  • This study is for understanding what is the significance and ethics of business in the Ukiyozoushi Seken Tedai Katagi written by Ezima Kiseki in Edo era. There were many merchants called Tedai in Seken Tedai Katagi, and they worked for their owners and the family(家). Tedai thought the business was not for themselves. Their attitudes seemed almost same as the loyalty of chivalry to the lord, so the merchants themselves thought business was not so different from the chivalry's conduct. Then the merchants thought business ethics were changeable, because the result of business was more important than the process of business. If the merchants earned the money by unethical conduct, the business could be eulogized by case, because the earning money was not for themselves but for the owner and the family ultimately. On the other hand, the business was also built up from trust, repute, etc. in Seken Tedai Katagi. So the business was not only the hylic conduct but also the mental conduct for the merchants, then the idea showed the business was not the social ills. In the Edo era, the chivalry and the Confucianists thought the business was social ills, so the merchants should build up the significance and ethics of business by themselves. Seken Tedai Katagi was the one of the cultural conduct to build up the significance and ethics of business of merchants', as we could see them in the stories.

  • This paper presents the core technology of Construction Business Process Automation to model and automate construction business processes. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Automation (BPA) have been recognized as one of the important aspects in construction business management. However, BPR requires a lot of efforts to identify, document, implement, execute, maintain, and keep track thousands of business processes to deliver a project. Moreover, existing BPA technologies used in existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems do not lend themselves to effective scalability for construction business process management. Application of Workflow and Object Technologies would be quite effective in implementing a scalable enterprise application for construction community. This paper present the technologies and methodologies for automating construction business processes by addressing how: 1) Automated construction management tasks are developed as software components, 2) The process modeling is facilitated by dragging-and dropping task components in a network, 3) Raising business requests and instantiating corresponding process instances are delivered, and 4) Business process instances are executed by using workflow technology based on real-time simulation engine. This paper presents how the construction business process automation is achieved by using equipment reservation and cancellation processes simplified intentionally.

  • Considering our increasingly interconnected organizations heavily relying on business processes and the growing need for timely accurate knowledge to achieve greater agility in the enterprise, the idea of looking at business processes as a knowledge object is gaining momentum. Business process information is knowledge and should consequently be managed as a valuable organizational asset, particularly because organizations need to react in near real time to environmental changes and events. This paper provides an overview of the situation in this field arguing for a better definition of the intersections between knowledge and business process management. When business process is seen as knowledge, it should be managed as such. We assess and discuss some of the resulting benefits and considering the need for greater dynamic integration between the two domains, we look at ontologies as an interesting technical approach to bridging this gap showing an example for an ontology based sales order process.

However, most business operations are subject to some sort of exceptions, and the exceptional situations require update of the existing business process model, or a new business process model has to be defined to handle the exceptions. This paper proposes a system architecture that deploys business process repository as the media for storage and retrieval of the various business process models developed for exception handling. Well defined situation variables and decision variables play the key role for efficient storage and retrieval of the business process models developed for exception handling. The data mining technique C5.0 was used to build the optimum path for the process repository search tree.

After commuters who drive to school or work can accumulate thousands of hours of driving, but that doesn't make them expert drivers. The key to deep practice is self-awareness. That is, paying attention to what you are doing well and not so well. This is so important to learn that scientists use a specific term for it: 'metacognition', or thinking about the way you think and learn. Conclusion - The use of business simulation learning, such as Capsim, which is a given case, can create similar local systems by potentially engaging a large number of users in the virtual market. It could also be used as an individual to complete business training for students and those who are active in the business field of business.
