치과정밀주조에 활용되는 Air-Vent의 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Effect of Air-Vent Utilized to Dental Precision Casting)

  • On purpose of relative comparison of between air-vent attached pattern and non attached one, casting tests were accomplished by castability analysis unrig wax screen mesh pattern. Experimental specimens are divided Into 4groups. 1) Air-vent attached pattern with high casting pressure(coil spring type centrifugal casting machine 2.5turn). 2) Air-vent attached pattern with low casting pressure(coil spring type centrifugal casting machine 1.5turn). 3) Air vent non attached pattern with high casting pressure(coil spring type centrifugal casting machine 2.5turn). 4) Air-vent non attached pattern with low casting pressure(coil spring type centrifrgal casting machine 1.5turn). The main results are as follows : 1) The condition of high casting pressure no.1, no.3 were showed perfect castability. 2) The condition of low-casting pressure, there is a wide difference between no.2, no.4 group. Castability of no.2 group preferable to no.4 group(p<0.001). 3) Low casting pressure and complex shape cause the low-castability. So it is recommanded that use of air-vent in case of complex shaped wax pattern with low easting pressure.

국부의치(局部義齒) 제작(製作)에 사용(使用)되는 귀금속합금(貴金屬合金)과 비귀금속합금(非貴金屬合金)의 재(再) 사용(使用) 횟수에 따른 주조성(鑄造性) 비교(比較) 연구(硏究) (The Comparative Study on the Castability to the Frequency of Reuse with Precious Metal Alloys and Base Metal Alloys widely used in the Production of Partial Denture)

  • The purpose of this study is to get the difference of the castability in the production of partial denture between Precious Metal Alloys and Base Metal Alloys accompanied with the frequency of reuse. As materials for an experiment, we selected Baker-444 and Soo-444 and Soo-sung as Precious Metal Alloys, New Crown and Chrome Cobalt as Base Metal Alloys. And we tired to case all of them seven times. The experimental results were as follows : 1) In the probability of segments, Baker-444 showed 100$\pm$0.00%, Soo-sung 97.24$\pm$1.58%, New Crown 95.63$\pm$4.28%, and Chrome Cobalt 91.03$\pm$7.76%. Consequently, Precious Metal Alloys were decidely superior to Base Metal Alloys in the castability. 2) In the view of the acheived result, burn-out temperature and smocking time had greatly affected the castability. 3) After casting, Precious Metal Alloys were much less than Base Metal Alloys in the quantity of consumption. It made much difference from the the compiled stastics(p<0.01)

치과보철물 제작시 Sprue 부착 형태가 주조성에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Sprue joint Forms on Castability in dental Restorations)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of sprue joint form on castability in dental prosthetics. The researcher carried out experimental study according to the type was divided by sprue joint form. Therefore type A was made thicken than sprue diameter of type B and type C was made it conversely. The results were as follows: 1. In the order of castability, type C(87.8%) was first and then type A(87.0%) and type B(79.2%) was last. However there was no significant difference statistically. 2. If reservior was located at the correct position and in sufficient size, internal shrinkage porosity in the casting bodies were not generated in the type of all. 3. At the reservoir, internal shrinkage porosity was generated first in type A, followed by type Band type C in the order named. Although it gives no impact on casting body, porosity seems to appear the least when it's produced in the form of type C.

고압 금형 주조용 Al-4%Mg-0.9%Si 합금의 주조특성에 미치는 Fe, Mn 함량의 영향 (Effect of Fe, Mn Content on the Castability of Al-4%Mg-0.9%Si Alloys for High Pressure Die Casting)

  • Effect of Fe and Mn contents on the castability of Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si system alloy has been studied. According to the analysis of cooling curve for Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si-0.3wt%Fe-0.3/0.5wt%Mn alloy, ${\alpha}-Al_{15}(Fe,Mn)_3Si_2$ and ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phases crystallized above eutectic temperature of $Mg_2Si$. Therefore, these phases affected both the fluidity and shrinkage behaviors of the alloy during solidification. As Fe and Mn contents of Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si system alloy increased from 0.1 wt% to 0.4 wt% and from 0.3 wt% to 0.5 wt% respectively, the fluidity of the alloy decreased by 26% and 33%. When Fe content of the alloy increased from 0.1 wt% to 0.4 wt%, 23% decrease of macro shrinkage and 19% increase of micro shrinkage appeared. Similarly, Mn content of the alloy increased from 0.3 wt% to 0.5 wt%, 11% decrease of macro shrinkage and 14% increase of micro shrinkage appeared. Judging from the castability of the alloy, Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si alloy with low content of Fe and Mn, 0.1 wt% Fe and 0.3 wt% Mn, is recommendable.

비귀금속 합금을 이용한 주조체의 주조성과 Roughness에 관한 연구 (A Study on Castability and Roughness of the Casts Using Non-precious Alloys)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the castability and surface roughness of the casts using Non-percious alloys. For samples of 25 wax patterns, it is made from eight layers of sheet wax, arranged in the escalating layers. After fabricated wax patterns, using 5 kinds of Ni-Cr alloys is casted, and the casts are sandblasted. To castability, magnifier is used and values of surface roughness of the casts is measured with profilometer(tracing length 1.75mm, cutoff value 0.25mm) The results are as follows : 1. The castanbility of alloys, in case of C alloys, showed with $8.0{\pm}0.0000$, and in case of CS alloys and N alloys showed equal with $7.8{\pm}0.4472$, respectively. T alloys and V alloys showed equal with $7.2{\pm}0.4472$, respectively. 2. The values of surface roughness of the casts are decreased more T alloys than in case of order alloys, and in order, increased in case of CS alloys, C alloys, V alloys, N alloys, respectively.

