In 2006, the UNCITRAL Working Group II started a new project on the revision of the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules of 1976. Ever since that time, 9 sessions of the Working Group II were devoted to the discussions on such topic. The Arbitration Rules has been acknowledged to be used for settling international disputes involving various disputing parties. In recent years, many treaty-based arbitrations have been subject to the Arbitration Rules. This article focuses on the discussions made in the 52nd session of the Working Group II where the third reading of the revised draft of the Arbitration Rules was completed except for a few provisions. Among the draft rules, the delegations were hardly able to reach an agreement with regard to Articles 2(2), 34(2), 41(3), (4), and (6). It is expected that those provisions would be agreed in the coming 43rd plenary session of the UNCITRAL. The use of the Arbitration Rules is dependent on the agreement by the disputing parties. It is not like the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration which was adopted in Korean legal system in 1999. However, the proper functioning of arbitration rules is essential for the efficient and successful operation of the arbitration system in a particular country. That is the reason why we should keep close attention on the discussions of the UNCITRAL with regard to the revision of the Arbitration Rules.

The magazine in mordern society is a powerful mass-media. Children are generally interested in magazines, which are relatively in expensive, readily and reguarly, and easy to read. The research chose 5 children's magazines published in Korea in 1973 for close analysis. The Sonyon (Youth) was found to be closer to a pure literary reading for children; the Sae Sonyon (New youth) and Sonyonsegeh (World of the youth) were purposes oriented toward popular amusement purposes carrying a great number of catoons; the Sonyon Chungang (Chungang youth) carried too many advertisements; and the Okae Dong Mu (Rear group) was rather weak in contents in fine contrast with its colourful appearance. The following characteristics were generalized from analysis of the five children's magazines published in Korea: (1) The function of periodic information dissemination was very weak, feared in danger of being wiped out. : (2) The educative and guidance function was found rather weak. (3) Economic motives seemed stronger in spite of the expressed zeal for missions of magazine. (4) In terms of contents variety was lackey, with little individuality for each magazine. (5) Generally emphasis was given to pictoral contents rather than to reading articles.

This study seeks to find new strategies for the development of Tapgol Park and to identify Programs to promote this development. In addition, the study specifies the purpose and meaning of these efforts by revealing social aspects not apparent in the physical form of the site, and reading how these aspects influenced the development of Tapgol Park Because the focus of the study lies in reading cultural aspects of the site which have to be understood within the context of their social circumstances, the study drew materials from mass media such as newspapers and literary magazines, which best reflect these social aspects. Interpreting the over 100 you history of Tapgol Park in a cultural context, the study found a meaningful suggestion that such a small urban place located in a city forms a cultural identity in the course of communicating with its surrounding social situations. The change in the identity of Tapgol Park has been sensitive to changing social circumstances rather than the physical structure of the space. The original function of Tapgol Park as a traditional city park has gradually changed towards strengthening social functions, much like the character of an urban plaza. In the process of change the park developed a unique culture. This park culture, however, came not from the original design but from its close interactions with social circumstances changing over time. At the same time, the change in identity seen in Tapgol Park has not been fresh formed. It can be said that the inertia came into light with the potential powers under the place over the long history having been combined into the then social circumstances. In early 2002, the park re-opened, refurbished as one of the relics of the March 1st Movement. Investigating how cultural inertias that have been developing in various forms to date will change and be maintained in this new paradigm is an important assignment for researchers.

My essay aims at illustrating Whitman's homosexual vision of utopia with a close reading of his representative homosexual text, Calamus. His expansive self is based upon his intimate contact with the world and is almost always drawn to a wider vision of community in which different individuals share the locus of commonness and reach beyond their empirical boundaries. While foregrounding the contingent and the singular, Whitman forges bonds with other people through a series of ecstatic moments that carry us into the public sphere and common interests. Contrary to the current Whitman studies, his homosexual text doesn't repress contingency in order to celebrate the universal, but fully develops the commensurability among diverse historical agents. Whitman knows well the social taboos and inhibitions at the time of national crisis and expansion, but keeps imagining the world where homosexuality plays a central and significant role in founding a democratic solidarity and achieving a desirable social structure. His ideal of America is not a deferred wish for the future, but a concrete vision that can be achieved here and now, realized by the spontaneous bonding and instant attraction among free men. Instead of interpreting history or suggesting practical alternatives, he keeps questioning the dominant ideologies and the given orders of social control, and suggests a free and open relationship among men where no exterior power or mediating other intervenes. His utopian vision is radical as well as ideal, in that it rejects the interventions of the power structure and its institutions and courageously inscribes his homosexuality in the process of writing about and reading his contemporary America. As a predecessor of a homosexual utopian vision of America, Whitman has inspired many later poets, showing a possibility of infusing a homosexual identity into a radical imaging of the nation and its future.

