Chemically modified electrodes(CMEs), based on 2-imino-1-cyclopentane-dithiocarboxylic acid (icdc) containing carbon paste, have been characterized using cyclic voltammetric techniques. Ag(I) was chemically deposited on the CMEs, and voltammograms were obtained with the electrode in a separate buffer solution. The CME surface can be regenerated with exposure to acid and reused for deposition. In 10 deposition/measurement/regenerate cycles, the linear response have been reproduced up to $1{\times}10^{-6}$ M in linear sweep voltammetry and 1${\times}$10-8 M in differential pulse voltammetry with relative standard deviation of 5.2% and 12.4%, respectiveiy. The sensitivity increased with deposition time and scanning rate, and detection limit was $1{\times}10^{-7}M\;and\;1{\times}10^{-9}M$ at 20 minutes deposition in the linear sweep voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry, respectively. The presence of some metal ions does not influence the silver ion response. Satisfactory results were obtained for the analysis of the silver ion for a variety of reference materials without interference of Hg ion at the condition of pH = 5-6.

PbS, CuS and (Pb,Cu)S thin films were chemically deposited on glass from alkaline baths containing lead acetate, copper chloride, thiourea and triethanolamine. The deposition, optical, resistivity and thermal electric properties of these films were studied. PbS thin films showed a hexagonal structure and CuS thin films showed amorphous. The crystalline of (Pb,Cu)S thin films was obtained by heat treatment at 200$\^{C}$ and the deposition ratio of Pb to Cu showed 7:3. The energy gap of PbS, CuS and (Pb,Cu)S thin films were 1.7, 2.1 and 2.4 eV, respectively. Sheet resistance of PbS thin films was less affected on thermal annealing, but hose of (Pb,Cu)S and CuS thin films were more reduced about 3 orders of magnitude. All of those thin films indicated p type semiconductor in temperature ranging 30$\^{C}$ to 150$\^{C}$.

Blanket Copper films were chemically vapor deposited on six kinds for substrates for scrutinizing the change of characteristics induced by the difference of substrates and seeding layers. Both TiN/Si and {{{{ { SiO}_{2 } }}/Si wafers were used as-recevied and with the Cu-seeding layers of 40${\AA}$ and 160${\AA}$ which were produced by sputtering The CVD processes were exectued at the deposition temperatures between 130$^{\circ}C$ and 260$^{\circ}C$ us-ing (hfc)Cu(VTMS) as a precursor. The deposition rate of 40$^{\circ}C$ Cu-seeded substrates was higher than that of other substrates and especially in seeded {{{{ { SiO}_{2 } }}/Si substrate because of the incubation period reducing in-duced by seeding layer at the same deposition time and temperature. The resistivity of 160${\AA}$ Cu seeded substrate was lower then that of 40 ${\AA}$ because the nucleation and growth behavior in Cu-island is different from the behavior in {{{{ { SiO}_{2 } }} substrate due to the dielectricity of {{{{ { SiO}_{2 } }}.

The Cu(In,Ga)Se2(CIGS) thin film solar cells have been achieved until almost 20% efficiency by NREL. These solar cells include chemically deposited CdS as buffer layer between CIGS absorber layer and ZnO window layer. Although CIGS solar cells with CdS buffer layer show excellent performance, many groups made hard efforts to overcome its disadvantages in terms of high absorption of short wavelength, Cd hazardous element. Among Cd-free candidate materials, the CIGS thin film solar cells with Zn compound buffer layer seem to be promising with 15.2%(module by showa shell K.K.), 18.6%(small area by NREL). However, few groups were successful to report high-efficiency CIGS solar cells with Zn compound buffer layer, compared to be known how to fabricate these solar cells. Each group's chemical bah deposition (CBD) condition is seriously different. It may mean that it is not fully understood to grow high quality Zn compound thin film on the CIGS using CBD. In this study, we focused to clarify growth mechanism of chemically deposited Zn compound thin film on the CIGS, especially. Additionally, we tried to characterize junction properties with unfavorable issues, that is, slow growth rate, imperfect film coverage and minimize these issues. Early works reported that film deposition rate increased with reagent concentration and film covered whole rough CIGS surface. But they did not mention well how film growth of zinc compound evolves homogeneously or heterogeneously and what kinds of defects exist within film that can cause low solar performance. We observed sufficient correlation between growth quality and concentration of NH3 as complex agent. When NH3 concentration increased, thickness of zinc compound increased with dominant heterogeneous growth for high quality film. But the large amounts of NH3 in the solution made many particles of zinc hydroxide due to hydroxide ions. The zinc hydroxides bonded weakly to the CIGS surface have been removed at rinsing after CBD.

