  • The heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC) system is a very important part of an automotive vehicle: it controls the microclimate inside the passenger's compartment and removes the frost or mist that is produced in cold/rainy weather. In this study, the numerical analysis of the defrost duct in an HVAC system and the de-icing pattern is carried out using commercial CFX-code. The mass flow distribution and flow structure at the outlet of the defrost duct satisfied the duct design specification. For analyzing the de-icing pattern, additional grid generation of solid domain of ice and glass is pre-defined for conductive heat transfer. The flow structure near the windshield, streakline, and temperature fields clearly indicate that the de-icing capacity of the given defrost duct configuration is excellent and that it can be operated in a stable manner. In this paper, the unsteady changes in temperature, water volume fraction, and static enthalpy at four monitoring points are discussed.

  • Oxy-gasification or oxygen-blown gasification, enables a clean and efficient use of coal and opens a promising way to CO2 capture. The coal gasification process of a slurry feed type, entrained-flow coal gasifier was numerically predicted in this paper. The purposes of this study are to develop an evaluation technique for design and performance optimization of coal gasifiers using a numerical simulation technique, and to confirm the validity of the model. By dividing the complicated coal gasification process into several simplified stages such as slurry evaporation, coal devolatilization, mixture fraction model and two-phase reactions coupled with turbulent flow and two-phase heat transfer, a comprehensive numerical model was constructed to simulate the coal gasification process. The influence of turbulence on the gas properties was taken into account by the PDF (Probability Density Function) model. A numerical simulation with the coal gasification model is performed on the Conoco-Philips type gasifier for IGCC plant. Gas temperature distribution and product gas composition are also presented. Numerical computations were performed to assess the effect of variation in oxygen to coal ratio and steam to coal ratio on reactive flow field. The concentration of major products, CO and H2 were calculated with varying oxygen to coal ratio (0.2-1.5) and steam to coal ratio(0.3-0.7). To verify the validity of predictions, predicted values of CO and H2 concentrations at the exit of the gasifier were compared with previous work of the same geometry and operating points. Predictions showed that the CO and H2 concentration increased gradually to its maximum value with increasing oxygen-coal and hydrogen-coal ratio and decreased. When the oxygen-coal ratio was between 0.8 and 1.2, and the steam-coal ratio was between 0.4 and 0.5, high values of CO and H2 were obtained. This study also deals with the comparison of CFD (Computational Flow Dynamics) and STATNJAN results which consider the objective gasifier as chemical equilibrium to know the effect of flow on objective gasifier compared to equilibrium. This study makes objective gasifier divided into a few ranges to study the evolution of the gasification locally. By this method, we can find that there are characteristics in the each scope divided.

  • Hydrogen is a clean, endlessly produced energy and it is easy to store and transfer. So, hydrogen is regarded as next generation energy. Among various ways for hydrogen production, the way to produce hydrogen by water electrolysis can effectively respond to fossil fuel's depletion or climate change. As interest in hydrogen has increased, related research has been actively conducted in many countries. In this study, we analyzed the performance characteristics and safety of water electrolysis system. In this study, we analyzed the performance characteristics and safety of water electrolysis system. The items for safety performance evaluation of the water electrolysis system were derived through analysis of international regulations, codes, and standards on hydrogen. Also, a prototype of the overall safety performance evaluation station was designed and developed. The demonstration test was performed with a prototype $10Nm^3/h$ class water electrolysis system that operated stably under various pressure conditions while measuring the stack and system efficiency. At 0.7MPa, the efficiency of the alkaline water electrolysis stack and the system that used in this study was 76.3% and 49.8% respectively. Through the GC analysis in produced $H_2$, the $N_2$ (5,157ppm) and $O_2$ (1,646 ppm) among Ar, $O_2$, $N_2$, CO and $CO_2$ confirmed as main impurities. It can be possible that the result of this study can apply to establish the safety standards for the hydrogen production system by water electrolysis.

  • The contamination effect of toluene in the airstream on PEM fuel cell performance was studied with various toluene concentration under different operation conditions. And the recovery of the cell performance by applying clean air and the removal of toluene in the air by adsorption of active carbon were investigated. The toluene concentration range used in the experiments was from 0.1 ppm to 5.0 ppm. The performance degradation and recovery were measured by constant-current discharging and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). Toluene adsorption capacity of KOH impregnated active carbon was obtained from the adsorption isotherm curve. The severity of the contamination increased with increasing toluene concentration, current density and air stoichiometry, but decrease with increasing relative humidity. The cell performance was recovered by toluene oxidation with oxygen and water in humidified neat air. EIS showed that the increase of charge transfer resistance due to toluene adsorption on Pt surface mainly reduced the performance of PEMFC. Toluene adsorption capacity of active carbon decreased as KOH weight increased in KOH impregnated active carbon.