Functional protein of MB78 bacteriophage having apparent molecular weight of 22 kDa is expressed from 1.7 kb HindIII G fragment. The nucleotide sequence of this fragment showed two open reading frames of 222 and 196 codons in tail-to-tail orientation separated by a 62-nucleotide intercistronic region. The ORF of 22 kDa protein is present in opposite orientation, i.e. in the complementary strand, preceded by a strong ribosomal binding site and a promoter sequence. Another ORF started from the beginning of the fragment whose promoter region and translational start site lies in the 0.45 kb HincII U fragment which is located next to the HindIII G fragment, that has the sequence for DNA bending. 3' end of the fragment has high sequence homology to the EaA and EaI proteins of bacteriophage P22, a close relative of MB78 phage.

The extraction of lip region is essential to Lip Reading, which is a field of image processing to get some meaningful information by the analysis of lip movement from human face image. Many conventional methods to extract lip region are proposed. One is getting the position of lip by using geometric face structure. The other discriminates lip and skin regions by using color information only. The former is more complex than the latter, however it can analyze black and white image also. The latter is very simple compared to the former, however it is very difficult to discriminate lip and skin regions because of close similarity between these two regions. And also, the accuracy is relatively low compared to the former. Conventional analysis of color coordinate systems are mostly based on specific extraction scheme for lip regions rather than coordinate system itself. In this paper, the method for selection of effective color coordinate system and chromaticity transformation to discriminate these two lip and skin region are proposed.

To investigate the relationship between voice and the image created by the voice, a perception experiment was undertaken in which voices of 8 males and 8 females reading a fairy tale were recorded and presented to 100 subjects along with the speakers' pictures. Two kinds of pictures were taken: one, a whole-body picture, and the other, a face-only close-up picture. Subjects were asked to match each voice with its owner. The results showed that out of 8, more than 4 were matched correctly. And the correct rate was higher when the voices were matched against the whole-body pictures than against the face-only pictures. In addition, it was noted that far more people picked a single voice as the most 'favorite' one than they picked one picture as the most 'favorite' image.

Laodiceanism is the blueprint from which Hardy draws one of his most ingenuous effects: the creating of a Laodicean around which the novel constructs its ambiguity. Hardy's command of "ingenuity" joins both the leading heroine Paula and the minor character Dare into the same category of a Laodicean. Alongside Paula, Dare is the most important ingredient in the novel in that he acts as an enigmatic persona defying the reader's attempts to establish a coherent type. This paper aims to offer a close reading of Dare's life story, which is chosen for discussion as he has been deemed as a simple functionary and thus apparently escaped serious critical notice thus far. It is stressed that the structure of sensations Dare embodies is fascinating in the sense that it is a locus where the coexistence of both meaning and nonmeaning would not amount to harmonious peace or stability so much as permits the impossibility of single and central significance. In this coexistence is inscribed a notion that the binaries in opposition are endlessly inter-mingled in dialogic tension, which is the hallmark of Laodiceanism that Hardy aims to present through the creation of Dare.

As a result of the global effect of infectious diseases like COVID-19, remote patient monitoring has become a vital need. Surgical ICU monitors are attached around the clock for patients in critical care. Most ICU monitor systems, on the other hand, lack an output port for transferring data to an auxiliary device for post-processing. Similarly, strapping a slew of wearables to a patient for remote monitoring creates a great deal of discomfort and limits the patient's mobility. Hence, an unique remote monitoring technique for the ICU monitor's physiologically vital readings has been presented, recognizing this need as a research gap. This mechanism has been put to the test in a variety of modes, yielding an overall accuracy of close to 90%.

Regardless of area, public libraries should establish its status as the knowledge and information service center, cultural enjoyment and lifelong learning space in close contact with everyday life. To do this, it is necessary to survey the citizen's perception of the public library. In this study, researchers investigated and analyzed the perception of Daegu citizens including the weight and importance of public libraries, library use status and reasons for non-use, reading program participation and reasons for non-participation, and regions that require new library facilities. Based on these results, researchers suggested the measures to strengthen the infrastructure of public library and to increase its use in conjunction with other relevant data, that is, domestic and international researches, related laws, national reading survey, national cultural infrastructure overview, Daegu citizen survey, Daegu city brand perception survey, and the status of public libraries in national and Daegu Metropolitan City.
