지체장애주부의 조직적인 행동과 가족구성원의 참여도 조사연구 (Physically Disabled Homemaker's Organizational Activities and Family Participation)

  • The objectives of this study were as follows: 1) To describe the group of selected disabled homemakers in terms of demographic and medical variables related to organizational activities in the home and family participation in household activities. 2) To identify those demograhpic and medical variables that were related to organizational activities in the home and family participation in household activities. 3) To identify relationship between organizational activities in the home and family participation in household activities. Questionnaires were given to the selected disabled homemakers living in Seoul. The sample was small(N=35) and it was not random; therefore generalizations could not be made to the population as a whole. Data were analyzed by mean, Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance by ranks, and Spearman rank correlation coefficients. Homemaker's organizational activities were measured by 16 items about physical and mental activities from Mumaw's Organizational Activities Index. Family participation in household activities was measured by 8 items about how often family members participated in two areas of household activities: house chores and extra-activities. The results were as follows: 1) The homemaker's higher organizational activities scores were associated with younger homemaker, higher the level of education, small households, and higher the economic status. The homemaker without children performed better organizational household activities. The homemaker with shorter the duration of disability performed better organizational activities. The homemaker who needed crutches for mobility performed better organizational household activities. 2) The homemaker who was younger, higher the level of education, with smaller households, and lower the economic level was helped by husband. Husband helped better the homemaker with shorter the duration of disability in household activities. 3) Factors affecting children's participation in disabled homemaker's house chores and extra-activities were the age of homemaker and the marital status. The homemaker was single and older, the children were more helpful. 4) Task standardization score was the highest among the factors of homemaker's organizational activities and families with a disabled homemaker participated more extensively than families with abled homemaker. 5) Significant intercorrelation was found between the dependent variables.

  • Improving mental health and reducing the burden of mental illness are complementary strategies which, along with the treatment and rehabilitation of people with mental disorders, significantly improve population health and well-being. A Institute of Medicine report describes a range of interventions for mental disorders that included treatment and maintenance, reserving the term "prevention" for efforts that occur before onset of a diagnosable disorder. Mental health problems affect 10-20% of children and adolescents worldwide. Despite their relevance as a leading cause of health-related disability and their long lasting consequences, the mental health needs of children and adolescents are neglected. Early intervention can help reduce the significant impacts that children and adolescents with serious mental health problems may experience. Screening is the first step in early intervention, recognizing emotional and behavioral problems and providing help at an early stage. It is essential to implement early intervention in a sensitive and ethical manner to avoid any of the negative outcomes.

휠체어 장애인과 함께하는 장애예방교육의 융·복합 효과에 관한 연구 : 초등학생을 중심으로 (A Study of Effect of Disability Prevention Program Acquired by People with Disabilities are Performed : centered on Elementary School Students)

  • 본 연구는 충남지역 일부 초등학교 학생들을 대상으로 제공된 휠체어 장애인과 함께하는 장애예방 교육이 연구대상자의 안전에 대한 자기효능감과 심리적 변화에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 시도된 단일군 전후 설계에 의한 유사실험 연구이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 충남지역 초등학생 1,167명이며 수집된 자료 중 자기효능감의 변화는 SPSS Windows 22.0 program을 사용하여 분석하였고, 심리적 변화는 주관식 문항을 질적 분석하였다. 연구결과, 연구 대상자의 안전에 대한 자기효능감은 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었고(Z=-26.109, p<.01), 안전 행동으로 실천하고자 하는 의지와 신념을 형성할 뿐 아니라 장애인 강사를 통해 장애인에 대한 인식이 개선됨을 넘어 감사 존경 등의 긍정적인 심리적 변화를 경험하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 장애인 강사가 진행하는 장애예방교육은 안전문화 확립과 장애인에 대한 인식개선을 위해 더욱 활성화 되어야 할 것이다.

