면내압축하중을 받는 유공판의 좌굴 및 최종강도 평가에 관한 연구 (Estimation of Buckling and Ultimate Strength of a Perforated Plate under Thrust)

  • 선체구조 부재에는 이중저의 거더 및 늑판등에서 유공을 가진 판이 많이 사용되고 있고, 이는 중량 경감, 사람 및 화물의 이동, 배관 등의 목적으로, 보통은 강도상 큰 문제가 없는 부위에 위치하지만, 때로는 불가피하게 높은 응력이 작용하는 부위에 설치해야 한 경우도 있다. 이러한 판에 유공의 존재는 면내 하중에 의한 탄성좌굴강도 및 최종강도에 큰 영향을 주게 된다. 따라서, 유공판의 탄성좌굴강도 및 최종강도 평가는 선박의 초기 구조설계단계에서 구조부재 치수를 결정할 때 검토해야 할 중요한 설계기준 중의 한가지 이다. 그러므로, 유공판에 대한 합리적인 신뢰적인 탄성좌굴강도 및 최종강도 설계식이 필요시 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 종횡비와 유공의 치수비 그리고 세장비의 영향을 고려하여 탄소성대변형 유한요소법을 근간으로 한 해석코드인 ANSYS를 사용하여 수치계산을 수행하였다.

Experimental seismic behaviour of L-CFST column to H-beam connections

  • In this study, the seismic performance of the connections between L-shaped columns composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (L-CFST columns) and H-beams used in high-rise steel frame structures was investigated. Seven full-scale specimens were tested under quasi-static cyclic loading. The variables studied in the tests included the joint type, the axial compression ratio, the presence of concrete, the width-to-thickness ratio and the internal extension length of the side plates. The hysteretic response, strength degradation, stiffness degradation, ductility, plastic rotation capacity, energy dissipation capacity and the strain distribution were evaluated at different load cycles. The test results indicated that both the corner and exterior joint specimens failed due to local buckling and crack within the beam flange adjacent to the end of the side plates. However, the failure modes of the interior joint specimens primarily included local buckling and crack at the end plates and curved corners of the beam flange. A design method was proposed for the flexural capacity of the end plate connection in the interior joint. Good agreement was observed between the theoretical and test results of both the yield and ultimate flexural capacity of the end plate connection.

좌굴 및 비선형성을 고려한 중형 수평축 풍력터빈용 샌드위치 복합재 회전날개의 설계 개선에 관한 연구 (Stress Analysis of Composite Rotor Blade with Sandwich Structure for Medium Class HAWT)

  • 풍력에너지는 자연의 에너지를 이용하므로써 환경문제와 경제적 측면에서 다른 대체 에너지보다 훨씬 유리하여 세계 여러 나라에서 각광을 받고 있다. 경제적인 이유로 풍력발전을 위한 회전날개가 대형화 되고 있으며, 경량화를 위해 복합재 구조등의 첨단 항공기술이 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구에서는 500㎾급 중형 풍력 발전시스템을 개발함에 있어, 적합한 공력 성능을 갖는 경량화 복합재 회전날개의 개선 설계를 수행하였다. 회전날개의 경량화를 위해 기 설계된 쉘-스파 구조물을 쉘-스파-샌드위치 구조물로 설계를 수정하였고, 배선형 해석을 통해서 경량화에 따른 대변형 문제를 검토하였으며, 파괴응력보다 낮은 상태에서 발생되는 국부좌굴에 의한 구조물의 안전성을 검토하였다. 또한, 허브의 금속재 삽입부분의 전단핀에 의한 핀 홀 주위의 응력해석을 수행하여 충분히 안전함을 확인하였고, 수정 설계된 구조물이 운용구간내에서 공진이 발생하지 않음을 확인하였다.

  • 풍력 터빈회전날개의 설계시 구조적 형상을 결정하는 예비설계 단계에서 종전에는 여러 가지 다양한 경우의 설계를 수행하여 이중 적합한 경우를 채택하는 시행착오 방법은 많은 설계시간을 요하였으나, 본 연구에서는 이 같은 설계시의 비효율적 요소를 배제하고자 적층판 이론을 기초로 한 설계 프로그램을 이용하는 설계기법을 계발함으로서 설계절차를 개선하였다. 개선된 설계절차에 따라 국제표준 설계규격 IEC1400-1에서 규정한 각 경우의 하중해석과 응력, 변형율 및 변형한계를 설정한 후, 단순화한 복합재 회전날개 구조에 혼합법칙과 주 응력 설계기법을 이용하여 복합재 구조의 형상을 정하였다. 설계된 구조는 본 연구를 통해 개발된 적층판 이론을 기초로 한 프로그램을 이용하여 강도 및 좌굴에 대한 구조의 안정성을 확인하여 상세설계 과정시 소요되는 시간을 최소화하였다. 설계된 구조는 표피 등을 고려하여 수정 설계한 후 유한요소법을 이용하여 응력, 변형율, 변위, 고유 진동수, 좌굴안정성, 피로수명 등을 해석하여 국제 표준규격의 만족 여부를 확인하였다.

