This studies is the typological study to classify the characteristics of Floor plan in wooden house that is built in the suburb of Korea through case studies. For this type classification, I took several criteria as follows: number of floors, location of entrance, approach way to inner room, location of step, arrangement way of public space and private space, those are considered as important elements for the determination of Floor plan. Ive got 10 representative types by analysing and synthesizing the relationship between these elements. I expect that these study results would be good materials for the developing new model of wooden houses that is more proper to our life.

A human body can be called the scale of all things and the most perfect and sensual presentation of form. Its beautiful proportion has been used as the most important measure of all the natural organic beings. The attitude of research based on the human scale is so traditional both in East and West, and especially in the field of architecture. It has been the ground of most standards in various buildings and cities from the ancient times. This study aims to examine the way the human body has been investigated in history and to find out how it is applied and expressed as the scale in architecture or interior spaces. It takes a step forward from mere research of proportion by studying even the emotional and psychological relations between space and human beings. It may contribute to the creation of the space for human beings.

This report is that the scenery of the town with a different measure is different. There are the framework and the story in the rural communities master plan . This master plan's story intends the self-help and living with meaning of citizens in own city and town. It is the philosophy of the master plan that citizens' daily bread is the local resourses, lives in safety and keeps the healthy living. But these contents are the different means by the condition of each cities' and towns' geography. The scenery of introducing two towns appears to each different plan by different conditions.

In modern society, the competition between cities than the competition between countries has been important in general. This kind of a new paradigm has spread worldwide. As a result, public design, naturally, have emreged one of the major trends to get the competitive of city. A lot of public design studies and case study have been published, especially in the city area. But there is not any kind of result public study in local and rural areas. So, for the purpose of revitalizing public design, this study is to propose the public design execution plan and execution plan elements that give the competitiveness of local city and rural areas.

The purpose of this study is to provide a basic information for the plan of neighborhood facilities as residential environment. For the purpose of this study, this paper is to investigate all criteria of neighborhood unit on the related laws and regulations, As a result, the legal criteria of neighborhood unit has come to no conclusion of terms(the neighborhood life facilities, the life benifit facilities, the neighborhood facilities, etc.) and ranges(the density of population, the number of floors, etc). Therefore a consistent neighborhood unit can be applied to the development plans of new cities as well as new residential areas for the future.

The purpose of this study is to understand the trends of urban housing in the age of modernization in Western cities since 1970's, and to provide the useful data for diversifying urban housing types in Korea. Although the housing types can be categorized in many ways according to the points of view, this study classifies 11 types by a criterion of urban composition elements. Among 11 urban housing types, one type, free-standing slab structure, has been mainly applied to Korean situation. The reason might be that the free-standing structure type is the most efficient one in terms of land use and block organization, but it results in a monotonic condition of urban housing blocks. Therefore, taking local characteristics and urban contexts in Korea into consideration, the future urban housing design should be developed in different ways of making local life styles possible in them, by adopting various types of Western urban housing precedents.

This research is to analyze the characteristics of housing remodeling behaviors within detached houses that located at three small cities in the central part of Korea. The characteristics indicate similar aspects of maintenance and improvement behaviors in the occurrence time and space, while space alteration shows different aspects. In the frequency of occurrences, maintenance behaviors occurring in the point of building maintenance and preservation is performed most actively, the next is improvement behaviors, and space alteration behaviors is the lowest frequency. Type of remodeling behaviors shows the characteristics that maintenance behaviors are active in served spaces(bed room space, family living space) while alteration and improvement behaviors occur more in servant spaces.(household working space, outdoor space and sanitary space)

Outdoor lighting is an important factor of urban scape. As a night image of the city, outdoor lighting acts important roles. Cities of developed countries have already had night images of their cites. About this, government is encouraging outdoor lighting of building by various ways. However, in present, outdoor lighting of headquarter buildings was not activated more than that of public buildings in our country. From this point of view, this paper presents a method to measure outdoor lighting effects as quantitative aspects for outdoor lighting activation. Presented the method of outdoor lighting effects is difficult to apply all buildings. Therefore, this paper limits the target to the headquarter buildings.

Most utiltity systems are subject to frequent changes, often due to increased loads and demand to up-grade quality of service provided. Urban renewal, expressway construction and suburban growth have also caused significant changes in urban utility distribution systems. Recently, it is required that a guideline for planning of a complete system, the reasonable design and construction methods for the efficient installation common utility tunnels must be estabilished. It prompts drastic measures to guard cities and their inhabitants against the horror of massive fires in the future. Preparedness holds the key to safety.

최근 지방 도시들이 지역의 전통 문화와 문화재 그리고 이들과 연관된 지역 문화축제에 관심을 기울이면서 조선시대 각 읍치에 설치되었던 관영시설(官營施設)들을 복원 정비하고 있다. 지방 관영시설의 복원 정비후 대두되는 중요한 과제는 무엇보다 그의 활용 문제라 할 수 있는데, 이와 관련하여 과거 읍치의 관영시설에서 행해졌던 행례의 재현이 자주 거론되고 있다. 그러나 증폭된 관심과 현실적 요구에 비하여 관련분야의 연구는 극히 미약한 실정이다. 이는 무엇보다 관련 자료가 매우 적고 제한적이란 점에 기인한 것으로 관련 자료의 발굴 검토가 중요한 선결 과제로 대두되고 있다. 본고는 이러한 점에 중점을 두고 조선시대 지방관이 작성한 일기류(日記類)를 발굴하여 그 내용을 조사 검토하였으며, 검토된 일기류를 토대로 지방 읍치시설의 이용과 관련된 내용을 살펴 향후 지방관 작성 일기류가 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.
