  • On this paper, piezoelectric transducer was studied through direct piezoelectric effect. Circular unimorph type piezoelectric transducer is fabricated by attaching circular type PZT ceramic to circular plate of brass. The fabricated transducer was simulated and analyzed by using FEM program, ANSYS. Output characteristics were measured by applying diverse frequencies, including resonance frequency, of vibrator to transducer, and then the results were compared with ANSYS results. In addition, each characteristic was measured at two constraint conditions to obtain higher efficiency.

  • This work is the study of Voltage-Down Converter used as internal supply voltage having large current driving and stable voltage level at any variation of process, voltage, and temperature(P.V.T). It converts VDD(external supply voltage) into $V_{1NT}(internal\;supply\;voltage).$ From the simulation results, a new Voltage-Down Converter has large current driving and a little stand-by current under lower supply voltage than conventional circuit. And bad characteristic of VINT, peaking, was eliminated. Start-up circuit for BGR is also added to one circuit, which consumes less current dissipation than convention circuit

  • A Half-VDD Voltage(VHDD) Generator using PMOS pull-up transistor and NMOS pull-down transistor was newly proposed for low-voltage DRAMs. The driving current was increased and the power-on settling time was reduced in the new circuit. The newly proposed VHDD generator worked successfully at VDD at 1.5V and fabricated using 0.18um CMOS twin-well technology.

  • Optically active N-benzyl-2-methyl-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-3(4H)-ones and N-benzyl-2-methyl-2H-benzo[b][1,4]thiazin-3(4H)-ones with potential synthetic and pharmacological interest were prepared via Smiles rearrangement in conventional as well as microwave irradiation conditions in one-pot from inexpensive (S)-2-chloropropionic acid. Most of the compounds displayed good inhibition against Gram positive bacteria and fungi in the antibiotic test.

  • Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is a pleiotropic hematopoietic growth factor and an activator of lmature myeloid cells and recombinant GM-CSF is increasingly under clinical studies for the treatment of various diseases including cancer, infectious diseases and hematopoietic diseases. We constructed a reconbinant mouse GM-CSF expression plasmid with pelB leader sequence and His. Tag under T7 promoter control, and showed that the construct produced a 20 kDa recombinant protein in 8M urea. We also showed that the 20 kDa recombinant protein prepared in 8M urea sitmulated colony formation in vitro, indicating that the recombinant mGM-CSF can be renatured to its native form to show the colony stimulating activity.

  • We investigated the effects of gestational and lactational exposures to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) on the differential induction of CYP1A1 in the levels of protein and gene expression in the liver and brain regions of offspring rats. For this study, pregnant Sprague Dawley rats were orally exposed to TCDD (1 or 10 ng/kg body weight/day) starting at Day 1 of gestation up to Day 20 of postpartum. (omitted)

  • Myasthenia gravis (MG) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) are distinct disorders. ALS affects motor neurons that control muscle movement, while MG controls communication between neurons and muscles, which occurs at neuromuscular junctions. However, on rare occasions, ALS develops after MG and vice versa. The coexistence of the two diseases represents a diagnostic challenge and requires thoughtful interpretation of clinical features. We present the case of a 53-year-old Korean male who developed ALS after MG, confirmed by clinical and electrophysiological follow-up.

  • Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have emerged as one of the most promising therapeutic options for advanced cancers. While ICIs have improved survival in multiple cancers, their increased use is restricted by various immune-related adverse events. In this report we describe a patient with renal cell carcinoma who received a combination of ICIs, nivolumab plus ipilimumab, and who developed lumbosacral polyradiculoneuropathy. Corticosteroid use was an effective treatment for this patient.