CSR-BC와 Harmonized CSR-BC의 선체 전단 응력에 대한 비교 고찰 (A study on hull girder shear strength in bulk carriers for CSR and Harmonized CSR)

  • Common Structural Rules (CSR) about bulk carriers and double-hull oil tankers of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) has been applied to ships contracted for construction since April 2006. By unifying each society's rules, the difference of opinion in the between shipyard and ship owners, classification was reduced, and CSR has been evaluated by rules the safety structure more enhanced. However, The CSR about the bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers, important design content standards, such as the local scantling calculation, static/dynamic load case and corrosion margin and etc., are different. Therefore in order to combine the CSR, the Harmonized CSR for bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers (H-CSR) was issued on 1, January, 2014, and will be apply to ships contracted for construction after 1st July 2015. It is necessary to verify the H-CSR to optimize the structural arrangement because effective date is not far off. In this study, we compared the impact by rule change for the hull girder shear strength of bulk carriers between CSR and H-CSR in respect of the yielding and buckling strength.

교차가새형 선행 안전난간을 적용한 시스템비계의 구조 성능 평가 (Structural Capacity Evaluation of System Scaffolding using X-Type Advanced Guardrail)

  • In domestic construction sites, when installing steel pipe scaffolding and system scaffolding, the guardrails are installed after the installation of the work platforms. This conventional guardrail system (CGS) is always exposed to the risk of falls because the safety railing is installed later. In order to prevent fall disasters during erecting and dismantling scaffolds, it is necessary to introduce the advanced guardrail system (AGS) which installs railings in advance of climbing onto a work platform. For the introduction of the AGS, the structural performance of the system scaffolding applying the CGS and the AGS was compared and evaluated. The structural analysis of the system scaffold (height: 31 m and width: 27.4 m) with AGS confirmed that structural safety was ensured because the maximum stress of each element of the system scaffolding satisfies the allowable stress of each element. As a result of performance comparison of CGS and AGS for each element, the combined stress ratio of vertical posts in AGS was 6.4% lower than that of CGS. In addition, in the case of ledger and transom, the combined stress ratios of AGS and CGS were almost the same. The compression test of the assembled system scaffolding (three-storied, 1 bay) showed that the AGS had better performance than the CGS by 9.7% (8.91 kN). The cross bracing exceeds the limit on slenderness ratio of codes for structural steel design. But the safety factor for the compressive load of the cross bracing was evaluated as meeting the design criteria by securing 3 or more. In actual experiments, it was confirmed that brace buckling did not occur even though the overall scaffold was buckled. Therefore, in the case of temporary structures, it was proposed to revise the standards for limiting on slenderness ratio of secondary or auxiliary elements to recommendations. This study can be used as basic data for the introduction of AGS for installing guardrails in advance at domestic construction sites.

박스형 강합성 교각의 내진 성능 평가를 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Seismic Behavior of Box Type Concrete-Filled Steel Piers)

  • The steel piers and the concrete-filled steel piers, in spite of reasonable strength, high ductility, small section, and fast construction, have not been considered as the alternatives to the RC piers even in the highly populated urban area where aseismic safety, limited space and fast construction are indispensably required. In this paper, a steel pier and 4 box type concrete-filled steel piers were tested with the quasi-static cyclic loading to estimate the ductility and the strength. Additional devices such as base rib, turn-buckle, and anchor bolted added at the to increase the ductility with minimum additional cost. The result showed that the concrete filled-in steel piers had higher energy absorbtion and strength than steel piers had, but also showed that slight overlooking in the design and fabrication could lead to the abrupt fracture just after small local buckling at the bottom.

선박해양구조물의 최종강도 해석용 프로그램 ALPS 적용사례 (ALPS Ultimate limit state assessment of ships and offshore structure)

  • It is now well recognized that the ultimate limit state approach is a much better basis for design and strength assessment of ships and offshore structures since it is difficult to determine the realistic margin of safety using the traditional allowable working stress approach on the basis of linear elastic method solutions together with buckling strengthchecks adjusted by a simple plasticity correction. This paper outlines ALPS theory for ultimate limit state assessment of ship structures. ALPS is a computer software which stands for nonlinear Analysis of Large Plated Structures. Application examples of ALPS program to ultimate limit state assessment of plates, stiffened panels and ship hull girders are presented. A benchmark study is made by a comparison with the ALPS solutions with other methods including class rule formulae, nonlinear finite element methods and experimental results. 크랙을 가진 유체유동 파이프의 안정성 해석 (Stability Analysis of Pipe Conveying Fluid with Crack)

  • In this paper, a dynamic behavior(natural frequency) of a cracked simply supported pipe conveying fluid is presented. In addition, an analysis of the flutter and buckling instability of a cracked pipe conveying fluid due to the coupled mode (modes combined) is presented. Based on the Euler-Bernouli beam theory, the equation of motion can be constructed by using the Lagrange's equation. The crack section is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged beam segments. The stiffness of the spring depends on the crack severity and the geometry of the cracked section. The crack is assumed to be in the first mode of fracture and to be always opened during the vibrations. This study will contribute to the safety test and stability estimation of structures of a cracked pipe conveying fluid.

Structural Design of Medium Scale Composite Wind Turbine Blade

  • In this study, the 750kW medium scale composite blade for the horizontal axis wind turbine system was designed and manufactured, and it was tested and evaluated by the specific structural test rig. In the test, it was found that local bucklings at the trailing edge of the blade and excessive deflections at the blade tip were happened. In order to solve these problems, the design of blade structure was modified. After improving the design, the abrupt change of deflection at the blade tip was reduced by smooth variation of the spar thickness and the local buckling was removed by extending the web length. The modified design was analyzed by the FEM, the safety and stability of the blade structure. And Fatigue life over 20 years was confirmed by using S-N linear damage method, Spera's method, etc.
