  • The interest and purpose of this study is to control of air-fuel ratio and develop control device of a spark ignition LPG engine with adopting open loop fuel system. The air-fuel ratio is derived by considering airflow resistane of air cleaner element. The result shows that air-fuel ratio becomes more and more rich when airflow resistance increases. Experiments about the influence of airflow resistance on the engine performance, drivability and emissions are performed. Therefore, it is known that open-loop fuel system depends on the absorbing resistance of air-cleaner.

  • 본 연구에서는 스마트폰을 이용한 실험실용 모형 지능형 자동차의 원격 제어 시스템을 구현하였다. 기존의 임베디드 기기(지능형 모형 자동차) 원격 제어 시스템은 단순한 1:1 통신으로 조종 기기와 임베디드 기기사이에 일정 간격을 유지해야 하는 단점이 있다. 본 시스템은 인터넷 망을 이용하여 구현 하였으므로 조종 기기와 임베디드 기기와의 네트워크 통신이 가능하다면 원격 조종이 가능한 거리의 제한이 없어진다. 사설 아이피끼리의 P2P 연결에서 공인아이피를 알아내기 위해 UDP서버 경유방식을 사용하였다. 그리고 기기 근처에 연결 가능한 무선 네트워크망이 있어야 한다는 단점을 개선하기 위해 Ad-Hoc방식을 구현하였다. 또한 일반패킷 구조를 사용하는 것 보다 직접 구현한 데이터 패킷 구조를 사용하여 이미지 및 센서 데이터를 전송한 결과 전송속도가 훨씬 개선하였다.

Correlation Between Facial Fracture and Cranial Injury (안면부 골절 환자와 두부 손상의 연관성)

  • Purpose: There are two theories about the relationships between facial fractures and cranial injuries. One is that facial bones act as a protective cushion for the brain, and the other is that facial fractures are the marker for increased risk of cranial injury. They have been debated on for many years. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between facial fractures and cranial injuries. Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 242 patients with facial fractures. The data were analyzed based on the medical records of the patients: age, gender, cause of injury, Injury Severity Score (ISS), alcohol intake, type of facial fractures, and type of cranial injury. The patients were divided into two groups: facial fractures with cranial injury and facial fractures without cranial injury. We compared the general characteristics between the two groups and evaluated the relationship between each type of facial fracture and each type of cranial injury. Results: Among the 242 patients with facial bone fractures, 96 (39.7%) patients had a combination of facial fractures and cranial injuries. Gender predilection was demonstrated to favor males: the ratio was 3:1. The mean age was $36.51{\pm}19.63$. As to the injury mechanism, traffic accidents (in car, out of car, motorcycle) were statistically significant in the group of facial fractures with cranial injury (p=0.038, p=0.000, p=0.003). The ISS was significant, but alcohol intake was not significant. No significant relationship between facial fractures and skull fractures was found. Only maxilla fractures, zygoma fractures, and cerebral concussion had a significant difference in cranial injury (p=0.039, p=0.025). Conclusion: There is a no correlation between facial fractures and skull fractures, which suggests that the cushion effect is the predominent relationship between facial fractures and cranial injuries.

THE REMINERALIZING EFFECTS OF EARLY ENAMEL CAR10US LESION BY SUPERSATURATED BUFFER SOLUTION UNDER PH CYCLING MODEL (pH 순환 모델에서 과포화 용액의 초기 우식 법랑질에 대한 재광화 효과)

  • Dental caries is the most common oral disease. There are many factors contributing to its development, but complete understanding and prevention are not fully known. However, it is possible to remineralize the early enamel curious lesion by fluoride containing remineralization solution. Recently the pH-cycling model has been used to examine the effect of fluoride solution on remineralization of artificial caries in vitro as it can closely simulate the conditions encountered in vivo within a carefully controlled environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the remineralizing effects of supersaturated buffer solutions under pH-cycling model. The specimen with 3mm-diameter was made using mature bovine incisors which has no caries and has sound enamel surface. Early curious lesions were produced by suspending each specimens into demineralization solution at pH 5.0 for 33 hours and the specimen whose surface hardness value ranged from 25 to 45 VHN were used. The pH cycling treatment regimen consisted of 5 min soaks of three treatment solutions four times per days for 15 days and the continuous cycling of demineralization and remineralization were carried out for 15 days. Following the pH-cycling treatment regimen, the specimens' surface microhardness were measured by the Vickers hardness test (VHN) and analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan's multiple-range test. 1. The surface microhardness value of supersaturated solution, Senstime, and Gagline groups were increased after pH cycling, and that of supersaturated solution was significantly Increased compared to saline group(P<0.05). 2. The surface remineralization effect of fluoride containing solutions was accelerated by saliva under pH-cycling mode 3. The pH cycling model was considered appropriate to mimic the intra-oral pH changes when evaluating demineralization and remineralization in vitro. Under the results of above study, salivary remineralization effect can be improved by fluoride containing remineralization solution.   • The number of vehicles applied diesel engine are rapidly rising for fuel economy. Accompanying this trend, application of an after-treatment system is strictly required as a result of reinforced emission regulation. The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system is considered as the most efficiency method to reduce particulate matter (PM) by car makers but also in retrofit market. In recently, various kinds of partial flow DPF are widely used for proper filtration performance and reducing of pressure drop but it is difficult to define the characteristics of these filters because the filtration mechanism is obscure according to the status of these systems. In this paper we investigated the characteristics of cell open type DPF according to the status of filter especially, PM loading. The PM loading mass in the p-DPF are predicted from increase of differential pressure of DPF and the trend of filtration efficiency so that we can measure filtration efficiency and Balance Point Temperature (BPT) of this p-DPF according to PM loading.

