A Study on the Effects of One's Blood Type on Determining Awarness and Emotional Character - for the Elementary Students - (혈액형과 주의력 및 행동 성향간의 관계 연구- 초등학생 대상으로 -)

  • This study is focused on the effects of one's blood type on determining awarness and emotional character of Elementary students, by comparing each individual's brain wave. Observed records are from those students who volunteered for KRIJUS(Korea Research Institute of Jungshin Science)'s brain wave measurement from September 2005 to December 2007. The whole 4010 elementary student group consists of 1562 female and 2448 male. Blood types are as follows; 873male(36%) 563female(37%) for type A, 641male(26%) 424female(27%) for type B, 622male(25%) 406female(26%) for type 0, and 312male(13%) 159female(10%) for type AB, A>B>O>AB dominately ordered. The research had shown no obvious relation between the blood types and their awarness or emotional status of elementary students. Thus, it would not be such a wise decision to tell one's character depending on his/her blood type. This result suggested that follow-up researches should be figuring out more detailed explanations for gifted education.

An Analysis on Awareness of the Importance of Character Education, Character Development Level and Needs for Character Education in Dental Hygiene (일부 치위생과 학생들의 인성교육에 대한 중요도 인식 및 인성발달 수준, 인성교육의 요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on the importance of character education, their level of character development and needs for that education in an effort to provide information on how to ensure the efficiency of character education. The subjects in this study were 180 selected dental hygiene students who took a course in "college life and character." After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed by a SPSS 23.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, as for awareness of the importance of character education, they placed the most importance on the virtue of filial piety and attached the least importance to the virtue of courage. Second, regarding awareness of the importance of character education by general characteristics, what type of high school they graduated from and whether they were religious or not made no differences to that, and there were differences according to academic year. Third, as to the current level of character development, they were most excellent in etiquette and caring. Fourth, the characteristics of the subjects made no differences to their current level of character development. Fifth, in regard to correlation between awareness of the importance of character education and the current level of character development, there was a positive correlation between it and every item except faithfulness. Sixth, as a result of analyzing their needs for character education, they gave top priority to moderation, followed by filial piety, faithfulness, responsibility, courage, wisdom, law abiding, justice, etiquette, respect, cooperation and caring. The results of this study should be used as basic data for character education.

  • This paper proposes a new set of topological features (primitives) for use with a syntactic recognizer for high-accuracy recognition of printed alphanumeric characters. The recognition is accomplished on nine character groups, where each group has different combinations of four feature points. A skeleton enhancement eliminating isolated points and smoothing irregular points is developed. The tree automata processed in parallel enables the realization of high-recognition speeds and font-type independent recognition. The proposed character recognition system is tested for alphanumeric character fonts of dot matrix printer and plotter using IBM-PC/XT.

  • Mobility in housing is a normative way to satisfy family needs for· better· living conditions. In the context of relative decisions. mobility can be understood as forced relocation or unforced relocation In making relocation. the household chooses a particular 'environmental quality profile. Therefore. the understanding of mobility and relocation in housing is needed for· the developing and planning of housing evnironment. The major findings are s follows ;1. The motives of mobility are composed of 4 factors('material porseperity’, 'convenience· safety'. environmental improvement' and 'forced relocation'). Especially, 'material prosperity' was defined the most fundamental factor· for. 2. The components of housing environment quality were composed of 3 factors related to the scale of home environment. They were 'neighborhood character factor', 'dwelling character· factor·'. And 'location character· factor'. The factor 'neighborhood character' was defined the basic factor· to choose for the housing environmental quality profile.3. It was examined that the motives of mobility and the components of home environmental quality were significantly different by the household characteristics (income. family life cycle. and tenure type).

  • In this paper, we would study the applicability of neural networks to the recognition process of Korean stenographic character image, applying the classification function, which is the greatest merit of those of neural networks applied to the various pans so far, to the stenographic character recognition, relatively simple classification work. Korean stenographic recognition algorithms, which recognize the characters by using some methods, have a quantitative problem that despite the simplicity of the structure, a lot of basic characters are impossible to classify into a type. They also have qualitative one that it is not easy to classify characters for the delicacy of the character forms. Even though this is the result of experiment under the limited environment of the basic characters, this shows the possibility that the stenographic characters can be recognized effectively by neural network system. In this system, we got 90.86% recognition rate as an average.

