노동인가, 돌봄인가, 여가인가? -전일제 임노동자 맞벌이 부모의 시간배분에 대한 젠더 영향과 학력의 조절효과- (Work, Care or Leisure? - The Effects of Gender and Education on Time Allocation of Full-time Working Parents)

  • 이 연구는 전일제 임노동자인 맞벌이 부모의 유급노동, 자녀돌봄, 여가에 대한 시간배분을 젠더와 학력 요인을 중심으로 살펴본 것이다. 연구 초점은 전일제로 일을 하는 부모의 일, 돌봄, 여가시간에 대한 배분이 전통적인 성역할 이념에 의해 영향을 받는지 여부와, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과가 고학력일 경우에 완화되는지 여부이다. 이에 유급노동시간, 자녀돌봄시간, 여가시간의 비중 각각에 대한 젠더 효과와, 이에 대한 학력의 조절효과 존재 여부를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과와 학력의 조절효과에 대한 가설은 부분적으로 검증되었다. 우선 어머니임은 시간 배분에서 유급노동시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 요인이 아니지만, 돌봄시간 비중을 높이고, 여가시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 영향 요인이다. 즉, 젠더는 생산영역 시간인 노동시간 비중에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않지만, 가족시간인 돌봄시간, 개인적 시간인 여가시간 할당에는 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 한편 학력은 돌봄시간 비중과 여가시간 비중에 대한 젠더 영향에 조절효과를 갖는다. 고학력일수록 부모의 시간 배분에서 돌봄시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 감소한다. 고학력일수록 여가시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 오히려 커진다. 이에 학력 증가는 양성 모두의 자녀돌봄 참여에 대한 인식을 제고하여 돌봄시간 배분에 대한 젠더 격차를 줄일 수 있지만, 가부장적 성역할 인식을 전면적으로 변화시켜 부모의 일상을 일-삶 균형 제고의 방향으로 포괄적으로 변화시킬 것으로 기대하기 어렵다.

보육교사의 건강증진행위 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Health Promotion Behavior of Child Care Teachers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors of the health promotion behavior of child care center teachers. Methods: This study conducted a survey of 200 child day care center teachers in Seoul from January to February, 2017. This study examined the actual condition of health promotion behavior, perceived health status and the determinants of health promotion behavior of child care center teachers. Results: The factors affecting the health promotion behaviors of the child care teachers were age, working time, perceived benefit, barrier, and social support. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply a health promotion program for child care teachers.

유아-교사 간 대화식 저널 작성 활동의 의미 탐색 (Exploration on the Meaning of Child-Teacher Dialogue Journal Writing)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the opportunities of close emotional support and communication provided by child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful to the three subjects of early childhood education, children, teacher, and parents, and provide implications about how to utilize child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities in the field of education properly. According to the findings, first, to children, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as asecret time between them and their teacher, time that their teacher pays keen attention to them, and time to enhance confidence. Second, to teachers, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as aspecial time to be with children, time to understand children, and time to reflect on their educational process and figure out proper teaching or supporting methods. Third, to parents, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful in a way in which they can understand moreabout their children and is a meaningful time to plan and provide proper care upon their children's wishes or needs.

어린이집 교사의 특성과 보육의 질과의 관계 연구 (The Relationship between Caregivers' Characteristic Variables and Quality of Child Care)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between caregivers' characteristic variables and quality of child care and to investigate the magnitude of the association between variables and quality of child care according to children's age. The following factors were suggested as the caregivers' characteristic variables: Total years of caregiving experience, educational level, job satisfaction, amounts of turnover, time for commuting, salary, pay step, years of work in charge of current children, perception on the recommended caregiver/child ratio. The results of the study were as follows : First, it was found that caregivers' salary, total years of caregiving experience, pay step, perception on the recommended caregiver/child ratio, age, and amounts of in-service program were significant among caregivers' variables. Second, when the caregivers' characteristic variables were examined in terms of children's age respectively, the effects of teacher-related variables to influence the child-care quality were significantly different according to children's age group.

