  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between adjustment, temperament, and mothers' childrearing behavior. The subjects were 132 three to five-year old children. The research instruments included TRS(Temperament Rating Scale), the modified IPBI(Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory), and PAQ (Preschool Adjustment Questionnaire). The data were analyzed by percentiles and canonical correlation analysis. The results were as follows : Among the five temperament factors and four childrearing factors, the best predictor of children's adjustment was activity temperament. The next one was Limit Setting of childrearing behavior. Among the five adjustment measures, the one predicted best by children's temperament and mothers' childrearing behavior was Adjustment to Preschool Routines.

  • This paper was aimed to, using a new data structure, develop a set of algorithms to execute the output function of Digital System. These functions were represented as directed, acyclic graphs. by applying many restrictions on vertices on graph, the efficient manipulation of boolean function was accomplished. The results were as follows; 1. A canonical representation of a boolean function was created by the reduction algorithm. 2. The operation of two functions was accomplished using t he apply algorithm, according to the binary operator. 3. The arguments having 1 as the value nf function were enumerated using the satisfy algorithm. 4. Composing TTL 74181 4-bit ALU and 74182 look-ahead carry generator, the ALU having 4-bit and 16-bit as word size was implemented.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the clothing memory which affects apparel purchase behavior. The construction of clothing memory, the relationship between clothing memory and apparel purchase behavior, and the difference of clothing memory among persons by demographic variables are examined 746 female apparel consumers answer the questionnaire and data are analyzed by factor analysis, canonical correlation, Pearson correlation, and t-test. The result of this study are as follows; 1. There are three dimensions in the clothing memory which memory apparel purchase behavior; general memory about clothing, memory of appropriate clothing for oneself and memory of apparel purchase. 2. nothing memory affects apparel purchase behavior. General memory about clothing plays the most important role in the apparel purchase behavior especially in the amount of apparel purchase. 3. Unmarried young women with high income, high education level, and decent job have large amount of clothing memory.

  • Case markers in Korean are omissible in colloquial speech. Previous discourse studies of Caseless bare NPs in Korean show that the information structure of zero Nominative not only differs from that of overt Nominative but it also differs from that of zero Accusative in many respects. This paper aims to provide a basis for these semantic/pragmatic properties of Caseless NPs through the syntactic difference between bare subjects and bare objects: namely, the former are left-dislocated NPs, whereas the latter form complex predicates with the subcategorizing verbs. Our analysis will account for the facts that (i) the distribution of bare subject NPs are more restricted than that of bare object NPs; (ii) bare subject NPs must be specific or topical; (iii) Acc-marked NPs in canonical position tend to be focalized.

  • In this paper, we explore nonlinear sufficient dimension reduction (SDR) methods, with a primary focus on establishing a foundational framework that integrates various nonlinear SDR methods. We illustrate the generalized sliced inverse regression (GSIR) and the generalized sliced average variance estimation (GSAVE) which are fitted by the framework. Further, we delve into nonlinear extensions of inverse moments through the kernel trick, specifically examining the kernel sliced inverse regression (KSIR) and kernel canonical correlation analysis (KCCA), and explore their relationships within the established framework. We also briefly explain the nonlinear SDR for functional data. In addition, we present practical aspects such as algorithmic implementations. This paper concludes with remarks on the dimensionality problem of the target function class.

  • Mesozooplankton distribution was investigated at eight stations of Saemangeum dyke from 2012 to 2014: five in the inner region and three in the outer region. 69 taxa were identified in the inner region while 73 ones in the outer region. Mesozooplankton densities ranged from 98.8 to 46,547.4 inds./m3 in the inner region and 249.0 to 5,387.3 inds./m3 in the outer region. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) of dominant species and environmental variables revealed a clear distinction between the inner and outer regions during most sampling periods, indicating that the environmental differences caused by the construction of the dyke significantly influenced the mesozooplankton community. In the inner region, chlorophyll-a was the most influential environmental factor, while in the outer region, it was salinity.

  • The purpose of this study was to explain relationship between community structure and their environment variables in Mt. Hwaak. Samples were collected by 101 plots using ZM phytosociological method and followed by cluster, importance value and canonical correspondence analysis. The forest vegetation classified into 8 community types such as Pinus densiflora community, Berberis amurensis community, Betula ermani community, Betula schmidtii community, Larix leptolepis community, Pinus koraiensis community, Cornus controversa community and Salix koreensis community. Altitude was considered as the highest factor correlated to the community types. Berberis amurensis community and Betula ermani community were located in upper slope area of high elevation, Comus controversa community and Salix koreensis community in valley area, and Pinus densiflora community in ridge area, respectively.

  • SSH(Sea Surface Height) from TOPEX/Poseidon and SST data are analyzed to estimate characteristics of annual and inter-annual variations in the East Asian seas(110E - l80E, 20N - 50N) from November 1992 to May 1998. In EOF analysis of SSH and SST, 57% and 97% of the variance are represented by the first two modes. The first mode of SSH and SST shows strong annual variations expected for steric changes. The second mode of SSH shows a long-term variation, but that of SST shows 3 - 4month offset from annual variation. In the EOF analysis of the SSH and SST, 61% and 54% of the total variance are represented by the first three modes. The first mode represented a long-term variation, and the third mode reflected the bi-ennial variation. The first three mode were not strongly correlated with ENSO. We further apply Canonical Correlation Analysis(CCA) to find the dominant correlation patterns with ENSO.
