Children's wear needs extra safety features to avoid unexpected dangers. On the way to school, children are exposed to traffic very often. Especially in the early morning or late evening, or on dark cloudy days, they might be unrecognized by drivers without safety reflectors on their clothing as a means of raising visibility. Therefore, safety reflectors on clothing can protect children from traffic accidents. The research was carried out as follows. 1. Reflector manufacturers were interviewed regarding how Reflective and Reflexite reflect light back to the light source, what kind of safety reflector products are available, and how these materials are being used in the clothing industry. 2. Mothers of primary school children were interviewed to find out what they think about the effect of safety reflectors, the need for clothing using safety reflectors and the design preferences. 3. In order to apply safety reflectors efficiently, the position on the clothing of the greatest visibility from the light source must be determined. 4. Shirts, pants and jumpers for 8-year-old girls and boys were designed as a case study of applying safety reflectors to clothing. The designs were verified through wearing test.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the eco-friendly design characteristics of contemporary children's collections. Photos from FirstviewKorea were utilized for analysis; 29 brands were selected that included children's clothing collections featuring eco-friendly characteristics from 2007 to 2018. The results are as follows. First, naturalness was the most frequent characteristic of environmentally friendly children's collections. It was not conveyed in an eccentric way in any season, showed a relatively uniform distribution, and was seen in various ways, including printed on the fabric and expressed in $appliqu\acute{e}s$ and embroidery. Second, handcrafted features frequently changed according to seasonal trends. Various methods such as beading, embroidery, applique, sewing techniques, and handbags were used, which enhanced manual workability, discrimination from other designs. Third, traditionality is divided into the characteristics of ethnicity and revivalism. National traditions were expressed in the clothing and reflected the current generation while connecting to the past. Fourth, simplicity appeared in classic designs such as simple silhouettes, sparse decoration, natural colors, and comfortable dress length that is not tight on the body. Simplicity was not a frequent feature due to the characteristics of the children's clothing collections. Fifth, playfulness functioned to enhance the children's clothing's wear frequency. Although it was the least frequent of all the characteristics, it seemed to increase the design fun and the clothing's value by fusing with other characteristics such as handcraftedness and naturalness.

This study expects for a chance of children to wear traditional Hanbok or Hanbok-adapted clothes.
This study analyzes how the eco-friendly attitude and benefits pursued in clothing influence the purchase satisfaction of eco-friendly consumers for infants and children's underwear. The survey was conducted from June $1^{st}$ to $20^{th}$ in 2009, and 303 responses were used in the data analysis. A frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted for the statistical analysis. The results show that the eco-friendly attitude is classified by environmental concern, awareness of environmental consumption, and participation in the environmental movement. The benefits pursued in clothing are classified by fashion pursuit, brand pursuit, functional pursuit, personality pursuit, and economical pursuit. The awareness of the environmental consumption factor in the eco-friendly attitude influences the purchase satisfaction of eco-friendly consumers for infants and children's underwear. The goal of this study is to support the children's pants construction methods that secure clothing size and fit appropriateness through proposed improvements of denim pants construction method focusing on 4-year-old boys. Depths interview on the actual condition, measurements and calculations for positions and ease of the clothing points corresponding to the body points actually worn were conducted for 47 denim pants of nine boys. "Characteristics of the areas worn" and "physical characteristics of lower body" were analyzed, and improvements of 4-year-old children's denim pants construction method were proposed. As the results, the different figures in "characteristics of the areas worn" between the existing children's pants construction methods and children's actual wearing habits were found, and identification of distinct children's lower body from adults' supports that we should avoid tracing adults' methods without reasons. Children's pants construction method on basis of actual wearing should be devised to solve fit problems. Improvements of children's method were proposed such as ease of girth by different area worn, ease of "elastic waist girth", the difference between "elastic waist girth" and "pattern waist girth", and the difference between "pattern waist girth" and "pattern hip girth" as considerations of pants girth items, and appropriate position "clothing waist girth" "pants hip length" level, "pants crotch length" level, "clothing knee length" level, and "pants outside length" level for pattern making as considerations of clothing length items.