Detection of Character Emotional Type Based on Classification of Emotional Words at Story (스토리기반 저작물에서 감정어 분류에 기반한 등장인물의 감정 성향 판단)

  • In this paper, I propose and evaluate the method that classifies emotional type of characters with their emotional words. Emotional types are classified as three types such as positive, negative and neutral. They are selected by classification of emotional words that characters speak. I propose the method to extract emotional words based on WordNet, and to represent as emotional vector. WordNet is thesaurus of network structure connected by hypernym, hyponym, synonym, antonym, and so on. Emotion word is extracted by calculating its emotional distance to each emotional category. The number of emotional category is 30. Therefore, emotional vector has 30 levels. When all emotional vectors of some character are accumulated, her/his emotion of a movie can be represented as a emotional vector. Also, thirty emotional categories can be classified as three elements of positive, negative, and neutral. As a result, emotion of some character can be represented by values of three elements. The proposed method was evaluated for 12 characters of four movies. Result of evaluation showed the accuracy of 75%.

  • Customizing system is acting a main role for the character production system of MMORPG. However, since using the high degree of freedom in MMORPG, these characters are too individual and lack of awareness. We can describe each character's emotional characteristics and understand the correlation of characters more easily by adjusting design factors capable of cognitive decision to characters. Game character developer should consider seeking efficient character design process that is suitable to MMORPG game environment and users for proper character recognition and promoting character preferences. In addition, this research being extended on the article vol.13, no.3, "A Study on Cognitive and Preference of Games' Character" on Korean Society of Basic Design in June 2012 issue and this study is expected to have effectives as one method for the purpose of this research is to inquire and present what type of relation lies between recognition and preference of game characters of MMORPG.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the correlation between toluene in air and hippuric acid in human urine, which is based in the results of the health check-in and measure of working environment, was investigated for five years. Toluene in air and hippuric acid in urine were checked 116 workers who exposed to toluene in five type of industry. The Mean concentration of toluene in air by type of industry and every year and sex distinction, had positive correlation.(p<0.01) The Mean concentration of hippuric acid in urine by type of industry, every year, sex distinction, disparity of age and term of duty had positive correlation.(p<0.01).

An Analysis of the Types of Panoplies in the TV Dramas Yeongaesomun and Taewangsasin-gi - Focusing on the Panoplies of the Goguryeo Dynasty - (TV 사극 연개소문과 태왕사신기에 표현된 갑주유형 분석 - 고구려시대 갑주를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to know how helmet and armor was reinterpreted in historical play by considering general concept and type of old helmet and armor from the aspect of costume history and comparing the helmet and armor types of TV historical plays, Yeongaesomun and Taewangsasingi, whose historical backgrounds were based on the age of Goguryeo. The helmet and armor type shown in Yeongaesomun was reinterpreted as the one, which is close to historical investigation, by reappearing lamellar armor and jongjangpanju(helmet made of slim, long plate) shown in Goguryeo wall painting. The helmet and armor type shown in Taewangsasingi expresses fantastic helmet and armor by adding fantastic factor regardless of historical investigation. The study result reveals that there are several common characteristic factors between the helmet and armors of two historical plays. First, there was a classification in the display of character and story. The helmet and armor type shown in Yeongaesomun classified color and detail design depending on lamellar armor or character. In Taewangsasingi, the helmet and armor was manufactured depending on character's nature and the chain armors, which are lighter than existing helmet and armors, were usual. Second, they escaped from the historical investigation about traditional helmet and armor. In Yeongaesomun, myeonggwangae(a type of armor), which might be popular, was not expressed and Taewangsasingi is free from an imperative idea of historical investigation by manufacturing helmet and armor referring to that of ancient Rome age. The modern sense was reflected to increase dramatic effect. The helmet and armor of Yeongaesomun provides modern feeling by using stainless steel material and modern color arrangement and that of Taewangsasingi is designed in modern, splendid way as it aimed at game development from the planning step.

Portable thermocouple thermometer on the nonlinearity compensation (비선형 특성을 보정한 휴대용 열전대 온도계)

  • A portable type K thermocouple thermometer is designed and fabricated to compensate the linearity to the high temperature $1000^{\circ}C$. The problems to be solved, which use a thermocouple thermometer are the compensation of the nonlinearity characters and reference compensation. The nonlinear character of the thermocouple is compensated, using an EPROM, and the reference compensation done using an IC AD595A. Before this compensation, there was the maximum error of $23.6^{\circ}C$(2.69%) at $876^{\circ}C$. However the results measured by the portable type K thermocouple thermometer fabricated show the character of the error of ${\pm}2^{\circ}C$(0.2%) in the range of the total temperature. This character satisfies the precision specifications of the type K thermal sensors in the range available $1000^{\circ}C$, which can be measured by the use of type K thermocouples. Therefore the portable type K thermocouple thermometer fabricated can be comparatively exactly used for the wide range of temperature of interest. Then this technique of compensating the nonlinear characters can be applied to the other kinds of thermal sensor compensation.
