박용 터보차져의 원심압축기의 디퓨져 형상변경에 따른 성능비교 및 유동특성 평가 연구 (The Evaluation of Performance and Flow Characteristics on the Diffuser Geometries Variations of the Centrifugal Compressor in a Marine Engine Turbocharger)

  • An examination of the condition of the flow leaving the impeller exit kinetic energy often accounts for 30-50% of the shaft work input to the compressor stage, and for energy efficiency it is important to recover as much of this as possible. This is the function of the diffuser which follows the impeller. The purpose of this study is to investigate the sensitivity of how compressor performances changes as vaned diffuser geometry is varied. Three kinds of vaned diffusers were studied and its results were compared. First vaned diffuser type is based on NACA airfoil and second is channel diffuser and third is conformal transformation of NACA65(4A10)06 airfoil. Mean-line prediction method was applied to investigate the performance and stability for three kinds of diffusers. And CFD analyses have been done for comparison and detailed interior flow pattern study. NACA65(4A10)06 airfoil showed the widest operating range and higher pressure characteristics than the others.

미소 수중 생물체 이송용 단판 디스크 펌프의 성능 실험 (Experiments on Single-Disk Pumps for the Transportation of Micro-scale Water Life)

  • A boundary-layer pump with a single disk has been experimented to obtain its characteristic curve by changing the impeller of a centrifugal pump to a single disk. The primary objective to use of these types of pumps is to avoid hurting water life during transportation unnecessarily. The change of impeller should degrade the performance of pump, so we used the method to increase the roughness on the disk with sandpaper and mesh. The enhancement of shear force from the rotation of disk to the internal flow brought an augmentation of momentum transport, and the characteristics were far improved from the original single-disk pump without decreasing the survival rate of water life in the case of Pseudobagrus fulvidraco (bullhead fish). However, in the case of Artemia cyst (zooplankton), the survival rate was very degraded due to the micro scale smaller than turbulent eddy size. The result of this study could be used for the design of transportation and bio-filtering of water lying on a specific bandwidth of its scale of size.

폐수 이송용 원심펌프의 성능해석에서 표면 거칠기의 영향 (Effect of Surface Roughness on Performance Analysis of Centrifugal Pump for Wastewater Transport)

  • 본 연구는 폐수처리용 원심 펌프 설계과정에서 수행하는 3차원 유동해석에 있어서 표면 거칠기를 고려한 해석 결과와 고려하지 않은 해석 결과가 성능 예측에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 수행하였다. 이를 위해 비교적 기하학적 형상이 복잡한 폐수처리용 원심펌프의 표면 거칠기 변화가 유동 해석 결과에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 그리고 실제 해석 대상 펌프를 사용한 실험 결과 값과 해석 결과 값을 서로 비교 해봄으로써 표면 거칠기를 고려한 펌프의 해석 값과 고려하지 않은 해석 결과 값 차이에 대한 정량적인 분석을 제시하였다. 그 결과, 해석 시 표면 거칠기를 고려한 해석결과는 실험결과와 잘 일치하는 함을 보였으며, 표면 거칠기는 펌프의 성능해석에 약 7% 범위에서 영향을 준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 최근, LNG는 저렴한 가격과 친환경적 연료 등의 이유로 선박용 대체연료로 각광을 받고 있으며, 그 수요량도 급성장이 예상된다. 그러나, 선박의 LNG 연료공급을 위한 극저온펌프(Cryogenic Pump) 제작과 관련한 국내 기술력은 매우 미흡한 실정으로 핵심 부품의 설계와 제작 기술이 절실한 시점이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 선박용 LNG 공급 시스템용 극저온 잠액식 원심펌프(Cryogenic Submerged Centrifugal Pump)의 단계별 개발절차에 대하여 기술하였다. 그리하여, 각 단계별 특성 및 주요 개발항목을 공학적이고 관리적인 측면에서 접근함으로써 실질적이고 구체적인 개발방법을 제시하는데 연구 목적을 두었다.

Improving Flow Distribution in a Suction Channel for a Highly Efficient Centrifugal Compressor

  • Design parameters for suction channels of process centrifugal compressors were investigated, and an optimization method to enhance stage efficiency by using the new design parameters was proposed. From results of computational fluid dynamics, the passage sectional area ratios $A_c/A_e$, $A_e/A_s$ and $A_c/A_s$ were found to be the dominant parameters for the pressure loss and circumferential flow distortion, where $A_c$, $A_e$ and $A_s$ are passage sectional areas for the casing upstream side, casing entrance and impeller eye, respectively. The Base suction channel was optimized using the new design parameters, and the Base and Optimized types were tested. Test results showed that the Optimized suction channel achieved 3.8% higher stage efficiency than the Base suction channel while maintaining the same operating range.

