수증기 활성화법으로 제조된 활성탄의 탄화온도에 따른 세공구조 고찰 (Characteristics of pore structure of steam activated carbon with carbonization temperature)

  • Activated carbons were prepared from Korean coal by steam activation in this study. The variation of pore structure of the activated carbons were investigated according to different carbonization temperatures. Yield, surface area, pore volume and pore structure of this activated carbon were compared with those of activated carbon prepared without carbonization. The investigated carbonization temperature ranged from 700${\circ}C$ to 1,000${\circ}C$. Carbonization was carried out in nitrogen atmosphere for 70 minutes and activation was performed by steam at 950${\circ}C$ for 210 minutes. Surface area and pore volume of the resulting activated carbons increased with carbonization temperature. Also pore volume increased by 20% compared to the activated carbon without carbonization. Especially, in mesopore region, the activated carbon carbonized at 900${\circ}C$ had more pores by 60% than that of activated carbon carbonized at other temperature.

Preparation and Characterization of Carbonized Material from Al-Fe-Mg-Si Nanocomposites Impregnated Biomass

  • Our present study, we impregnated Al-Fe-Mg-Si (NFM) nanocomposites having various concentrations 0, 1000, 3000, and 5000 mg/L in biomass in order to make carbonized biomass. We characterized the properties of the impregnated samples through thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), pore distribution, scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The best results were observed for a NFM nanocomposites concentration of 5000 mg/L. After the first heat treatment, carbonization, and activation processes, the fixed carbon ratio and iodine adsorptivity were increased by 21.89% and 368 mg/g, 23.98% and 475 mg/g, 26.40% and 238 mg/g, respectively. The remove rate of malodorous and VOCs were that the sample shows good removal capabilities. From above results, our sample could be used for the removal of noxious and malodorous gases and for the purification of wastewater.

Influence of Carbonization Conditions in Hydrogen Poor Ambient Conditions on the Growth of 3C-SiC Thin Films by Chemical Vapor Deposition with a Single-Source Precursor of Hexamethyldisilane

  • This paper describes the characteristics of cubic silicon carbide (3C-SiC) films grown on a carbonized Si(100) substrate, using hexamethyldisilane (HMDS, $Si_2(CH_3)_6$) as a safe organosilane single precursor in a nonflammable $H_2$/Ar ($H_2$ in Ar) mixture carrier gas by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) at $1280^{\circ}C$. The growth process was performed under various conditions to determine the optimized growth and carbonization condition. Under the optimized condition, grown film has a single crystalline 3C-SiC with well crystallinity, small voids, low residual stress, low carrier concentration, and low RMS. Therefore, the 3C-SiC film on the carbonized Si (100) substrate is suitable to power device and MEMS fields.

The Carbonization Behaviors of Coal Tar Pitch for Mechanical Seal

  • Quinoline insoluble formed by the heat treatment was hot-pressed near its softening point. The green body was stabilized in the temperature range of $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ and subsequently carbonized below $1300^{\circ}C$ in an argon atmosphere. The behaviors of QI formation was examined with varying the heat treatment temperature and the lapse of time of the sample carbonized at various temperatures. And the mechanical property, corrosion resistance, and friction behavior were also measured optimum content of mesophase pitch ensured a dense structure and high $LC_{(002)}$ value, which resulted in high mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance, and low-stable friction behavior.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of insulating material with ELB(earth leakage circuit breaker) through tracking experiment and the study was carried out three different types of samples. The tracking is breakdown phenomenon of material surface that is generated on the organic insulating material. The test method applied IEC publication 587. The result of the sample breakdown by tracking was carbonized and resistance of between the electrodes is approximately 300$\Omega$. In the result of DSC analysis, the caloric peak was detected before 100$^{\circ}C$ in product of tracking. It appeared weight loss of 10.87% at 537$^{\circ}C$ on TGA. IR spectrum analysis showed carbon-hydrogen(C-H)bond on molecular structure that is the sample of tracking.

  • This study has been conducted for the purpose to develop a new technology using the carbonization process for establishing the resources circulation system for sewage sludge and enabling the sludge amount and volume to be reduced sanitarily and safely. Besides, it is thought that the effective value of the carbonized sludge is much greater even though there is any limitation to its applicable fields or use since it is not a product that is intentionally produced like any existing materials for conventional uses.

  • 전기회로에서 발생하는 아크로 인한 전기화재를 예방할 수 있는 아크차단기(AFCI)의 아크 검출성능 시험규격은 현재 UL1699가 세계적으로 인정되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 여기에 정의된 방법에 따라 탄화경로(Carbonized Path)를 생성하여 모의아크를 발생시켜 보았다. 그에 따른 전압을 가변하여 국내에서 사용되고 있는 전선 및 케이블에 탄화경로를 생성시킬 수 있는 적절한 전원을 제안하고, 아크가 발생한 탄화경로의 임피던스를 측정 및 분석함으로서 UL1699의 아크차단기 성능시험 방법을 검토하고 시험절차의 개선방법을 제안하였다.

늑도에서 출토된 탄화곡 (Carbonized grains excavated at Nook-Do)

  • 부산대학교박물관 팀이 서기2000년에 경남 사천시 늑도의 AD3세기 주거지를 제2차로 발굴하였는데 거기서 출토된 탄화곡을 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 밀(소맥 Triticum aestivum) 180톨, 보리(대맥 Horudeum vulgare) 4톨, 쌀(미 Oryza sativa) 6톨이 물체질로 수습되었다. 밀은 훼손된 것이 많고 현재의 재배종에 비하여 현저하게 작고 둥글다. 보리는 현재의 재배종과 거의 비슷하였다. 쌀은 지금의 재배종보다 소형이었는데 유전적으로 소형이었는지 도정과 정이나 또는 땅속에서 미생물의 침식으로 소형으로 되었는지는 알 수 없다. 쌀의 외형은 세장한 indica는 아닌 것 같이 보였다. DNA 분석 결과는 밀, 보리, 쌀 모두 공시된 시료(입)간에도 변이가 있고 각각의 재배종과도 차이가 있어서 이들 재배집단의 유전적 다양성이 짐작된다. 쌀의 유전적 구성 검토결과는 시료와 primer의 제한으로 japonica인지 indica인지 확정할 수 없었다.

  • A review is made on the chemical vapor deposition polymerization (CVDP) of insoluble and infusible poly(arylenevinylene)s and its applications to nanoscience. Poly(p-phenylenevinylene) (PPV), poly(naphthylenevinylene)s, poly(2,5-thinenylenevinylene) (PTV), and other homologous polymers containing oligothiophenes could be prepared by the CVDP method in the form of films, tubes, and fibers of nano dimensions. They would be readily converted to graphitic carbons of different structures by thermal treatment. Field emission FE) of carbonized PPV nanotubes, photoconductivity of carbonized PPV/PPV bilayer nanotubes and nanofilms also were studied.

  • In this study, Batch Test was carried out on the adsorption abilities to heavy metal of FWC, which occurred during the carbonization process was part of recycling methods of food waste. The heavy metals used in the experiment were lead and cadmium; mixing its solution with carbonized ratio of 50:1, respectively. The different concentrations were applied with 50, 100, 200, 400, and $800\;{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. When, the initial concentration is less than 200mg/l, there has been a high removal ratio of 20% to 50%. Comparing the test results on Lanmmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms, the Freundilich adsorption isotherm was well compatible.
