Analysis and synthesis of Korean Vowels by LP Method (LP 방법에 의한 한국모음의 분석과 합성)

  • The human speech contains many redundancies. To economize communication channel or memory size for a computerized synthesis of human voices, it is necessary to compress the data before sending. We have treated human speech organ as an eighth order dynamic system which is time varying as the person speaks. Using an anaylyzer of our design, each eight parameters are obtained for the vowels [아], [어], [오], [우], [으], [이], [애], and (외) of korean language with considerable discrepancies between persons. Supplying those parameters to a synthesizer which we have made, we have sucoeeded in the simulation of human speech for the above mentioned vowels of Korean language and observed that they bear all the features of the original speakers.

  • In this paper, we deals with scheduling problem for data-path synthesis in high-level synthesis. We proposed a new method to optimize interconnection cost for operator allocation. Especially, we focus to optimize for buses to transfer data channel and register to restore operation result. Also we take account ILP formulation in order to get optimal scheduling result. To verify the effectiveness of this study, we select 5th Digital Wave Filter. The experimental result show that purposed method was better then the general methods.

  • (S) and (R) 12-HETE. endogenous eicosanoids. have recently been discovered to be implicated in a number of important biological activities. In particular. it has recently been reported by us that both the capsaicin-activated channel of sensory neurons and the cloned capsaicin receptor (VR1) are activated by the eicosanoids including these metabolites. We report herein a novel and efficient asymmetric synthesis of highly enantiomerically enriched 12(S)-HETE via enzymatic kinetic resolution of the key allylic alcohol synthon. (omitted)

  • This paper considers the design of mixed $H_2/\;H_{\infty}$ controllers for linear time-invariant descriptor systems. Firstly, an $H_{\infty}$ and $H_2$ synthesis problem for a descriptor system are presented separately in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) based on the bounded real lemma. Then, the existence of a mixed $H_2/\;H_{\infty}$ controller by which the $H_2$ norm of the second channel is minimized while keeping the $H_{\infty}$ norm bound of the first channel less than ${\gamma}$, is reduced to the linear objective minimization problem. The class of desired controllers that are assumed to have the same structure as the plant is parameterized by using the linearizing change of variables. In addition, we show the procedure by which a obtained descriptor controller can be transformed to a non-descriptor one.

  • The modulo PLL was applied to the implementation of frequency synthesis with the narrow channel spacing, many channels and three different frequency bands.   • Oligothiophene derivatives have been well-known as an p-type channel material.$^1$ Here, we report novel oligothiophene derivative containing methylene linkage as an p-type channel material. Oligothiophene derivative containing methylene linkage BHTM was synthesized and characterized. BHTM was prepared by a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction via zinc-substituted thiophene. BHTM exhibited high thermal stability and at least one transition temperature.

Contextual Modeling and Generation of Texture Observed in Single and Multi-channel Images

  • Texture is extensively studied in a variety of image processing applications such as image segmentation and classification because it is an important property to perceive regions and surfaces. This paper focused on the analysis and synthesis of textured single and multiband images using Markov Random Field model considering the existent spatial correlation. Especially, for multiband images, the cross-channel correlation existing between bands as well as the spatial correlation within band should be considered in the model. Although a local interaction is assumed between the specified neighboring pixels in MRF models, during the maximization process, short-term correlations among neighboring pixels develop into long-term correlations. This result in exhibiting phase transition. In this research, the role of temperature to obtain the most probable state during the sampling procedure in discrete Markov Random Fields and the stopping rule were also studied.

  • Large-conductance $Ca^{2+}$ activated potassium channels $(BK_{ca})$ are widely distributed and play key roles in various cell functions. In nerve cells, B $K_{ca}$ channels shorten the duration of action potentials and block $Ca^{2+}$ entry thereby repolarizing excitable cells after excitation. $(BK_{ca})$ channel opening has been postulated to confer neuroprotection during stroke and has attracted attention as a means for therapeutic intervention in asthma, hypertension, convulsion, and traumatic brain injury.   • 5-$HT_{3}$ receptor;5-$HT_{3A}$ receptor channel activity;Novel 5-$HT_{3}$ receptor channel current blockers;Chlorophenyl substituted piperazinylethylaminomethylpyrazoles; The 5-$HT_{3A}$ receptors are one of ligand-gated ion channels and are known to be involved in visceral pain, anxiety, or anticancer agent-induced nausea and vomiting. In present study, we designed novel skeletons based on the developed 5-$HT_{3}$ receptor antagonists and evaluated their effects on 5-$HT_{3A}$ receptor channel currents ($I_{5-HT}$) of a series of pyrazole derivatives having N-chlorophenylpiperazine functionality (6-9). We found that most of N-p-chlorophenyl substituted piperazinyl-pyrazole derivatives (7b, 7c, 7e and 7h) exhibited the high potency for the inhibition of $I_{5-HT}$, whereas the compound without chloride (6) or with m-chlorophenyl group (a serious of 8 and 9) showed the low potency. These result indicate that p-chlorophenyl group is might play an important role for increasing the inhibitory potency on $I_{5-HT}$.