  • Since many design problems in the railroad, aerospace and machine structures involve considerations of the effect of cyclic loading, manufacturing and quality control processes much fully account for fatigue of critical components. Due to the sensitivity of the Paris law, it is very important to calculate .DELTA.K numerically to minimize the error of predicted fatigue life in cycles. However, it is shown that the p-version of FEM based on LEFM analysis is far better suited for computing the stress intensity factors than the conventional h-version. To demonstrate the proficiency of the proposed scheme, the welded T-joint with crack problems of box car body bolster assembly and a crack problem emanating from a circular hole in finite strip have been solved.

Effect of Different Level of Monensin Supplemented with Cold Process Urea Molasses Mineral Block on In vitro Rumen Fermentation at Different Days of Adaptation with Monensin

  • Effect of period of adaptation and levels of monensin were studied for microbial fermentation/ digestibility to find out the optimum period of adaptation of monensin in rumen and suitable level of monensin in wheat straw+concentrate and wheat straw+UMMB diet. The mean digestibility of dry matter was decreased upto T-3 treatment (49.17%), however, digestibility of DM was affected upto period (P-2). NDF digestibility was affected due to treatment under P1 and P2 (p<0.05). Average digestibility of ADF was increased to 53.33% at T-3 level of monensin and P4 days of adaptation. TVFA (mmole/100 ml) were decreased from 9.49 in T-1 to 7.70 in T-7. Periods were not effectives except P2 (14 days of adaptation). Similarly, total gas was decrease with the increase of monensin levels in diet. Although acetate percentage in TVFA was not affected either due to level of monensin or period of adaptation but propionate was increased due to increase in monensin at 21 days of adaptation (P-3). Butyrate (%) was decreased significantly in T-2 to T-6 as compared to T-1 group. Total gas was significantly (p<0.01) higher in group T-1 (control) and it reduced significantly in T-5, however, differences in gas production between group T-3, T-5 and T-7 at P-1 was not significant. Methane production was reduced on P-3 and P-4 level of adaptation due to treatment. The overall result indicated that 21 days of adaptation with monensin was sufficient to mask the inhibiting effect of monensin to cell wall digestibility and 35 ppm monensin is optimum to reduce methane production and increase propionate productions.

A Case Study on the Characteristics of the Road Traffic Noise in Plant Communities (학교 정온시설 앞 식물군락 조성지역에서 도로교통소음 특성에 대한 사례연구)

  • This paper represents a comparison the difference between existence and nonexistence of soundproof trees for road traffic noise. Also we suggested that the simple equation has been derived using a single regression analysis for predicting levels of $Leq_{th}$ at a given distance from a road in terms of the flow rate, the mean speed of the traffic, and the percentage of the type vehicles in the existence and nonexistence of soundproof trees. We classified a vehicle into four and analyzed contribution rate to traffic volume. As a result, the order showed as followed: light vehicle>medium vehicle>heavy vehicle>motorcycle. However, the results of analyzing contribution rate with between traffic volume and traffic noise by the each type showed as followed; Motorcycle>Light vehicle>Medium vehicle>Heavy vehicle. This study showed that the most a lof of traffic volumes of the three vehicles(light vehicle, medium vehicle and motorcycle) and heavy vehicle were existed in 67 km/h and 61 km/h of car speed, respectively. The total traffic noise to the mean car speed decreased because of the inflow a lot of traffic volumes between 2016 and 2388 in the range of 67 km/h of light vehicle speed, in traffic composition of 4.75% heavy vehicles, and 1.11% motorcycle. the final result for this study showed that statistical paired t-test for between existence and nonexistence of soundproof trees was significant(p<0.05) and the difference between daytime and night in the location of the nonexistence of plant communities with the independent sample T-test was significant(p<0.05). However, the independent sample T-test for analyzing the variance of traffic noise between daytime and night was not significant(p>0.05).

Comparison Study of Nitrogen Dioxide and Asthma Doctor's Diagnosis in Seoul - Base on Community Health Survey 2012~2013 - (서울시 대기 중 이산화질소 농도와 천식증상의 비교 연구 - 2012~2013년 지역사회건강조사 자료를 중심으로 -)

  • Seoul city has high population density as well as high traffic congestion, which are vulnerable to exposure of environmental pollutions caused by car traffic. However, recent studies are only on local regions about road traffic and air pollution or health effect of road traffic on residents. Thus, comprehensive study data are needed in terms of overall Seoul regions. In this study utilized the nitrogen dioxide concentration through the national air pollution monitoring network data, 2012 to 2013. It also divided regions into high and low exposure districts via the Origin destination data developed by the Korea transport institute to quantify and evaluate the effect of transport policies and analyzed a correlation of asthma symptoms with high and low exposure districts through raw data of community health survey from the Korea centers for disease control and prevention. Based on the collected data, the pearson's correlation analysis was conducted between air pollution substance concentration and high exposure district and multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of traffic environment and factors on asthma symptoms of residents. Accordingly, the following results were derived. First, the high exposure district was higher concentrations of nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) as per time compared to those of the low exposure district (p<0.01). Second, analysis on correlation between average daily environmental concentration in the air pollution monitoring network and road traffic showed that nitrogen dioxide had a significant positive correlation (p<0.01) with car traffic and total traffic as well as with truck traffic (p<0.05) statistically. Third, an adjusted odds ratio about asthma doctor's diagnosis in the high and low exposure districts was analyzed through the logistic regression analysis. With regard to an adjusted model 2 (adjusted gender, age, health behavior characteristics, and demographic characteristics) odds ratio of asthma doctor's diagnosis in the high exposure district was 1.624 (95% CI: 1.269~2.077) compared to that of the low exposure district, which was significant statistically (p<0.001).
