  • Electronic catalog is a kind of electronic document to exchange product and service data for B2B or B2C EC(electronic commerce). Up to date a lot of selution/service providers which develop EC systems such as shopping malls, have constructed electronic catalogs. However, they use different contents, formats, and exchange methods without a standardized concept and consistent definition of components. This causes problems that time and cost to develop catalogs are duplicated and data exchange across e-marketplaces is difficult. In order to resolve these problems, standardization works for electronic catalog are carried out inside and outside the country. In this paper, we introduce types of standards concerned with electronic catalog, trends of standardization activities, and domestic standardization activities by industry such as electronics, automobile, shipbuilding, heavy industry, steel, electricity, construction, distribution, biomedical, and textile.

This paper proposes an industrial disaster prediction model for safety management and also implements industrial safety management system(after this, is called as u-Safety system) based on the proposed model using ubiquitous computing technologies like USN(ubiquitous sensor networks) which are given much attention among recent information technologies. The implemented system is successfully operating in the shipbuilding division of 'H' companies.

In particular, international trade has been carried out with various ways under the digital revolution. In this regard, the companies are handling their business with the open network internet and doing their critical marketing activities which are very different from the existed trade customs. However, trade-related information database which is necessary to import and export activities is partly built, and there are many issues to be settled down. In other words, electronic trade opportunity website in the field of overseas marketing and customs clearance with EDI(electronic data interchange) are developed, but the database which companies can make use of their businesses is not fully supported. Therefore the structured database should be developed urgently from the stage of opening business to that of payment. This study closely analyzes the databases under the trade procedure, look into the problems of those database and suggest the solutions of trade information databases. Finally this study provides a sort of trade infrastructure for the development of international trade by internet through the building of trade information.

However, there exist few domestic researches on CI. With this background, a study of domestic companies was performed that examines how the enterprise characteristics, the interest on CI, and the informatization level affect the way/level and outcome of CI. Results showed that bigger enterprises have the higher interest on CI than smaller ones and enterprises having high interest perform CI activities systematically and variously including using the internet. Further, the results uncovered the enterprises performing CI actively use the information acquired from the activity effectively in their business. The results also revealed that there are no difference between the IT companies and the others and that the jnformatization level is irrelevant to the internet CI activity level.
