Service Quality and Consumer Satisfaction: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • The purpose of this research paper is: (1) to describe the service quality index; (2) describe the data quality index; and (3) describe the anti-corruption index of BPS Trenggalek, Indonesia. The approach chosen is quantitative with the type of survey research. The primary data collection technique was mainly based on a questionnaire distributed to 40 respondents, namely BPS service users in 5 (five) categories: the private sector, the banking industry, academics, offices, or agencies in Trenggalek Regency and universities. The results showed that the quality of BPS services was good and the data quality index where the respondents were satisfied with the data presented by BPS. Meanwhile, testing the anti-corruption index shows that BPS Trenggalek is very anti-corruption in providing services to consumers. The findings of this study suggested that to improve service quality, it is necessary to pay attention to several aspects, including published service requirements, easy requirements to be fulfilled, published procedure information, clear service process flow, published service times, and costs/tariffs are communicated. This study suggests updating data, data relevance, data accessibility, and data completeness to improve data quality. Furthermore, to maintain the very anti-corruption predicate, this study suggests maintaining service by upholding the prevailing ethics and norms.

베이즈 추정방식의 품질우수성지수 적용 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bayes Estimation Application for Korean Standard-Quality Excellence Index(KS-QEI))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to apply the Bayesian estimation methodology for producing 'Korean Standard -Quality Excellence Index' model and prove the effectiveness of the new approach based on survey data by comparing the current index with the new index produced by Bayesian estimation method. Methods: The 'Korean Standard -Quality Excellence Index' was produced through the collected survey data by Bayesian estimation method and comparing the deviation with two results for confirming the effectiveness of suggested application. Results: The statistical analysis result shows that suggested estimator, that is, empirical Bayes estimator improves the effectiveness of the index with regard to reduce the error under specific loss function, which is suggested for checking the goodness of fit. Conclusion: Considering the Bayesian techniques such as empirical Bayes estimator for producing the quality excellence index reduces the error for estimating the parameter of interest and furthermore various Bayesian perspective approaches seems to be meaningful for producing the corresponding index.

기업경기실사지수 예측에 대한 탐색적 연구: 데이터 마이닝을 이용하여 (An Exploratory Study on the Prediction of Business Survey Index Using Data Mining)

  • In recent times, the global economy has been subject to increasing volatility, which has made it considerably more difficult to accurately predict economic indicators compared to previous periods. In response to this challenge, the present study conducts an exploratory investigation that aims to predict the Business Survey Index (BSI) by leveraging data mining techniques on both structured and unstructured data sources. For the structured data, we have collected information regarding foreign, domestic, and industrial conditions, while the unstructured data consists of content extracted from newspaper articles. By employing an extensive set of 44 distinct data mining techniques, our research strives to enhance the BSI prediction accuracy and provide valuable insights. The results of our analysis demonstrate that the highest predictive power was attained when using data exclusively from the t-1 period. Interestingly, this suggests that previous timeframes play a vital role in forecasting the BSI effectively. The findings of this study hold significant implications for economic decision-makers, as they will not only facilitate better-informed decisions but also serve as a robust foundation for predicting a wide range of other economic indicators. By improving the prediction of crucial economic metrics, this study ultimately aims to contribute to the overall efficacy of economic policy-making and decision processes.

KRX건설 주가지수와 기업경기실사지수 간의 선행-후행 관계 (The Lead-Lag Relationship between KRX Construction Index and Business Survey Index)

  • 본 연구에서는 'KRX건설 주가지수'와 '건설업 기업경기실사지수' 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 공표된 주가지수를 '추세요소'와 '잡음거래요소'로 분해하여 '주가지수 추세요소'와 '건설업BSI' 간의 관계, '주가지수 잡음거래요소'와 '건설업BSI' 간의 관계에 대해서 분석하였다는 측면에서 기존연구들과 차별을 두었다. Granger 인과관계 검정 결과에서는 '공표된 KRX건설', '추세요소', '잡음거래요소' 모두 '건설업BSI'에 대해 단방향의 Granger 인과관계가 존재함을 보였다. 즉, 추세요소는 건설업BSI를 선행하는 것으로 나타났으며, 주식시장의 일시적 심리적 요소, 과잉 반응 등에 의해 생성되는 '잡음거래요소'도 '건설업BSI'에 대해 선행관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과와 같이 건설업 주가지수의 움직임이 건설업 경영자들의 기대심리에 선행한다는 연구결과는 건설업 경영자들의 투자의욕에 주식시장의 움직임이 영향을 준다는 함의를 제시하고 있다.

  • 경기상황에 대한 기업과 소비자들의 인식을 효과적으로 파악하기 위해 기업경기실사지수 (BSI)와 소비자동향지수 (CSI)를 편제하고 있는 한국은행은 2012년부터 이 두 지수를 합성한 경제심리지수 (ESI)를 추가로 개발하여 발표하고 있다. ESI는 그 유용성을 인정받고 있으나 지수의 예측력 측면에서 개선의 여지가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 ESI에 대해 유용성 평가 작업을 실시하고 그 결과를 토대로 현행 ESI의 편제방식의 개선 또는 보완 방법을 모색하였다. 실증분석 결과 ESI 구성요소의 최적 가중치 탐색과정에서 슬라이딩 윈도우 방법을 이용한 동적 최적 가중치 탐색은 기존 ESI의 구성방식을 보완하거나 또는 경제상황을 고려하여 ESI 구성항목들의 가중치를 부여하고자 할 때 매우 유용한 방법이라고 판단할 수 있었다.