관악구 보육시설 이용 유아의 아침결식 여부에 따른 식생활 특성 및 보육시설 아침급식에 대한 어머니의 니즈 (Status of Children's Breakfast Skipping and Their Mothers' Needs for Breakfast Service at Child Care Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of children's breakfast skipping and their mothers' needs for breakfast service at child care centers. A survey was conducted with mothers of children aged 3 to 5 years and attending child care centers in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. Out of 960 questionnaires distributed to the caregivers at 32 child care centers, 633 were returned (66% response rate), and 449 were analyzed (47% analysis rate) after excluding data from the respondents not meeting the selection criteria for this study: mothers of children aged 3 to 5 years. Over 2/3 (69%) of children ate breakfast every weekday (Breakfast Eaters) and almost 1/3 (31%) of children skipped breakfast one time or more often on weekdays (Breakfast Skippers). The collected data were compared between Breakfast Eaters and Breakfast Skippers. The average Good Dietary Practice Score of Breakfast Skippers was significantly lower than that of Breakfast Eaters, implying poorer dietary habits. A higher percentage of mothers of Breakfast Skippers (62%) responded that breakfast service was 'necessary' or 'very necessary' at child care centers than those of Breakfast Eaters (27%). A multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine factors affecting mothers' needs for breakfast service at child care centers. The result showed that the children's ages, mothers' occupational status, household monthly income, frequencies of eating breakfast on weekdays and satisfaction level with morning snack provided at child care centers affected mothers' needs for breakfast service at child care centers. In particular, mothers who had a full-time job (OR = 2.06) than housewives, mothers whose children did not eat breakfast at al (OR = 3.54), ate $1{\sim}2$ times (OR = 5.50) or ate $3{\sim}4$ times (OR = 3.80) on weekdays than those whose children ate breakfast every weekday were more likely to have needs for breakfast service at child care centers than housewives. In conclusion, Breakfast Skippers tended to have poorer dietary habits than Breakfast Eaters and Full-time working mothers had higher needs for breakfast service at child care centers. This study results suggest that child care centers consider serving breakfast to children as the number of working mothers increases.

보육시설 아동의 건강관리향상을 위한 생태학적 모형 개발 (Development of an Ecological Model to Improve Health Care Management for Children in Child Care Centers)

  • 목적 보육시설 내 아동건강관리 현황 및 생태학적 모형의 체계에 따른 아동건강관리 장애요인을 확인하고 보육시설 아동건강관리 향상을 위한 생태학적 모형을 개발하는 데 있다. 방법 포커스 그룹 연구방법을 적용하였으며, 서울특별시 S구 소재 보육시설 중 재원아동 70명 이상의 국공립, 법인 및 민간 어린이집의 원장, 보육교사, 보육아동 부모, 3개 집단 총 22명을 대상으로 3차에 걸친 포커스 그룹 면담을 실시한 후 잠재적 내용분석법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과 보육시설 내 아동건강관리 현황으로는 '발달상태확인', '건강행위훈련' 등 12개 범주가 확인되었다. 생태학적 체계에 따른 보육시설 내 아동건강관리 장애요인으로는 질병관리에 대한 지식부족, 갑작스런 사고에 대한 미숙한 대처, 아동건강관리 전문인력의 부재, 유용한 건강관리 매뉴얼의 부족, 발달 및 건강에 대한 보육시설-부모 간 의견차이, 자녀건강관리에 대한 부모의 과도한 위임, 건강관리와 관련된 보육시설평가인증 항목의 부족 등 총25개 범주가 확인되었다. 결론 본 연구에서 제시된 보육시설 아동건강관리 향상을 위한 생태학적 모형은 보육아동을 위한 건강관리에 직 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 생태학적 체계의 요인을 고려한 프로그램 및 정책 개발 시 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

영아기 돌봄유형이 영아발달수준에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 가정내 돌봄과 어린이집 돌봄의 비교를 중심으로 (The Impact of Child Care Type on Infant's Developmental Outcome: Focusing on the Care Type of at Home Nurturing and Daycare Center)