  • Recently, with theraped advancement in th oceanology such an ocean-going vessel and oceanic structures, there is a need to study the cavitation erosion-corrosion control of pump impeller, the partial element of ocean machinery, for more effective operation. Especially, the cathodic protection (impressed current method & Al-sacrificial anode method) was applied to sea water, and Cu-alloy material mixed Zn & Al was used as a control method of cavitation erosion-corrosion. In this study, used the piezoelectric vibrator with 20KHz, 24.mu.m to cavity generation apparatus, and investigated the weight loss, weight loss rate, electrode potential & current density etc. under this condition. According to test result, thos describes how to indentify an influence of the cathodic protection and Al & Zn addition in material development for the control of cavitation erosion-corrosion, and those will serve as fundamental data on the cavitation erosion-corrosion control of oceanic centrifugal pump.

  • Recently, with the rapid development in the oceanic systems such as the oceanic structures and vessel, there occurs much interest in the impingement erosion-corrosion. In this paper, Cu-metal was tested by using of erosion apparatus with water-jet type and was investigated under the behaviour of impingement erosion-corrosion according to various environmental conditions, and the properties of Cu-metal were evaluated through the measurement by weight loss, weight loss rate, protective efficiency. The results were compared with those obtained using Cu-metal applied to cathodic protection and Cu-alloys added to Zn or Al-metal. As a basis of those results, the best protective efficiencies could be taken as using cathodic protection method and Cu-alloy with Al & Zn material addings, and will be suggested as the fundamental data of the anti-impingement erosion-corrosion on Cu-metal of impeller material for oceanic centrifugal pump.

LNG 플랜트용 프로판 냉매 원심압축기의 공력설계 및 전산해석적 연구 (Aerodynamic Design and Numerical Study of a Propane-Refrigerant Centrifugal Compressor for LNG Plant)

  • 본 연구에서는 4단으로 구성된 LNG 플랜트용 프로판 냉매 원심 압축기 각 단의 설계점에 대해 상용 코드를 이용하여 공력설계를 하였다. 1차원 공력 설계 결과와 3차원 유로 형상의 타당성은 유동해석을 통해 확인하였다. 특히 입구전압이 높고 회전수가 큰 4단 압축기 임펠러의 유로와 베인리스 디퓨저 내부 유동에 대한 속도장, 압력장 및 엔트로피 등의 유동특성에 대해 고찰하였고, 아울러 익단 간극이 유동장에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 알아보았다. 본 연구 결과는 프로판 냉매 압축기의 시스템 제작에 활용될 것이며 추후 실제 실험결과와 비교하고자 한다. 향후 설계된 프로판 냉매압축기에 대한 LNG 플랜트에서의 실증시험을 통해 구체적인 설계결과에 대한 평가 및 설계 개선이 이루어지리라 생각한다.

교반 볼밀을 이용한 왕겨재의 건식 미세분쇄에 관한 연구 (Dry Fine Grinding of Rice Husk Ash using a Stirred Ball Mill)

  • This work was conducted to study the operating characteristics of a grinding system designed to obtain fine rice husk ash powder. To find better utilizing of rice husk, a valuable by-product from rice production, once the rice husk was incinerated and the thermal energy was recovered from the furnace, the ash was fed and pulverized in the grinding system resulting a fine powder to be used as a supplementary adding material to the portland cement manufacturing . The rice husk ash grinding system consisted of a high speed centrifugal fan for the preliminary coarse milling and a dry-type stirred ball mill for the subsequent fine grinding . Total grinding time 9 5, 15, 30, 45 min), impeller speed (250, 500, 750 rpm) , and mixed ratio (4.8, 7.9, 14.9) were three operating factors examined for the performance of a stirred ball mill used for the fine grinding of ash. With the stirred ball mill used in this study, the minimum attianable mean diameter of rice husk ash powder appeared to be 2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. During the find grinding, the difference in specific surface area of powder showed an increase and the grinding energy efficiency decreased with the increase in total grinding time, impeller speed ,and mixed ratio. For the operating conditions employed , the resulting mean diameter of fine ash powder, specific energy input, and grinding energy efficiency were in the range of 1.79 --16.04${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 0.072-5.226kWh/kg, an d1.11-12.15$m^2$/Wh, respectively. Grinding time of 30 min , impeller speed of 750 rpm, and mixed ratio of 4.8 were chosen as the best operating conditions of the stirred ball mill for fine grinding . At these conditions, mean particle diameter of the fine ash, grinding energy efficiency, grinding throughtput, and specific energy input were 2.73${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 3.95$m^2$/Wh, 0.25kg/h, and 1.22kWh/kg, respectively.
