and standardization on SIP is in the process of advancing. But, currently it is impossible for SIP to support identity discovery and distribution of each participant for multiparty conference. In this paper, we propose a SIP extension for guaranteeing security on the multiparty conference using SIP by adding new method and reconstructing header informations. With this, it is also possible to identify discovery and to distribute each participant using SIP extension when a call is established for closed multiparty conference.