As the culture develops, the body of children nowadays improves, but their physical fitness is weaker than that of children in the past. If physical fitness strengthens through clothing, this must be the easiest and the most efficient long-range training method. To find out the solutions on the above mentioned problems through clothing, this study was made for the analysis of the correlations of clothing weight and physical fitness. The children's endurance upon cold can be explained by the physical fitness, and has relation with the clothing insulation. Therefore, motor ability was measured as an index of physical fitness and clothing weight was measured as an index of insulation. This observation was made in Spring and Fall, 1985, in which 339 kindergartners and their mothers were the subject. The results of the study were as follows: Physical fitness of children decreased in proportion to the clothing weight, and especially this can be seen in boys rather than in girls, and in Fall rather than in Spring. In case of the children who spent more time outdoors rather than indoors, who played in larger space, and who didn't have meat frequently, it turned out that their clothing weight was surprisingly lessened and their physical fitness was highly food.
Despite the recession that has affected people's consumption of clothing, the 'Gold Kids' market shows steady growth. This study analyzed the characteristics of components that make up infant and children's wear brands. Firstly, this study found the linguistic features of infant and children's clothing brands. Most brand names have common characteristics such as idiomatic expressions, combination and separation of vocabulary, and more than 6 syllables. Also, when they formative brand quality, they frequently used words like 'girl', 'kid' and 'baby' to clarify the category of the brand product. Also it is meant to present a clear brand concept to the target consumer to offer their brand information and product characteristics. Moreover, English is widely used in the brand names, and they used appropriate symbol graphics that fit the titles and qualities of the brands. Second, to strengthen their brand identity and inherent concepts, infant and children's clothing brands normally use their own particular brand colors wich makes special and strong visual impressions on the target consumer. Also, they mainly use applied sans serif typeface showing the softer brand quality. Brand logos have different visual expressions depending on their brand value and the target consumer. The word type of the logos presents clear brand identity and information to the target consumer. Through the study, we found that infant and children's clothing brands tend to use written brand names for the logo type more than graphic symbol logo patterns. This indicates that infant and children's clothing brands tend to emphasize information transfer rather than visual graphic symbols when they organize brand logos.
The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of self-image congruence on attitudes toward purchase intentions of children's clothing via the Behavioral Intention Model. The empirical study was conducted via on-line survey and data were collected from mothers with children aged 6 to 10 years. A total of 593 respondents answered the questionnaire and 574 usable data were statistically analyzed. SPSS 18.0 was used to conduct descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, Chi-square test, ANOVA, and multiple regressions. A K-means cluster analysis was conducted based on three dimensions brand images of children's wear. Respondents were divided into four groups: elegant image group, multiple image group, ordinary image group, and childlike image group. Characteristics of consumers and clothing evaluative criteria that mothers considered important differed significantly across groups. Moreover, based on these groups, each dimension of self-congruence had different effects on brand attitude. Brand attitude and subjective norms had different effects on purchase intentions. In conclusion, levels of self-congruence and factors influencing purchase intention varied according to brand images of children's wear.

Looking at the age range of the basic size chart for each company, the minimum age is 1 year old, the maximum age is 14-15 years old, and all companies included ages up to 7 years. In addition, as for the number of size designations, children's clothing companies used seven to eight designations, and there were six types of size designation methods. Next, looking at the height range for each size, even with the same size designation method, the height range differed depending on the company. Also, the KS size standard does not consider body weight, but many companies use weight as a reference body size. Compared with the child body size data of the 6th Korean Body Size Data, the height and weight range for each size provided by the company showed differences between companies. The results of this study can be used in the future as basic data when revising and supplementing the clothing sizes in children's clothing companies.
