소취 섬유의 제조에 관한 연구(III) - 산화티탄(IV)을 이용한 소취 섬유의 제조 및 $TiO_2$ sol 용액의 농도가 소취율에 미치는 영향 - (Study for the Preparation of Deodorizing Fiber( III ) - Preparations of Deodorizing Fibers using $TiO_2$ and Effects of $TiO_2$ sol Concentration on the Deodorant Activity-)

  • The preparations of deodorizing fibers using $\textrm{TiO}_2$ have been investigated. $\textrm{TiO}_2$ is known to be an excellent photocatalyst for the degradation of organic and inorganic contaminants in water. $\textrm{TiO}_2$ catalyst have been supported on the glass fiber by a dip-coating procedure. The resulting materials have been characterized by XRD and SEM. The immobilized catalysts were tested in the photocatalytic degradation of $\textrm{NH}_3$, $\textrm{CH}_3\textrm{SH}$ and $\textrm{CH}_3\textrm{CHO}$. The deodorant activity(D.A.) of these deodorizing fibers was measured by chromogenic gas detector tubes. The efficient deodorant activity results have been achieved through the increase of $\textrm{TiO}_2$ sol concentration.

  • Esterification reaction between succinic acid[SA] and 1,4-butanediol [BD] was kinetically investigated in the presence of organometallic catalysts (ESCAT-100Ag18, MBTO) at $150{\sim}180^{\circ}C$. The reaction followed from the measurement of the quantity of water which was distilled from the reaction vessel. The esterification reaction was carried out under the first order kinetics with respect to the concentration of reactants and catalyst, respectively. The overall reaction order was 2nd. From the examination of relationship between apparent reaction rate constants and reciprocal absolute temperature, the activation energy has been calculated as 146.70 kJ/mol(ESCAT-100Ag18) and 87.57 kJ/mol(MBTO), respectively.

  • A preparation method of cobalt supported alumina catalyst for a emergency escape mask cartridge has been studied. Catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation method using pre-shaped $\gamma$=alumina powders of 70-100 mesh. The catalyst was tested in a continuous-flow reactor system and characterized by elemental analysis, BET and TGA-DTA techniques. Cobalt shows higher activity than platinum or nickel for carbon monoxide oxidation at room temperature. Optimum loading amount of cobalt was 10 wt.% for CO oxidation and the reaction activity increases gradually with the increase of calcination temperature up to $450^{\circ}C.

폐 Ni 촉매로 부터 Nickel Yellow의 조성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Preparation of Hickel Yellow from Waste Ni-Catalyst)

  • NiNH$_{4}PO_{4}$ was Prepared from waste Ni catalyst used in hydrogenation of oil and fat, NiNH$_{4}PO_{4}$ was calcined at different temperature respectly 800, 1000, 1100$^{\circ}$C to prepare Nickel yellow. The results from this experiment are summerized as follow: 1) Nickel yellow formed at 1100$^{\circ}$C was most clearness yellow color from color analyzer data. 2) Nickel yellow was consist of ${\alpha}-Ni_{2}P_{2}O_{7}$, $Ni_{3}(PO_{4})_{2}$ from X-ray diffraction analysis. 3) The endothermic pick at 100$^{\circ}$C and exotherwic pick about 1050$^{\circ}$C on calcination of NiNH$_{4}PO_{4}$ were checked in DTA (difference thermal analysis data)

  • Amorphous alumina(AA) the precursor of ${\gamma}$-alumina for catalyst support was made in the newly designed ball filled heating column. Some properties of AA as precursor were investigated. In observation of microstruc-ture and pore structure of AA and its derivatives scanning electronic microscope(SEM) and transmission electronic microscope(TEM) were used. It was found that the width of one particle in AA was 45~60$\AA$ and the average distance among the particles ranged 9~12 $\AA$ which suggested a micropore structure. When AA was reacted with water the shape of the surface was found to be altered and acicular bioehmite was formed inside AA which contributed inproved formability. Pore distribution was evaluated for the three samples of AA ground and granulated lump and La2O3 coated alumina. Acid sites were quantitatively determined by ammonia TPD method and the effect of impurity of Na on acid sites was discussed. Water adsorption capacity was evaluated in terms of a desiccant.

  • A new and efficient method for the preparation of substituted 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones via Biginelli synthesis using catalytic amounts of 1,3-dichloro-5,5-dimethylhydantoin is presented. Short reaction times, easy work-up, high yields of products and stability, easy-handling, non-toxicity and cheapness of the catalyst are noteworthy advantages of the present work.

  • The displacement of carbon black to polypyrrole as a catalyst supporter in the fuel electrode of a direct methanol fuel cell was investigated. Polypyrrole was obtained as a black powder by the chemical polymerization of pyrrole with three different oxidants. The synthesized polypyrroles were pasted on carbon paper and transformed to the fuel electrodes with electrochemically deposited platinum. The prepared fuel electrode was assembled and mounted in a unit cell using a membrane and cathodic electrode film. In comparison with the carbon black fuel electrode, the performance of the unit cell was analyzed in relation to the state of the catalyst, the type of oxidant, and the morphology of the polypyrrole powder.

Preparation of Iron Catalytic Layer onto Functionalized Silicon Substrate for Synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes

  • In this study, iron oxide nanoclusters layer (Nc) was prepared onto functionalized silicon substrate by wet method. The amine-terminated SAM fabricated on silicon substrate (APTMS/Si) was carried out by UV-treatment and immersed into the FeCl3/HCl aqueous solution. Then, Nc were immobilized onto oxidized SAM silicon substrate (SAMs/Si) through electrostatic interaction between cationic Nc and anionic SAMs/Si. This catalytic layer (Nc/SAMs/Si) was used to grow carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The characterization results clearly show that the well-graphitized CNTs were synthesized by using functionalized silicon substrate as a template having appropriate density of catalyst. These consequences show that SAM containing template is important to achieve the effective layer of catalyst to synthesize CNTs.

Preparation of Flexible Terpolymers using Various Metallocene Catalyst/Borate Cocatalyst System and their Epoxidation

  • In this study, flexible poly(ethylene-ter-1-hexene-ter-divinylbenzene) was prepared using four types of metallocene catalysts (rac-Et(Ind)2ZrCl2, rac-SiMe2(Ind)2ZrCl2, rac-SiMe2(2-Me-Ind)2ZrCl2, (C5Me5)TiCl2[O-2,6-iPr2(C6H3)]) and two types of borate catalysts (trityl tetrakisborate and dimethylanilinium tetrakisborate). The yield, catalytic activity, molecular weight, structure, composition, and thermal properties of the terpolymers prepared using the various catalysts and cocatalyst systems were evaluated. Epoxidation of the terpolymers was successfully performed and this transformation was studied by 1H NMR and FTIR.
