  • Objectives : In the clinical field, it is important to understand the factors that have effects on a certain disease or symptom. For this, many researchers apply Data Mining method to the clinical data that they have collected. One of the efficient methods for Data Mining is decision tree induction. Many researchers have studied to find the best split criteria of decision tree; however, various split criteria coexist. Methods : In this paper, we applied several split criteria(Information Gain, Gini Index, Chi-Square) to Sasang constitutional clinical information and compared each decision tree in order to find optimal split criteria. Results & Conclusion : We found BMI and body measurement factors are important factors to Sasang constitution by analyzing produced decision trees with different split measures. And the decision tree using information gain had the highest accuracy. However, the decision tree that produced highest accuracy is changed depending on given data. So, researcher have to try to find proper split criteria for given data by understanding attribute of the given data.

  • Purpose. This intra-patient retrospective study of up to 10 years evaluated the clinical success and risk factors of 6- and 8-mm long implants and their respective prostheses. Materials and Methods. The sample consisted of patients treated at a Military Polyclinic dental service, who received both 6- and 8-mm long tissue level implants in the posterior region of the same arch. Data were collected from the dental charts, clinical and radiographic exams, self-report of sleep bruxism, measurement of maximum occlusal force, and clinical crown-to-implant (C/I) ratio. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics with univariate and hierarchical multivariate models, at the 0.05 significance level. Results. The 30 patients (27 women) had 85 implants and 83 prostheses. Two implants were lost before prosthesis installation (implant survival: 97.6%). Ten events of prosthetic complication (screw tightening loss) occurred in five patients (success rate: 87.9%) in a single moment. Only the variable C/I ratio had a significant effect for repairable prosthesis complication (P<.05). Conclusion. The results suggest that 6- and 8-mm long implants have similar long-term clinical success for implants and prostheses.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a tool for nutritional assessment, so that home care nurses can make early assessment of patients' nutritional status. Method: The study was done in two parts first a tool was developed to assess nutrition, and second the content validity and clinical validity of the categories and indices were verified. Result: The results of this study are summarized in two ways. First, the nutritional assessment tool was classified into 3 areas, physical measurement, nutritional survey and clinical survey, and into 11 categories with 22 indices. Second, when 5 of the 11 categories were positive, nutritional status was considered to be poor. Conclusion: By developing a clinically useful nutritional assessment tool for patients receiving home care, which was developed in this study, the quality of life for these patients will improve and contribution to the development of a more effective clinical home nursing practice will occur.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the nocturnal enuresis in children using Sensitiv $Imago^{TM}$. Methods Twenty nocturnal enuresis children were tested using Sensitiv $Imago^{TM}$. Results 10 cases showed the lowest score at filter $#5^*$ and 7 cases showed the lowest score at filter $6^*$ in {Express Monitoring} of {Review of System Disorders of Homeostasis}. Conclusions Further study with more samples is necessary to establish the accuracy of Sensitiv $Imago^{TM}$.

  • Objectives: Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in Tourette's Disorder. Methods: Two Tourette's Disorder cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and clinical observations. Results: The patients showed positive changes even after the initial treatment and this effect maintained over the follow-up period. Conclusions: Although it is not clear the effect is a sustaining or temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.