The graphene, a single atomic sheet of graphite, has attracted tremendous interest owing to its novel properties including high intrinsic mobility, optical transparency and flexibility. However, for more diverse application of graphene devices, it is essential to tune its transport behavior by shifting Dirac Point (DP) of graphene. So, in the following context, we suggest a method to tune structural and electronic properties of graphene using atomic layer deposition. By atomic layer deposition of zinc oxide (ZnO) on graphene using 4-mercaptophenol as linker, we can fabricate n-doped graphene. Through ${\pi}-{\pi}$ stacking between chemically inert graphene and 4-mercaptophenol, conformal deposition of ZnO on graphene was enabled. The electron mobility of graphene TFT increased more than 3 times without considerably decreasing the hole mobility, compared to the pristine graphene. Also, it has high air stability. This ZnO doping method by atomic layer deposition can be applicable to large scale array of CVD graphene TFT.
Silicon nitride films were chemically deposited on silicon substrates by reacting SiCl$_{4}$ and NH$_{3}$ in a nitrogen atmosphere at 700~1100 .deg.C. The deposition rate increased rapidly with deposition temperature upto about 1000 .deg.C, and became less temperature dependent above this temperature. The etch rate of films in buffered HF solution decreased, with an increase of deposition temperature, and a heat treatment at a temperature higher than that of the deposition considerably reduced the etch rate. It indicates that the heat treatment resulted in a densification of the films. Surface charge density of 3~4 * 10$^{11}$ /cm$^{2}$ was determined from the C-V characteristics of MNS diode, and it was also found that surface charge density depended on deposition temperature, but not film thickness. The current-voltage characteristics displayed a logI-V$^{1}$2/ dependence in the temperature range of 300~500.deg.K. Measurement of the slope of this characteristics and its dependence on temperature and bias polarity suggest that conduction in sili con nitride films arises from the Poole-Frenkel mechanism.
Transparent and conduction tin oxide films have been deposited on glass substrates employing the low pressure chemical vapor deposition technique. Tetramethyltin, 1, 1, 1, 2-tetrafluoroethane, and pure oxygen or ozone-containing oxygen were used as the precursor, dopant and oxidant, respectively. In order to examine the role of ozone in the low pressure chemical vapor deposition of tin oxide films, deposition rate, and electrical and optical properties of tin oxide films deposited using ozone-containing oxygen were compared with those using pure oxygen. Tetramethyltin and 1, 1, 1, 2-tetrafluoroethane were chemically activated by thermally initiated decomposition of ozone. Using ozone-containing oxygen under otherwise identical deposition conditions, we succeeded in preparing tin oxide films f better quality at higher deposition rate.
Silicon carbide (SiC) films have been deposited on the isotropic graphite by chemical vapor deposition. Change of deposition parameters affected significantly the microstructure and preferred orientation of SiC films. Preferred orientation of SiC films was (111) or (220), and microstructure showed the startified structure consisting of small crystallite or faceted columnar structure depending on the deposition parameters. For microhardness, (111) oriented film and stratified structure were superior to (220) oriented film and faceted columnar structure, respectively. Surface of (111) oriented films was less rough than that of (220) oriented films. Adhesion force between graphite substrate and SiC films was above 100N for crystalline films and 49N for amorphous film.

YBCO superconducting thick films were prepared on Ag wire by electrophoresis in acetone and ethanol with chemically modified suspension. The addition of organic compounds, such as PEG, EG into suspension solution for improving critical current density was investigated. Surface state, deposition condition, pore distribution and cracks were investigated by using SEM photographs. Controlling preparation conditions were studied for reducing these defects. As a results, in acetone solution, the surface crack of samples was decreased with increasing PEG. On the contrary, the surface crack of sample was increasing with increasing the amount of EG. In ethanol solution without I$_2$, which was generally used for an electrolyte, the deposition time was longer than this of acetone. For that reason the sample deposition in ethanol time was needed with enough stirring time for suspending YBCO powder and deposition time.

ZnS was chemically deposited as a buffer layer alternative to CdS, for use as a Cd-free buffer layer in $Cu(In_{1-x}Ga_x)Se_2$ (CIGS) solar cells. The deposition of a thin film of ZnS was carried out by chemical bath deposition, following which the structural and optical properties of the ZnS layer were studied. For the experiments, zinc sulfate hepta-hydrate ($ZnSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$), thiourea ($SC(NH_2)_2$), and ammonia ($NH_4OH$) were used as the reacting agents. The mole concentrations of $ZnSO_4$ and $SC(NH_2)_2$ were fixed at 0.03 M and 0.8 M, respectively, while that of ammonia, which acts as a complexing agent, was varied from 0.3 M to 3.5 M. By varying the mole concentration of ammonia, optimal values for parameters like optical transmission, deposition rate, and surface morphology were determined. For the fixed mole concentrations of $0.03M\;ZnSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ and $0.8M\;SC(NH_2)_2$, it was established that 3.0 M of ammonia could provide optimal values of the deposition rate (5.5 nm/min), average optical transmittance (81%), and energy band gap (3.81 eV), rendering the chemically deposited ZnS suitable for use as a Cd-free buffer layer in CIGS solar cells.
