  • Cotyledon of Panax ginseng was cultured in the growth regulator-free Knudson C medium comprising only several kinds of mineral salts and sucrose. Shoot primordium or callus developed profusely from the cotyledonary tissue and finally plantlets were produced directly from the shoot primordium or indirectly through callus. Microscopic examination revealed that the epidermal cell as well as the mesophyll cell of the cotyledon became meristematic and divided, changing into multinucleate cell or multicellular body, eventually developing into either a shoot primordium or callus.

  • In this study, LCD Cell process has been analyzed through ARENA simulation. The major concern is to find the condition maximizing production rate (or quantity per hour). For the analysis, we have selected 4 factors and performed simulation experiments through $L_8(2^7)$ orthogonal arrays. Our results indicate that the production may be maximized with well selected conditions proposed in this study. The results obtained from this study may provide a good base for practical applications.

  • Reduced life-cycle and scale of electronic products make the conventional automated manufacturing system difficult to keep on competitiveness in these days. Reduced life-cycle requires an agile adaptation of manufacturing to new products and reduced scale requires enhanced precision as well as high speed. In this research, We propose a new concept called as "One-Cell Minifactory" in which various processes are combined to produce final modules or products and human interaction can be combined easily. We hope the proposed concept can guide new developments of automated manufacturing in electronics, optics and bio-engineering.

  • Transitional cell carcinoma(TCC) was identified by cytological and ultrasonographic findings in an 11-year-old, intact female Yorkshire terrier with intermittent hematuria for three years. In color-doppler ultrasound images there was marked irregular wall thickness of the bladder surface and well-defined hyperechoic focal lesions within the mass. Active vascular response was observed in the surroundings of hyperechoic lesions.

  • The effects of polyacetylenes on living membrances, rat erythrocyte and murine leukemic L1210 cell as well as artificial lipid bilayer were determined to investigate the cytotoxic mechanism of polyacetylenes against cancer cell lines. As results, panaxydol and panaxynol caused erythrocyte hemolysis dose-dependently while panaxytriol had no lysis. For liposomes composed of phosphatidyl choline (PC) and phosphatidic acid(PA), all three polyacetylenes supressed the osmotic behavior at the same degree.

  • In this paper, the circuit of DTCNN designed using dilation and erosion operation, a basic operation of gray-scale morphology, also each cell designed PE in order to having extension using the local connectivity. In this PE design, connection of between cell and cell become simple. And it is realized to easily VLSI realization as well as to circuit to be parallel processing. As the resutls of simulations, the proposed method was verified to improved more operation speed than the sequential data processing, parallel processing DTCNN was implemented in a 0.8.mu.m CMOS technology using COMPASS Tool.

  • Cellulose triacetate(CTA) liquid crystal solutions obtained via dissolution of CTA in solvent mixture of triflucroacetic acid and methylene chloride were spun and saponified in various chemicals. Among chemicals, methanol/sodium hydroxide mixture endowed highest tenacity as well as modulus to regenerated cellulosic fiber and the fiber thereof showed Cell I or Cell IV morphology, or mixed morphology of Cell I and IV.

  • Change of IgG production of feline mononuclear cell(MNC) was evalual vitro. MNC was treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPS) before cortisol administration. tisol induced change of B cell subpopulation with surface IgG and reduced IgG prods against virus. However, before treatment o$\ulcorner$ MNC with LPS induced increasement of subpopulation with surface IgG and IgG production against virus. These results impel: diminution of IgG production by cortisol is well again by LPS treatment.

  • The adsorption of methane in K+ ion exchanged zeolite L has been studied using grand canonical ensemble Monte Carlo simulation. Average number of molecules per unit cell, number density of molecules in zeolite, distribution of molecules per unit cell, average potential per sorbate molecule, and isosteric heats of adsorption were calculated, and these results were compared with experimental results. The simulation results agreed fairly well with experimental ones. All methane molecules were located in the main channel, and the average potential of sorbate molecule was almost constant regardless of average number of molecules per unit cell and the amounts sorbed in zeolite.

  • Granular cell tumor is not rare and is a well recognized entity which has a wide anatomic distribution, with roughly one half of the lesions found in the head and neck. However, occurrence in the thyroid is extremely rare and has not been described well as surgeon's view. The authors have recently experienced a case of multifocal granular cell tumor of the thyroid in a 26-year-old women presented with painless mass in the anterior neck area and fatigue. So, we present this case with the review of literatures.