초등학교 고학년 학생의 장애아동에 대한 인식 조사 (A Survey on the Attitude of Grade-schoolers Without Disabilities Toward Children With Disabilities)

  • 목적 : 초등학교 고학년 학생의 장애아동에 대한 인식을 알아보는 것이다. 연구방법 : 연구 대상은 김해시에 소재한 통합교육을 실시하지 않는 초등학교의 4, 5, 6학년의 비장애 아동이었다. 연구 기간은 2008년 10월 2일부터 10월 17일까지였으며, 설문지를 사용하였다. 설문지의 하위 영역은 사귐, 활 동, 학업 영역의 세 부분으로 각 10문항으로 이루어져 있으며 SPSS 12.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과 : 장애아동에 대한 인식조사 결과 첫째, 성별에 따른 인식은 남학생보다 여학생의 평균 점수가 높았으나 통계 적으로 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 둘째, 학년에 따른 인식은 4학년의 평균 점수가 가장 높았고 6학년이 가장 낮았으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다(F=3.546, p<0.05). 셋째, 장애인 접촉 유무에 따른 인식은 접촉 경험이 없는 학생이 있는 학생보다 평균점수가 높았으나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 결론 : 비장애학생의 장애아동에 대한 인식은 학년에 따라 차이가 있었다. 본 연구는 작업치료사들에게 장애아동에 대한 또래집단의 인식에 대한 정보를 제공함으로써 학교환경에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있을 것이다.

뇌성마비, 다운증후군, 일반 아동의 ICF-CY와 삶의 질 연구 (A Comparison of the ICF-CY and Quality of Life among Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Typically Developing Children)

  • 본 연구는 뇌성마비, 다운증후군, 일반 아동의 ICF-CY (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health-Version for Children and Youth)의 기능, 활동과 참여, 삶의 질을 측정하여 세 집단 간의 차이를 비교 분석하고자 실시하였다. 4~12세의 뇌성마비, 다운증후군 아동, 일반 아동을 대상으로 ICF-CY 체크리스트, 삶의 질 설문지를 통해 아동의 ICF-CY와 삶의 질을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 뇌성마비 아동, 다운증후군 아동, 일반 아동 세 그룹 간에 ICF-CY 기능은 비뇨생식기와 생식기능 항목을 제외하고 모든 부분에서 유의한 차이가 나타났고(p<.05), ICF-CY 활동과 참여에서는 모든 항목에서 유의한 차이가 나타났으며(p<.05), 사후 분석에서 이동 항목을 제외하고, 일반 아동, 뇌성마비 아동, 다운 증후군 아동 순으로 높은 활동과 참여를 보였다. 삶의 질은 괴롭힘 항목을 제외하고 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 뇌성마비 아동, 다운증후군 아동은 일반 아동 보다 낮은 삶의 질을 보였다. 이상의 결과를 볼 때, 활동과 참여 및 삶의 질은 세 그룹 간의 유의한 차이가 있었고, 일반 아동, 뇌성마비 아동, 다운증후군 아동 순으로 기능, 활동과 참여 및 삶의 질이 높음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of permanent damage to central nervous system cells, most cases with oxygen deprivation in the nenonate due to birth asphyxia. Survival children with HIE develop problems such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning difficulties, and other permanent neuro-developmental disabilities. This article report two cases of the children with HIE who had be traumatized on their teeth from oropharyngeal airway (OPA) in the emergency situation. The patients with the disease accompanying seizure or convulsion, needs special consideration for the prevention from dental trauma in emergency airway management.

  • The elements of a medium for gathering the able bodied and the disable bodied children are examined within the scope of this study. Starting from the importance of play for the children, the characteristics and the properties of middle childhood are chosen as domain. This study showed that though most of the playground sites were accessible to Physically disabled Children, and were safety. For Physically disabled Children, the opportunities to play in a play area depend largely on the accessibility of the facilities, this study also explored the play experience of children with disability. The play spaces and the playgrounds including the equipment are examined. The results of study suggest there be creatived planning items in terms of accessibility and domain, which, in detail, are summarized in following six points; Accessibility, Barrier-free, convenience, movement, safety, domain. A guideline on the design of an accessible & safety playground for Physically disabled Children should be made.

