  • Exploiting multiple antennas at mobile devices is difficult due to limited size and power. In this paper, a distributed MIMO protocol achieving the capacity of conventinal MIMO systems is proposed and analyzed. For exploiting distributed MIMO features, Quantize-Map-and-Forward (QMF) scheme shows improved performance than Amplify-and-Forward (AF) scheme. Also, the protocol based on multiple access channel (MAC) is proposed to improve the multiplexing gain. We showed that sufficient condition of the number of slave nodes to achieve the gain of a MAC based protocol. Because the base station can support multiple clusters operating in distributed MIMO, the total cellular capacity can be extremely enhanced in proportional to the number of clusters.

  • We had introduced the backgrounds, history and physical meanings of Jong Nang in "Jeju Jong Nang Channel Code I". In this paper, we introduce practical the root of digital human binary coded Jong Nang communications as the wooden gate in Korea Jeju Island custom. We investigate Jong Nang gatemodels as an approximation of the AWGN model. The objective is to find a deterministic model, which is accessible to capacity analysis. Furthermore, this analysis should provide insights on the capacity of the AWGN model. Motivated by backhaul cooperation in cellular networks where cooperation is among base stations, we term the interference channel with conferencing transmitters. Jong Nang communicationsis normal 3 rafters placed on two vertical stones with three holes to convey the family's whereabouts that is deterministic signal, nowadays it is applied to backhaul in mobile base station and traffic signal.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a FCB detection algorithm for the GSM system which is european cellular standard. The detection algorithm can be implemented using received signal sampler, correlator, and post detection combiner. GSM mobile phone can use the proposed algorithm for detection of the Broadcasting Channel, and to obtain the initial timing estimate. The proposed algorithm has a architecture which is suitable for DSP or ASIC implementation, and required memory size is small. The performance of the algorithm is a function of the processing data window size and the threshold values. Proper window size and the threshold values can be determined by analyzing the correlator and combiner. The proposed algorithm has been implemented using DSP, and the performance was verified using baseband simulation. The simulation assumed frequency offset values of 0ppm and 15ppm with the receiver filter bandwidth set at both minimum and maximum. It is shown that the algorithm is robust under various assumptions, and suitable for real implementations.

  • Recently, the demand of mobile communication is rapidly increasing. Also, not only the voice service but also the nonvoice services such as data, FAX, and image service are required. Therefore, in this paper, the voice/data intergraed service methods that will be utilized as a basic core technology of the PCS systems are proposed and their performances are analyzed and compared by computer simulation. According to the simulation results, it could be seen that the performance of voice/data integrated PR-CDMA method is better than that of voice/data integrated broadband CDMA method using a dedicated terminal or a voice/data integrated terminal. The reason is that the voice/data integrated PR-CDMA method can overcome the weak points of CDMA protocol, such as a limitation of the fixed CDMA logical channel number and a falling-off in channel utilization, by using PRMA protocol as a multiple access method that the terminals to which a CDMA logical channel is assigned compete.

  • Frequency reuse in a cellular wireless communication environment gives rise to a phenomenon of cochannel interference. This paper introduces a power control strategy for OFDM based communication systems operating in such an environment. Among the existing power control schemes, IWF(iterative waterfilling) is known to exhibit relatively good performance. However, it requires feedback of power level and bit allocation information for each subcarrier from a receiver to its associated transmitter, which can lead to a considerable overhead, especially for the case of employing large number of subcarriers. Motivated by this, we present a simplified power control scheme with reduced overhead feedback, which allocates some nonzero identical power to the subcarriers of which channel conditions are above a certain threshold and zero power to the other ones. Computer simulations show that the proposed strategy produces a good approximation to the performance of the IWF in terms of the transmission power level while it requires less overhead feedback.

  • In this paper, a power amplifier intermodulation distortion has been analyzed to improve linearity and the analysis results are used to minimize the distortion for linear power amplifier design. The proposed design technique is which the intermodulation distortions of the final amplifier are removed by driver intermodulation distortions. This proposed technique is based on AM to AM distortion analysis using power series, and AM to PM distortion analysis results using Bessel function. To verify this technique implement a cellular HPA(High Power Amplifier) 30W. From the results of the implementation and measurement for the linear power amplifier, the spurious characteristic is shown as 50 dBc at 1.98 MHz with 30 W with 20FA. These results show that distortion characteristics are improved as much as 10 dB in spurious characteristic compared with conventional design method.

  • WiBro(Portable Internet Service) is service being capable to provide a high data rate wireless internet access with Personal Subscriber Station under the stationary or mobile environment, anytime and any where. It will fill the gap between very high data rate wireless local area networks and very high mobility cellular systems. The security is an important point of WiBro providing high data and mobile wireless services. This paper proposes user authentication mechanism of WiBro wireless networks applied EAP-AKA authentication protocol. As a result of Wireless authentication based on EAP-AKA, this mechanism is capable to be used in WiBro-WLAN-3GPP interworking scenario as well as the WiBro authentication mechanism.

  • The next generation cellular radio systems require high data rate transmission and large system capacity In order to meet these requirements, multiple antennas can be used at the base and mobile stations, forming MIMO(multiple-input, multiple-output) channels This paper considers a downlink MIMO system assuming a large number of base station antennas, a small number of mobile station antennas, and rich-scattering, quasi-stationary, and flat-fading channel environments When the channel state information is given at the base station in a single user system, a MIMO technique with SVD(singular value decomposition) and water-filling can achieve the maximal downlink channel capacity. In multi-user environments, however, SDMA(space division multiple acces) technique can be used to further increase the total channel capacity supported by the base station This paper proposes a MIMO SDMA technique which can transmit parallel data streams to each of multiple users. The proposed method. can achieve higher total channel capacity than SVD-based MIMO techniques or conventional SDMA using smart antennas.

  • Asynchronous mode W-CDMA system is kmown to be quite appropriate to the next generation mobile communication system, especially in a non-homogenious cellular architecture. In this case, however, each base station needs to use different spreading code for identification, so it is a demeanding task for a mobile terminal to find the best cell site and get an accurate code synchronization at the beginning of a communication. Since slow acquisition of a base station could mean the failure of initiation, a fast algorithm to accelerate the cell search process is essential. In this paper, a new cell search algorithm based on the binary code position modulation within the code block is proposed. Different cell sites are identified by different hopping code sequences, andeach position modulation is performed by the hopping code. The proposed algorithm is proved to make the cell search time in most places in a cell much shorter than the previous algorithms, and to make the receiver implementation simpler.

  • Generally, a geographical area consists of many regions called cells in wireless networks. Each mobile host(MH) in a cell communicates with a base station(BS) located in the center of the cell. The BSs are connected to each other by a static wired network. Since users are expected to move around during communication sessions, one of the most important QoS factors is related to the handoff. But, the handoff could fail due to unavailability of sufficient bandwidth in the next cell. As the individual cell size gradually shrinks to accommodate increasing the number of MHs, the probability of successful handoffs can be dropped. In this paper, we suppose a bandwidth reservation method to guarantee MHs against connection failure in case of frequent handoffs. This method predicts the mobility based on the geographical information and assigns the bandwidth reservation in proportion to the speed of MHs' motion. As a result, we can expect more exact moving path of MH and to reduce the waste of bandwidth.