  • 본 연구는 보육정책이 가진 아동 발달적 기능에 초점을 두고, 돌봄의 유형이 영아의 발달에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 했다. 구체적으로는 돌봄의 유형을 어린이집 돌봄, 가정내 양육으로 구분하고 이를 세분화하여 각 발달영역에 미치는 영향을 비교하고자 하였다. 한국아동패널 1-3차년도 자료를 활용, 발달 영역 별 중다회귀방법으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어린이집의 이용이 영아의 운동기능 및 언어, 사회성의 모든 발달영역에 미치는 영향이 모두 긍정적으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어린이집 이용 시기에 따라서 각 발달 영역의 수준이 차이를 보였으며, 마지막으로 어린이집 인증여부는 영아의 사회성 발달 측면에서만 그 차이가 나타났다. 종합해 볼 때, 어린이집 이용이 영아의 발달 수준에 긍정적이라고 하더라도 어린이 평가인증 강화와 같은 서비스 질 제고 방안 역시 여전히 필요해 보인다.

코로나19 확산에 따른 가족생활 및 가족관계의 변화와 스트레스 (Changes in Family Life and Relationships during the COVID-19 Pandemic and their Associations with Perceived Stress)

  • This study explores how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed family life and relationships as well as how these changes affect perceived stress among married men and women. This study investigated changes in family time use, household work, child care, leisure activities, income and expenditures along with relationships between spouses and children using a sample of 627 married persons surveyed online from May 19 to 25, 2020. The results showed that the amount of time spent on household work, child care, and family leisure have increased and that the perceived burden of household work and child care has also increased. Gender differences were found in time use, household work, and child care. Leisure activities have changed toward more time watching TV or online media and playing online games and less time on outdoor activities, shopping, and meeting friends. About 38% of respondents reported a reduction in household income and 22% reported an increase in household debt. The majority experienced no change in the quality of relationships with spouses and children, approximately 20% of the sample reported a positive change in relationships with spouses and children. The findings of multivariate regression indicated that change in work time, negative change in household economy, negative change in household work and negative change in relationships with spouses were associated with marital stress. However, this study found that negative changes in child care and in relationships with children did not affect stress among married parents with children in elementary or secondary school.

보육교사와 시설장의 이직경험에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on the Turnover Experiences of Teachers and Directors of Child Care Centers)

  • This study is a qualitative research on job transfer experiences of child care teachers and directors of child care centers. The research was conducted on 21 participants: 10 child teachers and 11 directors of child care centers in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. Focus group interviews were held at the subjects' child care centers in July 2011. Each focus group participated in one interview and the average length of these interviews was 2 hours. Four focus group interviews were recorded and transcribed. The gathered data was analyzed within and across groups according to focus group interview analysis methods. The analysis showed five categories in both the teacher group and the director group. Reorganizing this analysis revealed three phases: before, in the course of, and after the transfer. Further description about the job transfer was given for each phase of the two groups. This research is significantly meaningful in that it brings light to the experiences around job transfer for both groups at the same time.

어린이집 유아반의 일과 유형분류 및 일과 유형별 교사행동에 관한 연구 (Classification of Daily Routine Types in Child Care Center and Teacher Behaviors Based on Daily Routine Types)

  • This study evaluated the types of daily routines that occurred in child care centers based on four general categorizations: time spent on indoor free choice activities, outdoor activities, group activities and special activities. In addition, resulting child care teacher behaviors were examined based on daily routine types. A total 23 classes' activity times and teacher behaviors were observed. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, hierarchical cluster, and Mann-Whitney U. Results indicated that there were 2 principle daily routine, 'indoor/outdoor activity time oriented' and 'group activity time oriented'. Analysis showed that teachers who belonged to the 'indoor/outdoor activity time oriented' type showed more positive affect, positive guidance, neural guidance, and less non-involved behavior. Results suggest the importance of time spent on free choice activities in the context of daily routine for quality childcare.
