This study was made on the taxa Chrysanthemum zawadskii complex that grow in South Korea on the basis of chromosomes, epidermis, pollens and gross morphology. I have found four types of chromosome numbers, 36, 45, 54, and 72 as a polyploidal series. Even though the gross morphology was quite similar almost the same gross morphology, chromosome number was different among the taxa. The taxa of 36 chromosomes present broad and fine lobed leaves which grow separately, broad leafed taxon in the mainland of Korea and the other's in Ullungdo Island which is isolated form the mainland in the East Sea. The taxa of 54 chromosomes are also present in the broad and in the fine lobed leaves. The fine lobed leave taxon grows in central to northern Korea and in the high altitude of mountains. Broad leafed taxon grows in central to southern Korea and comparatively lower altitude of the mountains. The taxon of 72 chromosomes is grown in the high altitude of Mt. Hallasan which is isolated from the mainland of Korea. According to this study of Chrysanthemum zawadskii complex, I have arranged the scientific names, as Chrysanthemum zawadskii subsp. latilobum, subsp. acutilobum, subsp. naktongenese, subsp. lucidum, subsp. coreanum and hybrid between subsp. acutilobum X subsp. latilobum.
A series of dimesogenic compounds having two identical, terminal Schiff base type mesogens and a central polymethylene spacer were prepared and their properties were compared with those of the corresponding monomesogenic compounds. The mesomorphic properties of the compounds were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and on a hot-stage of a polarizing microscope. All of the dimesogenic compounds formed mesophases enantiotropically with the exception of pentamethylene-1,5-bis(4-oxybenzylidene 4-n-butylaniline). This compound was monotropic and formed only a nematic phase on heating the solid, whereas it formed nematic as well as smectic A phases on cooling the isotropic liquid. Those compounds containing longer (octamethylene and decamethylene) spacers favored the formation of nematic phase whereas those having shorter (dimethylene and tetramethylene) spacers formed smectic phases. In general, the variety of mesophase forms exhibited by the dimesogenic compounds was significantly less than that shown by the corresponding monomesogenic compounds.

A series of compounds that contain varying numbers of the same mesogenic structure, biphenyl p-oxybenzoate unit, attached through a pentamethylene spacer to the central benzene ring were prepared and their liquid crystallinity was studied. The mesophase-forming ability of a dimesogenic compound was found to be greatly dependent on whether or not its geometric shape is linear and also on the existence of the pentamethylene spacer between the mesogen and the central core. The presence of the spacer enhanced the capacity of a compound to form a mesophase. In the trimesogenic compound the mesogens were linked to the 1,3,5-positions of the core benzene ring through the spacer. The compound was found to be enantiotropically nematic.

A series of new dimesogenic compounds whose mesogens are of aromatic ester or amide type having a trifluoromethyl $(CF_3)$ substituent at the para-position of each terminal phenolic rings were prepared and their liquid crystalline properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and on a cross-polarizing microscope. The compounds have two identical mesogenic units bracketing a central decamethylene spacer. Trifluoromethyl group appears to favor the formation of smectic phases when it is attached to a phenoxy or anilide terminal. Its group efficiency for mesophase formation seems to be inferior to other common substituents. A thermodynamic analysis of the phase transitions was made and the results were explained in relation to the structures of the compounds.
새로운 형태의 RER(Radio Frequency IDentification) 리더용 안테나 구조를 제안하였다.
A steam generator tubing is one of the main pressure boundary of the reactor coolant system in the nuclear power plants. Structural integrity refers to maintaining adequate margins against failure of the tubing. Burst pressure of a tube at tube support plate can be higher than that for a free-span tube because failure behaviors could be interfered from the tube support plate. Alternative repair criteria for out-diameter stress corrosion cracking indications in tubes to the drilled type tube support plate were developed, however, there are very limited information to the eggcrate type tube support plate. This paper discussed reinforcement effect of steam generator tube burst pressure with axial out-diameter stress corrosion cracking within an eggcrate type tube support plate. A series of tube burst tests were performed under the room temperature and it was found out that there is no significant but marginal effects.
Whereas the necessity for recycling and reuse is being emphasized owing to the depletion of resources and waste disposal problems caused by the continuous development of the industry, the importance of remanufacturing has been highlighted recently. Re-manufacturing involves a series of processes in which failed disposal or aging goods are recovered to a state similar to that of a new product. In this regard, machine tools, which are large structures, can achieve the effect of remanufacturing. Among the various elements constituting the machine tool, the main spindle portion that affects the processing precision is critical. Therefore, this study is conducted to derive improvement measures for the main axis of an old Miller planner via reverse engineering and central composite design, which is one of the core processes of remanufacturing.
Aerodynamic force coefficients are generally obtained from traditional wind tunnel tests or computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Unfortunately, the techniques mentioned above can sometimes be cumbersome because of the cost involved, such as the computational cost and the use of heavy equipment, to name only two examples. This study proposed to build a deep neural network model to predict the aerodynamic force coefficients based on data collected from CFD simulations to overcome these drawbacks. Therefore, a series of CFD simulations were conducted using different geometric parameters to obtain the aerodynamic force coefficients, validated with wind tunnel tests. The results obtained from CFD simulations were used to create a dataset to train a multilayer perceptron artificial neural network (ANN) model. The models were obtained using three optimization algorithms: scaled conjugate gradient (SCG), Bayesian regularization (BR), and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithms (LM). Furthermore, the performance of each neural network was verified using two performance metrics, including the mean square error and the R-squared coefficient of determination. Finally, the ANN model proved to be highly accurate in predicting the force coefficients of similar bridge sections, thus circumventing the computational burden associated with CFD simulation and the cost of traditional wind tunnel tests.

The aim of this research note is to provide the sums of the series $$\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}(-1)^k\({{a-i}\atop{k}}\)\frac{1}{2^k(a+k+1)}$$ for $i$ = 0, ${\pm}1$,${\pm}2$,${\pm}3$,${\pm}4$,${\pm}5$. The results are obtained with the help of generalization of Bailey's summation theorem on the sum of a $_2F_1$ obtained earlier by Lavoie et al.. Several interesting results including those obtained earlier by Srivastava, Vowe and Seiffert, follow special cases of our main findings. The results derived in this research note are simple, interesting, easily established and (potentially) useful.
This paper is in continuation of the paper very recently published [New Laplace transforms of Kummer's confluent hypergeometric functions, Math. Comp. Modelling, 55 (2012), 1068-1071]. In this paper, our main objective is to show one can obtain so far unknown Laplace transforms of three rather general cases of generalized hypergeometric function $_2F_2(x)$ by employing generalized Watson's, Dixon's and Whipple's summation theorems for the series $_3F_2$ obtained earlier in a series of three research papers by Lavoie et al. [5, 6, 7]. The results established in this paper may be useful in theoretical physics, engineering and mathematics.
