  • The purpose of the present study was to document the standardization and management process of interface terminology regarding the chief complaints, diagnoses, and procedures, including surgery in a four-hospital consortium. The process was proposed, discussed, modified, and finalized in 2016 by the Terminology Standardization Committee (TSC), consisting of personnel from four hospitals. A request regarding interface terminology was classified into one of four categories: 1) registration of a new term, 2) revision, 3) deleting an old term and registering a new term, and 4) deletion. A request was processed in the following order: 1) collecting testimonies from related departments and 2) voting by the TSC. At least five out of the seven possible members of the voting pool need to approve of it. Mapping to the reference terminology was performed by three independent medical information managers. All processes were performed online, and the voting and mapping results were collected automatically. This process made the decision-making process clear and fast. In addition, this made users receptive to the decision of the TSC. In the 16 months after the process was adopted, there were 126 new terms registered, 131 revisions, 40 deletions of an old term and the registration of a new term, and 1235 deletions.

  • Background: Breast cancer accounted for almost 25% of all cancers in women globally in 2012. Although breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in India, there is no organised national breast cancer screening programme. Local studies on the burden of breast cancer are essential to develop effective context-specific strategies for an early detection breast cancer programme, considering the cultural and ethnic heterogeneity in India. This study examined the knowledge, attitudes, and practices about breast cancer in rural women in Central India. Materials and Methods: This community-based cross sectional study was conducted in Wardha district, located in Maharashtra state in Central India in 2013. The sample included 1000 women (609 rural, 391 urban) aged 13-50 years, selected as representative from each of the eight development blocks in the district, using stratified cluster sampling. Trained social workers interviewed women and collected demographic and socio-economic data. The instrument also assessed respondents' knowledge about breast cancer and its symptoms, risks, methods of screening, diagnosis and treatment, as well as their attitudes towards breast cancer and selfreported practices of breast cancer screening. Chi-square and t-test were applied to assess differences in the levels of knowledge, attitude, and practice (the outcome variables) between urban and rural respondents. Multivariable linear regression was conducted to analyse the relationship between socio-demographic factors and the outcome variables. Results: While about two-thirds of rural and urban women were aware of breast cancer, less than 7% in rural and urban areas had heard about breast self-examination. Knowledge about breast cancer, its symptoms, risk factors, diagnostic modalities, and treatment was similarly poor in both rural and urban women. Urban women demonstrated more positive attitudes towards breast cancer screening practices than their rural counterparts. Better knowledge of breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment correlated significantly with older age, higher levels of education, and being office workers or in business. Conclusions: Women in rural Central India have poor knowledge about breast cancer, its symptoms and risk factors. Breast self-examination is hardly practiced, though the willingness to learn is high. Positive attitudes towards screening provide an opportunity to promote breast self-examination.

  • With much changes in men's appearance style to pursue, beauty care activities, and pursuing value, it has been required to have researches on it. This study analyzed men's acceptance of information about beauty care and also the characteristics of each pursuing value. An online survey was conducted targeting about 500 male office workers in Seoul. In the results of the study, the pursuit of the practical value of five beauty care activities was the highest while the aesthetic value was very differently shown in accordance with the types of beauty care activities, compared to two other values. Contrary to other styles, especially, the acceptance of the skin care style was influenced by the sociocultural value, practical value, and aesthetic value. Especially, the passivity of the aesthetic value and the emphasis on the practical and sociocultural values were shown. The hair care was influenced by the practical value while the plastic surgery was influenced by the aesthetic value. In the care style area, the acceptance of skin care was only influenced by the pursuit of complex values. Regarding the marketing of each care style, the large-scale marketing campaign would be effective for the hair care while it would be necessary to seek for more aesthetic campaigns for the plastic surgery business.

  • This study aims to assess the slope stability variation of Jeonbuk drainage areas by RCM model outputs based on A1B climate change scenario and infinite slope stability model based on the previous research by Choi et al.(2013). For a large-scale slope stability analysis, we developed a GIS-based database regarding topographic, geologic and forestry parameters and also calculated daily maximum rainfall for the study period(1971~2100). Then, we assess slope stability variation of the 20 sub-catchments of Jeonbuk under the climate change scenario. The results show that the areal-average value of safety factor was estimated at 1.36(moderately stable) in spite of annual rainfall increase in the future. In addition, 7 sub-catchments became worse and 5 sub-catchments became better than the present period(1971~2000) in terms of safety factor in the future.

  • Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (80:20) was synthesized from DL-lactide and glycolide, and the copolymers was made to micelles containing clonazepam for drug delivery system. The release experiments of the drug from micelles were operated at pH 7.4 phosphate buffer solution $37.0{\pm}0.05^{\circ}C$. The linearly-releasing time ranges of the drug from micelles prepared with the copolymer/drug weight ratio of 20:40, 20:20, and 40:20 (mg) were 50, 41, and 29 days, respectively. So the linearly-releasing time of drug showed the order of micelles 20/40 > micelles 20/20 > micelles 40/20. In short, the formulation allows polymeric micelles to suppress the burst effect of the drug release mechanism, which led to the controlled release pattern and the possibility of drug delivery system for veinous injection.

  • This study raised the necessity of developing performance indicators for measuring the management efficiency and effectiveness of school food service, and as a means of helping its implementation, a balanced score card (BSC) approach developed by Norton and Kaplan was adopted. This study established BSC in seven phases through literature: Phase 1 Defining a school food service and the scope of working activities, Phase 2 Establishing the vision of a school food service, Phase 3 Setting strategic goals, Phase 4 Identifying critical success factors (CSFs), Phase 5 Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Phase 6 Extracting cause and effect relationship, and Phase 7 Completing a preliminary BSC. The preliminary BSC was fumed into a survey, which was administered to food service related people working at the Office of Education and School Food Service including 16 offices,209 dietitians, 48 school administrators both from self-operated and contract-managed, and 9 experts in areas related to school food service. They were asked questions about strategies from 4 different perspectives,12 CSFs, 39 KPls, and the cause and effect relationships among them. As a result, among the CSFs based on 4 different perspectives, all factors other than ' zero sum on profit/loss ' from the financial perspective turned out to be valid. In terms of KPIs, manufacturing cost percentages, casualty loss count/reduction rates, school foodervice participation rates, and sales goal achievement rates were found to be valid from the financial perspective, while student satisfaction index, faculty satisfaction index, leftover ratio, nutrition educational performance count, index of evaluating nutrition education, customer claim count/reduction rate, handling customer claim count/reduction rate, and parent satisfaction index were found to be valid from the customers' perspective. Besides, nutritional requirement sufficient ratio, nutritional management score, food poisoning outbreak count, employee safety accident count, sanitary inspection assessment index, meals per labor hour (productivity index), computerization ratio, operational management index, and purchase management assessment index were also found to be valid from the perspective of internal business processes. From the perspective of innovation and learning, employee turnover ratio/rate of absenteeism, annual education and training count, employee satisfaction index, human resource management assessment index, annual menu-related customer feedback, food service information index for employees and parents/schools were also found to be valid. The significance of this study is to present indices for measuring overall performance of school lunch food service operations without putting any limitation on types of school food service management, and to help correctly assess the contribution of the current types of school food service management to schools and students. • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the snack intake and brushing behavior according to the oral health education experience in some schools in Busan, and to investigate whether the oral health education experience affects the snack intake and brushing behavior. Methods: This study surveyed the entire fourth grade of elementary school in two districts by participating in university-linked oral health education activities run under the jurisdiction of the education office business to examine changes in the behavior of elementary school students in their snack intake and toothbrush. The survey was conducted on oral health education in elementary schools, prior oral health education experience before and after the activity, whether or not the brushing classroom was operated, and contents related to eating snacks and brushing behaviors. Result: Among the general characteristics of some schools in Busan, 69.9% of students have experience in oral health education and 30.1% of people have no experience in oral health education. 20.0%, 16.3% were 'normal' and 63.7% were 'helpful'. The brushing behavior according to the oral health education was 44.9% in the number of brushings, 44.9% in the number of brushings, 45.7% in 2-3 minutes in the time of brushing, 41.2% in the brushing method by sweeping the brush up and down. In the daily brushing period, 'after breakfast' was the highest at 72.3%, and the parent's brushing instruction was 'to lead' at 65.1%. The amount of sugar in subjective snacks was the highest with 60.6% of sugar content, and the parents had the highest level of 52.2% for parents' snack intake. This result was more significant than the students without oral health education experience. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, the number and time of brushing, the method and timing of brushing according to the experience of oral health education. Students who had oral health education experience higher than those who did not have oral health education, but had a lower tendency to brush after lunch at school and before going to bed. For better oral health, the effect of oral health education will be better if the school has more systematic toothbrushing at lunch time and parental guidance at home.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest measures for improving training cooperation between industries and universities through employer engagement by analyzing the state of employer engagement in training. The current study investigated the state of employer engagement in training and factors that facilitate employer engagement in training. A survey was conducted with 230 human resource managers who worked for companies with more than 300 employees. The study results showed that employers perceived their engagement in training for their employees are consumers rather than strategic partners to plan educational service and make decisions in their communities. However, employers perceived that their engagement in training would be effective because their training engagement can result in positive direct and indirect business outcomes. Moreover, the implementation of training programs based on industry needs was revealed as a critical factor for promoting collaboration between industries and universities and leading to employer engagement. Based on the study results, several suggestions are presented for improving training cooperation between industries and universities through employer engagement.