학령 전 발달장애아 어머니의 시간관리행동과 시간관리만족도 및 양육스트레스와의 관계 (The Relationship between Time Management Behavior and Parenting Stress among Mothers of Preschool Children with Developmental Disabilities)

  • This study focuses on the relationship between time management behavior and parenting stress of mothers with developmentally disabled children. The participants of this study were 162 mothers whose children have developmental disabilities and attend pre-school and social welfare centers for early education. This study investigates the time management behaviors of the participants, and whether these behaviors have an effect on their time management satisfaction and parenting stress. The findings were as follows: 1) The time management behaviors of the participants were lower than average, scoring 2.87 out of 5. The order of dimensional scores from highest to lowest were sequencing, planning, recording habits, evaluating, and setting goals. 2) Time management satisfaction and parenting stress for the participants exhibited a negative correlation. 3) Adaptation behaviors of the children and time management behaviors of the mothers were factors that had significant effects on the mothers' parenting stress. These results showed the importance of time management for mothers with developmentally disabled children.

장애아동 현금급여 및 현물급여정책이 장애아동 주양육자의 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effects of disability in kind benefit and cash benefit policies on the main carer of a child with a disability service satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 장애아동이 지원받는 현금급여와 현물급여정책이 주양육자의 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구하였다. 장애아동을 대상으로 한 연구들을 살펴본 결과 주양육자의 양육스트레스, 양육부담 그리고 가족 구성원의 어려움 등에 관하여 연구가 이루어졌다. 그러나, 장애아동에게 지원되는 급여정책에 대한 연구는 미비하게 이루어졌으며, 급여의 유형별로 구분하여 주양육자의 서비스 만족도를 다룬 연구 역시 미비함을 발견하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 선행연구에서 보고하고 있는 변수(부모성별, 아동성별, 부모연령, 아동연령, 장애등급, 평균소득)가 서비스 만족에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 서비스 만족도에 영향을 미치는 주요한 변수는 부모연령, 아동연령, 아동성별이 통계적으로 유의미한 결과가 나타났다. 이는 신청절차, 경제적 부담, 지원 및 선정기준, 서비스량, 전반적 만족에 전반적으로 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 현금급여와 현물급여에 대한 함의는, 급여의 금액과 범위 확대, 장애아동의 연령을 고려한 맞춤형 서비스를 제공함으로써 궁극적으로 주양육자의 서비스 만족도를 높일 수 있을 것이다.

The effectiveness of an early intervention program based on electronic games in developing the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities within the age group 2-5 years

  • The current research aimed to ascertain the effectiveness of the early intervention program based on electronic games in developing the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities within the age group of (2-5) years, using the quasi-experimental approach with one group, and the study sample consisted of (11) children with disabilities. Simple and medium intellectuals enrolled in the early intervention program at the Successful Communication Center for Day Care in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and were deliberately selected. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers prepared and applied the visual perception scale after ensuring its validity and stability. Three electronic games were also designed and applied to the sample for (17) sessions. The results showed the effectiveness of the electronic games program in developing the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities within the age group (2-5) years and maintaining this improvement over time. Where the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0.05) between the grades of the group children in the pre and post-measurements on the visual perception skills scale for children with intellectual disabilities in the post-measurement after applying the program, in favor of the post measurement. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0.05) between the grades of the group children in the two post and follow-up measurements on the visual perception skills scale for children with intellectual disabilities in the follow-up measurement which indicates the long-term impact of the program. The researchers recommend the necessity of activating educational programs based on various electronic games to develop the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities and employ them effectively in the educational process for children with intellectual disabilities.