  • Purpose: To reinforce the product competitiveness of Korean small and medium-sized business in the world market. Methods: By clarifying the definition of a masterpiece, developing global masterpiece quality index(MQI) equipped with checklists, surveying several companies and customers, and analyzing the results of the survey via the MQ zone diagram. Results: The results of the survey show the gap between Korean small and medium-sized business and global masterpiece companies in terms of MQI. From this analysis, in order for the surveyed Korean companies to be the world-class ones, the managerial aspects to be improved could be clearly pointed out through the measurement indices. Conclusion: This research would provide Korean small and medium-sized companies, which wish to get on the global masterpiece level, with an objective guideline.

  • OECD countries including Korea positively adopt performance-based budget systems which convert an input-centered system to an output-centered system to solve two baffling problems: public expense retrenchment and efficiency recovery of government management. Output management of IT project propelled in public sector becomes a prominent figure influenced by these keynote of policy. However, it is placed in difficult circumstances to develop a performance index and the methodology to cover characteristics of IT project, measuring the goal achievement of business and the customer contentment according to the phases of business progress. Existing studies of IT project accomplishment measurement have been fulfilled on the subject of business targeting on IT technology application, administrative information network business and national base of information network construction. Most of the studies have been executed using BSC or AHP to reflect synthetically business specifics of IT project from a methodological point of view. In this study, we propose a structural equation model (SEM) to develop a performance index which measures the outcome of IT project according to the phases of business progress, avoiding a simple presentation of project outcome or conceptual frame. The proposed SEM is applied to the survey results of "IT support project for Small and medium business". Based on the fitted model, we apply ACSI concept to develop an Information Technologization Success Index (ITSI). This index allows us comparison of several IT vendors as well as feedback information for further improvement.

국방 공급망 품질경영 수준 측정을 위한 모형 개발 연구 (Research on Developing a Model for Defense Supply Chain Quality Management)

  • Purpose: This paper treats a defense-supply chain quality management model for analyzing the Korea defense industry. Methods: Various literature, the quality collaboration index for supply chain management model proposed by Korean Standards Association and shared growth index presented by Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership are reviewed to develop the defense supply chain quality management index and model based on the method presented by Hafeez et al.(2006). In addition, based on the proposed model, we survey the supply chain quality management efficiency including focused group interviews in the defense industry. Results: We propose a defense-supply chain quality management index and model for analyzing the quality level between the parent companies and its partners. In addition, the results of applying the model are proposed to improve the quality of military items. Conclusion: A model is developed for improving the quality of military items. This proposed model will be adopted to enhance the quality of military items.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest the modified 'Korean Standard-Quality Excellence Index' model and analyze the improvement effect with survey data by comparing the properness between current and suggested model result. Methods: The collected data through the survey were analyzed using paired t-test and unbalanced ANOVA method for testing the consistency of two customer satisfaction evaluating categories and comparing the current model to suggested model for confirming the improvement of performance. Results: The statistical analysis result shows that adjusted model using prior information improves the consistency between two customer satisfaction in case of short life-cycle product. Also long life-cycle product case, the result shows difference gap decreasing with same direction. Conclusion: Considering statistical model for QEI reflecting the characteristic of product group such as life cycle seems to be meaningful. Since index may be compared yearly base for checking the trend, careful approaching without big change should be considered for application.

여대생(女大生)들의 지수치(指數値)에 의한 체형(體型) 집단(集團)별 실제체형(實際體型)과 신체인식(身體認識)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Study of Real Somatotype and Perceived Body Classified by Body Index of College Women)

  • The purpose of this research is to study the recognition of real somatotype and body of college women. The study was carried out by classifying somatotypes into three categories based on the body index; slim, normal, and obese somatotype. The subject of this study was 106 college women, and real measurement and survey were used. Data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0 and cross tabulation analysis, t-test, Anova, and correlation analysis were operated. The result is as follows. 1. The height of the subjects was 163.5cm, weight was 53.3kg, Rohrer index was 1.2, BMI was 19.9, Vervaeck index was 84.4 and the classification based on the body index belonged to the normal group. 2. The characteristics of groups divided by the body index are that slimmer groups is longer in length factor and smaller in the factors related with volume than other groups. The characteristics of groups classified by self-consciousness shows significant difference in all girth factors, back intersyce breadth, front intersyce breadth, neck to nipple length, and nipple to nipple breadth. 3. Conscious about the somatotype with using body index generally shows similarity. In the length factor including height, slim somatotype group is perceived as longer than normal somatotype group, and in the girth factor including weight, normal somatotype group is recognized as bigger and thicker than others.
