The least squares cross validated bandwidth is the mini-mizer of the corss validation function for choosing the smooth parame-ter of a kernel density estimator. It is a completely automatic method but it requires inordinate amounts of computational time. We present a convenient formula for calculation of the cross validation function when the kernel function is a symmetric polynomial with finite sup-port. Also we suggest an algorithm for finding global minima of the crass validation function.

The trend of well-being image in this 21st century has been developed by issuing 'Health and Long life' integrating the quality. We are characterize the colors of the nature with emotional feelings of Korean people with respect to Korea four seasons and adapt it into choosing subtle colors in interior design for the good space of well-being image.

In this paper, we explore the economic principle behind the revenue-sharing rule for interconnection charges. First, we assert that firms can collude by splitting tile revenues equally i.e., choosing the revenue-sharing ratio equal to l/2. Also, we characterize the optimal revenue-sharing ratio in a model of horizontal interconnection and discuss the relation between the optimal ratio and the optimal access price.

This paper considers the sequencing problem in mixed model assembly lines with hybrid workstation types and sequence-dependent setup times. Computation time is often a critical factor in choosing a method of determining the sequence. We develop a mathematical formulation of the problem to minimize the overall length of a line, and present a tabu search technique which can provide a near optimal solution in real time. The proposed technique is compared with a genetic algorithm and a branch-and-bound method. Experimental results are reported to demonstrate the efficiency of the technique.

Lighting is the most critical aspect of any machine vision application. Choosing the proper lighting scheme can result in increased accuracy, system reliablity, and response time. Many goof applications have failed for the lack of appropriate lighting. It is a serious and costly mistake to assume that inadequate lighting can be compensated for in an algorithm Therefore, this paper will cover the most commonly used forms of lighting methods.

The aim of this paper is to find a suitable design which minimizes the expected discrepancy: in fitting a first order model fearing quadratic terms as bias where there are more than two correlated responses. Kim and Draper(1994) discussed about choosing a design for straight line fits to two correlated responses The general case with r responses is examined here and the result is applied to a specific case to help understandings.

Statistically illiterate people seem to believe that there are some strategies for choosing winning numbers in lottery. One seemingly plausible strategy is to select the hot numbers which most frequently appeared in the past. In this article we investigate the existence of hot numbers in the Korean national lottery called Lotto. A numerical method is proposed to estimate the exact sampling distribution of test statistic for checking the existence of hot numbers among 45 possible numbers of choice.

Optimal collision avoidance algorithm for unmanned aerial vehicles based on proportional navigation guidance law is investigated this paper. Although proportional navigation guidance law is widely used in missile guidance problems, it can be used in collision avoidance problem by guiding the relative velocity vector to collision avoidance vector. The optimal navigation coefficient can be obtained if an obstacle if an obstacle moves at constant velocity vector. The stability of the proposed algorithm is also investigated. The stability can be obtained by choosing a proper navigation coefficient.
