In the early 1980s, small and medium-sized multinational corporations related to home appliances industry from Hong Kong invested to the Dongguan area and set up a production factory. In the mid-1990s, as Taiwanese PC manufacturers invested, local industrial clusters have developed in Dongguan with core of the IT, PC components and electronic industries. The case of the IT industrial cluster in Dongguan is a typical example of the development of Chinese manufacturing industry after the reform of China. This paper focused on the coupling strategy case of Dongguan City industrial cluster in Guangdong province, and theoretically compared the endogenous growth factor analysis(NMID) of regional industrial development with the regional differentiation of industry based on external linkage with global production network(GPN).

  • The corridors to the north and south of the $Takl{\bar{a}}m{\bar{a}}k{\bar{a}}n$ (塔克拉瑪干 Ta-ke-la-ma-gan) Desert are the most important regions for cultural confluence on the Silk Road, where caravans made it to the Chinese capital or the Korean Peninsula by the northern road, through the city of Turfan, or the southern path of Khutan. Being an important part of the Silk Road in the course of history, this region was heavily influenced by the cultures of various nations and ethnic communities whose merchants utilized the road to advance their business. The region's language, writing system and literary structure were also affected, so much so that in the course of its tumultuous history, many words, phrases and terms belonging to neighboring cultures found their way into the region, leaving their mark on its linguistic structure. Of the cultural exchanges that took place between the peoples of the region, conspicuous traces can be seen in the architecture, music, literature, texts, and inscriptions. Located in the Turfan region, the minaret of Su Gong (蘇公 Su Gong ) is host to an inscription which bears many signs of such exchanges. As so far no independent research has been conducted to identify the cultural, literary and structural features conveyed in this inscription, the present paper is an attempt to study the inscription in terms of the script, language and syntax in order to unravel the effects of cultures prevalent on the Silk Road on this particular inscription. This study mainly aims to investigate the linguistic structure of the inscription and the impact of the Persian language on Silk Road culture. In fact, we approach the inscription as a symbol of cultural exchange on the Silk Road and will focus on the tradition of Persian inscription-making which affected the Turfan inscription.

  • Agricultural research and development (R&D) investment has contributed not only to agriculture but also to the overall economic growth of the country. The recent arrival of the fourth industrial revolution has raised the need for agricultural R&D as a preparation. Agriculture R&D is directly related to the fourth industrial revolution in the agricultural and livestock sectors that utilize big data, robots, artificial intelligence and cloud. Meanwhile, subsidies or grants are considered the most widely used means of policy. Therefore, in light of the current situation in which Chinese agriculture values R&D investment, this study attempted to analyze the dynamic relationship between variables by establishing a model of agricultural environment subsidy representing the role of government, agricultural technology progress representing existing agricultural R&D investment, agricultural income representing agricultural development and total agricultural output. The analysis results showed that each variable's reaction to the rise in China's agricultural R&D investment has a positive effect on agricultural development, in line with the theory that the investment in science and technology in the agricultural sector has a positive effect. In addition, the response of each variable to China's rising agricultural environment subsidy is shown to have a positive relationship, which can also be said to be in line with the theory that the government's market-friendly intervention is beneficial to economic development.

  • This case study explores the stock sale, the resulting governance structures, and the airport management and development in Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai International Airport at Pudong. It is imperative for Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) to change the management paradigm to survive in the changing environment and to become hubs in the relevant regions. And IIAC needs to search for the new ownership and governance structure to cope with the internal and external demands for innovation. In this study, along with the recent trends of the global airport industry, we suggest the implications for the IIAC's major decisions, especially, for the stock sale, the resulting governance structure, and the airport development and management. It is suggested that Korean government retain the majority control in the process of privatization to keep IIAC as a government-owned enterprise to provide the public goods to the citizen. Furthermore, to maximize the value of stock sale, IIAC needs to decide strategically the time and speed in the hybrid form of stock selling using trade sale and IPOs.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities are important tool in corporate management strategies. However, the way that companies conduct CSR activities might bring different effect on consumers. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of CSR fit (similarity between the firm's CSR activities and the firm's core products or technologies) on the consumers' evaluation on product performance. In addition to the main effects of CSR fit on perceived product performance, and we also examined how this effect changes when CSR information source and consumer expertise are involved as control variables. Study 1 of this research was conducted with US consumers and study 2 was with Chinese consumers. Experimental results show that consumers' perceive product performance is better when the fit between CSR activities and firm's core products or technologies is low than the fit is high. When CSR information sources are neutral sources, consumers perceive product performance to be better when the fit between the firm's CSR activities and the firm's core products or technologies is low than the fit is high. However when CSR information was delivered by company's source like nadvertisement, such difference disappears. This study also show that the higher the customer's expertise, the better the product performance was perceived for high-fit CSR activities. On the other hand, the lower the consumer's expertise, the better perceived product performance was perceived for low-fit CSR activities.
