After latter half of the 1990 it has come out urban decline in big and middle & small cities. The purpose of this study is to review the methods of resident participation for community revitalization in civil renaissance through literature study. This study is divided into fourth parts. In the first part, the history of civil renaissance in Japan, German and England for getting grip on the situation is studied. In the second part, concepts of resident participation and community is dealed with. And the tendency of resident participation for community revitalization in civil renaissance is investigated through preceding researches. The third part and the last one are methods and conclusons and suggestions of resident participation revitalization in civil renaissance.

The purpose of this study is to present systematic information and direction to urban underground space development industry, civil engineering and R&D. Regarding the development of urban underground space, the situation in Korea, especially now in Seoul, can be called an underground Renaissance. The Superground project, which has been going on for several years through international competition, is now completed and is about to open the Seoul Architecture Museum. Leading underground space complex development project of Yeongdongdaero, which is the largest living underground space in human history, spectral projects such as the Seoul section of the GTX routes, making underground roads of the Dongbu Expressway and the Seobu Expressway are now speeding up progress. Recently, plans have been made to use the underground more actively through the restructuring project of Gwanghwamun Square, the face of Seoul. And then, patents are indispensable resources for establishing a strategy for R&D as one of the indices showing what technologies have been developed and what technology development will be done in the future. Based on this background, this study attempts to classify and define the technical elements of urban underground space development through the analysis of patents of major countries in the world, and analyze and present state of technology level and situation accordingly.

Since late 1990's the urban decline phenomenon has risen in most provincial cities in Korea. Many lively discussions have also risen about how to revitalize declined urban center. In small cities, especially resident participation is very important to revive their old vividness. The study then reviewed literatures published from 1995 to 2007 regarding resident participation in urban center revitalization for community reinvigoration. This study consists of four parts. The first part defined concepts of community and of resident participation, and included discussion about resident participation codes. In the second part, the problems about community formation and community facilities were scrutinized through preceding researches. The third and last parts suggested some propositions and strategies to draw resident participation into urban center revitalization.

The Endless Column by Constantin Brâncuşi is "the most radical sculpture in the history of classic modernism", "the only one of modern times that can be compared with the great Egyptian, Greek and Renaissance monuments". It "is not only an artistic masterpiece, but also an extraordinary feat of engineering", the greatest example of collaboration between a sculptor and an engineer. This article illustrates the path that led the artist to conception of the column, its planning and construction, the investigations on preservation of the monument and its restoration, the aerodynamic tests in the wind tunnel, the modeling of the wind and the structure in virtue of which the aeroelastic instability, dynamic response and fatigue life were investigated. The conclusions discuss the column's role in the panorama of the great works of modern engineering.

최근 철도정책이 KTX 개통 이후 속도 향상, 편의성 개선, 역 중심의 공간창출 등 이용자 서비스 중심으로 전환하는 중에 있다. 이는 철도의 차별화 서비스 전략으로 녹색교통수단의 입지를 강화하고자 하는 데 있다. 이러한 철도 유틸리티 개선 노력에도 불구하고 국민의 자동차 의존적 교통행동양식 때문에 자동차에서 철도로의 전환에 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 수도권 통근자 대상으로 자동차 의존성을 분석하였다. 자동차 의존성 분석결과 환경의식은 대중교통만족도와 함께 자동차 의존성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수로 작용하였고, 이는 철도 서비스 개선과 함께 환경의식을 이용한 사회마케팅이 자동차의존성을 약화시킬 수 있는 정책대안이 될 수 있다 것을 확인하였다.

본 논문은 에드윈 어스틴 애비의 벽화 ${\ll}$성배의 탐색${\gg}$에 등장하는 중세 기사의 기원과 사회적 기능에 관한 연구이다. 미국 문화에서 중세 기사 유형은 1850년대 말문학에서 먼저 등장했으며, 1870년대에는 정치 카툰에서도 다루어졌다. 아메리칸 르네상스 벽화 중에서는 1895년 애비의 벽화에서 처음 나타났다. 중세 기사는 영국에서 라파엘전파 화가들이 즐겨 그린 주제였다. 영국에서활동한 애비는 라파엘전파 회화와 로열 아카데미의 회화 전통을 종합하여 중세기사를 형상화했다. 그러나 신체적 활동에 기반한 모험담을 강조한 라파엘전파화가들과 달리, 애비는 기사의 도덕성을 강조했다. 이는 애비가 1890년대 미국도금시대의 사회적, 경제적 상황을 고려한 결과로 풀이된다. 미국은 남북전쟁 이후 경제적 번영을 이루었으나 화려한 경제 성장 이면에는 사회의 안정과 결속을해치는 부정부패, 빈부격차, 그로 인한 계급사회의 갈등이 도사리고 있었다. 극심한 빈부 격차는 사회적 위기로 이어졌다. 문학과 미술에서는 이에 대한 자각과 자성을 촉구했다. 애비는 도금시대 자본가의 만행을 고발하고 개혁의 희망을 담은벽화 ${\ll}$성배의 탐색${\gg}$을 제작했으며, 개혁의 이상을 실현시킬 수 있는 지도자의 상징으로 갤러해드를 선택했다. 애비의 벽화는 보스턴 공공 도서관에 설치되어 정부의 부패와 그로 인한 경제적, 사회적 혼란에 대한 경각심을 불러일으키고 자치 단체의 도덕성 쇄신을 촉구하는 공적 기능을 수행했다. 도덕적 책임감을 강조한 애비의 미국형 기사는 또한 애국심을 고취하는 매개체가 되었다. 이 작품에서 중세 유럽 기사는 미국 시민으로 탄생했으며, 시민적 덕목을 지닌 지도자의 표상으로 변화했다.

상수도 공급을 위한 정수장에서 전염소 또는 중염소 공정이 도입된 수처리 공정의 염소농도 관리에 필요한 공정제어를 위하여 AI 기술을 활용한 수질예측 기법이 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정수장 수처리 공정에서 실시간으로 관측, 생산되고 있는 수량·수질자료를 이용하여 염소소독 공정제어 자동화를 목적으로 침전지 후단의 잔류염소 농도를 예측하기 위한 AI 기반 예측모형을 개발하였다. AI 기반 예측모형은 과거 수질 관측자료를 학습하여 이후 시점의 수질에 대한 예측이 가능한 기법으로, 복잡한 물리·화학·생물학적 수질모형과 달리 간단하고 효율적이다. 다중회귀 모형과 AI 기반 모형인 랜덤포레스트와 LSTM을 이용하여 정수장의 침전지 후단 잔류염소 농도를 예측하여 비교하였다. 최적의 잔류염소 농도 예측을 위한 AI 모형의 입출력 구조로는 침전지 전단의 잔류염소 농도, 침전지 탁도, pH, 수온, 전기전도도, 원수의 유입량, 알칼리도, NH₃ 등을 독립변수로, 예측하고자 하는 침전지 유출수의 잔류염소 농도를 종속변수로 선정하였다. 독립변수는 침전지 후단의 잔류염소에 영향이 있는 정수장에서 확보가 가능한 관측자료중에서 분석을 통해 선별하였으며, 분석 결과 연구대상 정수장인 정수장에서는 중회귀모형, 신경망모형, 모델트리 및 랜덤포레스트 모형을 비교한 결과 랜덤포레스트에 기반한 모형오차가 가장 낮게 도출되는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 침전지 후단의 적정 잔류염소 농도 예측값은 이전 처리단계에서 염소주입량의 실시간 제어가 가능토록 할 수 있어 수처리 효율 향상과 약품비 절감에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
