Optically coupled linear isolation amplifier requires special care to avoid oscillation in actual applications. In this paper methods to analyze the frequency characteristics of the amplifier are proposed to reveal the cause of oscillation and to provide design guidelines. The loop gain of the amplifier obtained through the equivalent circuit model shows that the phase margin is too small to ensure stable operations. Methods to get non-oscillatory response are proposed and the resulting frequency responses are analyzed. The common method adding a small capacitor to the amplifier is shown to degrade the frequency bandwidth. The frequency response of output voltage explains the need of filter capacitor in output stage. The usefulness of the method is verified through experiments.
This paper presents frequency response compensation technique, and a self-oscillation circuit for capacitive microresonator with the compensation technique using programmable capacitor array, to compensate for the frequency response distorted by parasitic capacitances, and to obtain stable oscillation condition. The parasitic capacitances between the actuation input port and capacitive output port distort the frequency response of the microresonator. The distorted non-ideal frequency response can be compensated using two programmable capacitor arrays, which are connected between anti-phased actuation input port and capacitive output port. The simulation model includes the whole microresonator system, which consists of mechanical structure, transimpedance amplifier with automatic gain control, actuation driver and compensation circuit. The compensation operation and oscillation output of the system is verified with the simulation results.
A model is presented to explain charging phenomena into the oxide layer when a metal-oxide-silicon(MOS) capacitor is driven by a large amplitude and high frequency ac signal sufficient to produce avalanche injection in the silicon. During avalanche, minority carriers are injected. It is assumed that some of these minority carriers attain sufficient energy to surmount the potential barrier at the interface, and then inter the oxide. Measurements of C-V curves are made for the MOS capacitor with p-type silicon substrates before and after avalanche injection. This paper studies how charging in the oxide and the interface depends on oxide properties. It is concluded that this charging effect is related to the presence of water in the oxide.
Influence of the metallization during the manufacturing of the ceramic multilayer capacitor on the dielectric properties was studied as a change of the capacity and the dissipation factor. Due to the change of the relative dielectric constant as a function of the measuring temperature the influence of the metallization could be obtained and the change of the dissipation factor as a function of the measuring frequency was anaysed. In order to investigate the boundary effect between the metallization and the dielectric a kind of microstructure model at the internal Grain and Grain Boundary was constructed and tried to analyse the change of the dielectric properties.
This paper proposes a novel control strategy of SVC(Static var compensator) using cascade multilevel inverter. To control the reactive power instantaneously, the dq-dynamic system model is described and analyzed. A single pulse pattern based on the SHE(Selective Harmonic Elimination) technique is determined from the look-up table to reduce the line current harmonics and a rotating fundamental frequency switching scheme is applied to adjust the DC capacitor voltage at the scheme level. From the simulation, it is verified that this proposed control scheme make the dynamic control response of SVC fast, the current harmonics low, and the DC capacitor voltage balanced.
Due to the rise in energy consumption and natural resource prices, the demand to improve energy efficiency in the construction machine has been highlighted. Even though many researchers have contributed to the development of the technology, CO2 gas emissions of heavy machinery remains high. One of the most significant problems of the novel excavator with internal combustion engines is the emission of harmful gas. To reduce emissions in the construction machine, it is necessary to replace the internal combustion engines with the alternative one. To overcome those problems, this paper focuses on the adoption of PEMFC hybrid engine for the excavator system. An internal combustion engine is replaced by new structures with fuel cell, battery and ultra capacitor. The proposed system has been designed and modeled using Simcenter Amesim software and compared with the conventional one through simulation results.
UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) consists of two voltage sourced converter(VSC)s inserted into AC system through series and parallel coupling transformer, where two VSCs are linked by capacitor at DC-side. Since VSC acts as an AC voltage source behind a reactance, where both magnitude and phase angle of the source are controllable, UPFC can be represented by the equation related to input-output relation of two VSCs. Voltage control of DC-link capacitor provides the path of real power flow between two VSCs. While UPFC is controlled for maintaining the given reference value in steady state, it should be controlled for damping power oscillation in dynamics. For such a control objective, the control strategy based on the energy function was proposed and has been shown to be effect and robust for damping power oscillation of power system. In this paper, UPFC model based on the VSC was analysed and applied to power-flow control and stability analysis. The control strategy based on the energy function is adopted for damping power oscillation of power system. The effectiveness of proposed control strategy was verified by simulation study
A simple mathematical model for gacilitated mass transport with a fixed site carrier membrane was derived by assuming an instantaneous, microscopic concentration (activity) fluctuation, The concentration fluctuation, developed due to reversible chemical reaction between carrier and solute, could acuse the higher chemical potential gradient and the facilitated transport. For mathematical formulation, an analogy was employed between the mass transfer for the facilitated transport with fixed site carrier membrane and the electron transfer in a parallel resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit. For the single RC model, it was assumed that a single capacitor represented the total carrier and a solute could not inter-diffuse between matrix and carrier, allowing only two diffusional pathways, This assumption was relaxed by adopting a serial combination of the parallel RC circuit. Here, a solute diffuses in two elements (matrix or carrier) can exchange its pathway, exhibiting four diffusional pathways. The current models were examined against experimental data and the agreement was exceptional.
Single phase of multicomponent oxide ZrTiO4 film could be prepared through surface sol-gel route simply by coating the mixture of 100 mM zirconium butoxide and titanium butoxide on $Pt/Ti/SiO_2Si(100)$ substrate, following pyro lysis at $450^{\circ}C$, and annealing it at 770 $^{\circ}C.$ The dielectric constant of the film was reduced as the film thickness decreased due to of the interfacial effects caused by layer/electrode and a few voids inside the multilayer. However, the dielectric property was independent of applied dc bias sweeps voltage (-2 to +2 V).The dielectric constant of bulk film, 31.9, estimated using series-connected capacitor model was independent of film thickness and frequency in the measurement range, but theoretical interfacial thickness, ti, was dependent on the frequency. It reached a saturated ti value, $6.9{\AA}$, at high frequency by extraction of some capacitance component formed at low frequency range. The dielectric constant of bulk ZrTiO4 pellet-shaped material was 33.7 and very stable with frequency promising as good applicable devices.
Photovoltaic conditioning systems normally use a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to deliver the highest possible power to the load continuously when variations occur in the insolation and temperature. A unique method of tracking the maximum power points (MPPs) and forcing the boost converter system to operate close to these points is presented through deriving small-signal model and transfer function of boost converter considering input capacitor. This paper aims at modeling boost converter including fairly large equivalent series resistance(ESR) of input reservoir capacitor by state-space-averaging method and PWM switch model and compares both methods using Bode plots. In the future, properly designed controller for compensation will be constructed in 3kw real system for maximum photovoltaic power tracking control.