  • To study the effect of the vent and dense surface of the phophate-bonded investment on the castability of a non-precious alloy used in PFM restoration, one-ended polypropylene straw patterns of 0.15mm thick, 5mm radius. 10mm-high were cast with Vera Bond. The following results were obtained. 1. Thin patterns could be cast completely with a non-precious alloy. 2. No difference in the castability was found among the patterns with vent, chill vent and with out vent. 3. Dense surface of the phosphate-bonded investment had no effect on the cast ability of a nonprecious alloy.

  • This study investigated the effect of burnout temperature on the castability of some nickelchromium alloys for porcelain fused to metal system and the effect of beryllium on the castability. Four alloys were evaluated: two contained beryllium(rexillium III, Super I) and two nonberyllium(Unibond, NNB). five burnout temperature, ranging form 100$^{\circ}F$ to 1800$^{\circ}F$, were aet at 200$^{\circ}F$ intervals for this study. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Beryllium-containing alloys were more castable than nonberyllium-containing alloys. 2. There was an optimal burnout temperature of range from 1400$^{\circ}F$ to 1600$^{\circ}F$ for the berylliumcontaining alloys studied. 3. An optimal burnout temperature for the nonberyllium alloys was not established.

코발트 크롬 합금의 주조성에 미치는 타이타늄의 효과 (The Effect of Titanium on the Castability of Cobalt-Chrome Alloy)

  • 연구의 목적은 타이타늄이 함유된 코발트 크롬의 주조성에 타이타늄이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 평가하기 위함이다. 원재료에는 코발트, 크롬, 몰리브덴, 실리콘, 망간, 탄소, 질소, 티타늄이 사용되었고 이것들을 정량계량하였다. $Biosil^F$ (Degudent, Germany)를 대조군으로 하였고, 실험군에는 티타늄을 1 wt% 에서 4 wt% 까지 각기 다른 함량으로 첨가하여 주조성을 평가하였다. 왁스 패턴은 $30{\times}40$ cm 크기의 직사각형 모양으로, 총 160개의 격자를 함유하고 있다. 원심주조기 (Neutrodyne Easy Ti: Manfredy)를 사용하여 왁스패턴을 주조하였다. 주조성의 평가는 왁스패턴의 4면이 완전한 격자의 수를 육안과 X-ray를 이용하여 검사하였다. 1 wt%에서 3 wt%의 티타늄을 함유한 금속은 대조군과 비슷한 주조성을 나타냈다. 4 wt%의 티타늄을 함유한 금속은 좋지 않은 결과를 보였다. 4 wt% 미만의 티타늄 함유한 실험군의 주조성은 대조군과 비슷하면서도 기계적인 물성은 증가됨을 보였으며 임상에서의 성공적인 사용을 가능케 한다.

주조기와 매몰재의 성분변화에 따른 티타늄의 주조성에 관한 연구 (THE EFFECT OF CASTING MACHINE AND INVESTMENT ON THE CASTABILITY OF TITANIUM ALLOY)

  • Statement of problem: There has been a eat interest in the use of titanium for fixed and removable prostheses in recent because of its excellent biocompatibility. However, the melting temperature and chemical reactivity of titanium necessities casting system different from those used in conventional casting. The current titanium casting systems are based on an electric-arc design for melting the metal in an argon atmosphere and its exclusive investment. Despite the new development in Ti casting system, inadequate mold filling and internal porosity are frequently observed casting defects. Purpose : The purposes of this study were to compare the castibility and reaction layer of the casting titanium under the two casting machines and their investment condition. Material and method: coping and machine-milled titanium coping according to the casting methods and the marginal configurations. The total 28 specimens were used, and these are divided into 4 groups according to 2 casting machines and 2 investments. The castings were analyzed using x-ray microanalysis and microhardness testing. The reaction layer between margin of titanium casting and the investments was observed and analyzed with scanning electron microscope. Result: 1. Castabiliy of casting titanium specimen was best in the group of centrifugal casting machine and Selevest $CB^{\circledR}$ and good that of Selevest CB and pressure differential casting machine, Rematitan plus and centrifugal casting machine, Rematitan plus and pressure differential casting machine in order. 2. There was no significanct correlation in titanium castability in respect of casting machine. However ANOVA indicated that Selevest $CB^{\circledR}$ groups had significantly better castability than Rematitan $plus^{\circledR}$ groups.(p<0.05) 3. There was a significant microhardness difference between centrifugal casting machine groups and pressure differential groups.(p<0.05) Titanium castings in centifugal groups had significantly harder than those in pressure differential groups. 4. The addition of zirconia decreased interfacial reactivity. Conclusion: above result revealed that of the castability of titanium casting specimens had little correlation in casting machines and was better in magnesia-based investment contained ZrO2 groups. However in order to practice casting titanium in clininic, its castability should be improved, also there should be more research on factor of castability so that long-span prothesis and removable partial denture metla frame may be casted completly.

Sprue의 길이와 주조압이 비귀금속 합금의 주조성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CASTABILITY OF BASE METAL ALLOYS WHICH ARE SPRUE LENGTH AN CASTING PRESSURE)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of sprue length and casting pressure on the relative castability of the base metal alloys, commonly used to make porcelain metal restoration. Samples of total 30 were constucted and devided into 6 groups according to three variables (low, medium, high). The total number of complety cast squares were counted, verified and recorded. The results of this 1. main effect of casting pressure was statistically significant.(P<0.05). 2. main effect of sprue length was not statistically significant.