  • Now many sustitution and false articles is used in korea instead of heshouwu. To use heshouwu correctly, we will make a quilitative certificational plan of heshouwu to investigate all of lieraturea, records and documents. And we could reach conclusions as folloews. 1) Source of plant Heshouwu is a root tuber of a perennial herb Polygonum multiflorum Thunberg(Family : Polygonaceae). 2) Harvest After planting 3-5 yaers, harvesting in an autumn, washin clean the mud, a big heshouwu cut off a half or section, dry in sunny place or at a little fire. When harvesting, we harvest only a big thing, a small thing transfer a field, after culturing of 1-2 years, harvest at big roots. Harvesting is done usually in an autumn after 3 years. When collecting a seed, we must harvest a heshouwu the next year. 3) Process We must process heshouwu at the decoction of black beans, heshouwu suck in the decoction of black beans, heat with steam in an iron pot. Black beans is used every 100 kg of heshouwu. 4) Quility (1) Funstional standards It is good that weight is heavy and outer skin is yellow-brown, section surface is light red color, powdery and has a figure such as clouds in section. • Owing to the increasing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), appropriate management of their waste batteries is required urgently for scrapped vehicles or for addressing battery aging. With respect to technological developments, data-driven diagnosis of waste EV batteries and management technologies have drawn increasing attention. Moreover, robot-based automatic dismantling technologies, which are seemingly interesting, require industrial verifications and linkages with future battery-related database systems. Among these, it is critical to develop and disseminate various advanced battery diagnosis and assessment techniques to improve the efficiency and safety/environment of the recirculation of waste batteries. Incorporation of lithium-related chemical substances in the public pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR) database as well as in-depth risk assessment of gas emissions in waste EV battery combustion and their relevant fire safety are some of the necessary steps. Further research and development thus are needed for optimizing the lifecycle management of waste batteries from various aspects related to data-based diagnosis/classification/disassembly processes as well as reuse/recycling and final disposal. The idea here is that the data should contribute to clean design and manufacturing to reduce the environmental burden and facilitate reuse/recycling in future production of EV batteries. Such optimization should also consider the future technological and market trends.

  • The MRLs (maximum residue limits) of DDT (DDD and DDE) in fresh ginseng, dried ginseng, and steamed red ginseng are set as low as 0.01 mg/kg, 0.05 mg/kg, and 0.05 mg/kg, respectively. Therefore, this study was undertaken to develop a simple and highly sensitive analysis method, as well as to reduce interfering ginseng matrix peaks, for the determination of DDT isomers (o,p'-DDE, p,p'-DDE, o,p'-DDD, p,p'-DDD, o,p'-DDT, and p,p'-DDT) in fresh ginseng, dried ginseng, and steamed red ginseng at the 0.01 mg/kg level. The method used acetonitrile extraction according to simultaneous analysis, followed by normal-phase Florisil solid-phase extraction column clean-up. The purification method entailed the following steps: (1) dissolve the concentrated sample extract in 7 mL hexane; (2) add 3 mL of $H_2SO_4$; (3) vigorously shake on avortex mixer; (4) cetrifuge at 2000 rpm for 5 min; (5) transfer 3.5 mL of the supernatant to the Florisil-SPE (500 mg/6 mL);and (6) elute the SPE column with 1.5 mL of hexane and 10 mL of ether/hexane (6:94). The determination of DDT isomers was carried out by a gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-${\mu}$ECD). The hexane and ether/hexane (6:94) eluate significantly removed chromatographic interferences, and the addition of 30% $H_2SO_4$ to the acetonitrile extract effectively reduced many interfering ginseng matrix peaks, to allow for the determination of the DDT isomers at the 0.01 mg/kg level. The recoveries of the 6 fortified (most at 0.01 mg/kg) DDT isomers from fresh ginseng, dried ginseng, and steamed red ginseng ranged from 87.9 to 99.6%. The MDLs (method detection limits) ranged from 0.003 to 0.009 mg/kg. Finally, the application of this method for the determination of DDT isomers is sensitive, rapid, simple, and inexpensive.

  • Investigations have been started to set the modern history and national spirit to rights after Commissions were established. Those Commissions are established and operated with time limit to finish its own missions. They creates three kinds of records as acquired materials which acquired or are donated for investigation; investigation records as investigation reports; and administrative records that created while supporting organization's operation. The Commissions use more past records to do special tasks asnation's slate clean and uncovering the truth than other agencies. In other words, the commissions take the most advantages of well-managed records, however, their record management environment and operation systems are relatively loose than other permanent machineries. It has three reasons that; first, there is no record management regulations and criteria for machineries that have time limit. This affected each commissions 'systems and 6 Truth Commissions' record management systems are built separately and on the different level; Second, members lack responsibility from frequent sending, reinstatement, change, and restructuring and that makes troubles to produce and manage records; Third, central archives pay less attention to machineries that operated limited period as the truth commissions. The Commissions rather need more systematic control because its records have historical value. To solve these problems, record management regulations have to be prepared first with features of organizations running limited time and commissions' records as acquired materials or investigation records. Furthermore, building up standard record management system for the Commissions, standardizing transfer data, imposing professional record personnel, and setting limits frequent personnel changes would finish practical problems. Besides, those records created to reveal the truth should use for education and research because Truth Commissions are established to set unfortunate history right and not to repeat it again. The records would serve as steppingstone for establishment of the Truth Record Center that does education, information work, publication, and research with the records. The record center would help using the records efficiently and improving knowledge for its people. And, the center should devote people to recognize importance of the records.
