수중에서 발생된 기포들의 상화작용에 의한 방출주파수의 변화를 알아보기 위해 선배열 기포에 대해 이론적으로 연구하였다. 기포들의 결합진동에 의한 방출주파수는 가능한 가장 저주파수의 음파가 발생됨을 설명하였으며, 일부의 기포가 음원역할을 하는 실제적인 선배열 기포의 경우는 방출주파수가 기포의 총 개수보다는 음원기포의 개수와 기포간 거리에 좌우됨을 밝혔다. 이러한 이론결과는 참고문헌[6]의 실험결과에 비교적 잘 일치하였다. 이것은 기포간의 결합진동은 기포들의 초기 발생조건에 따라 이론적으로 다르게 다루어야 함을 의미한다.

Pneumomediastium in a newborn baby is a rare condition and is usually manifested by respiratory and circulatory distress syndrome. We recently have experienced a newborn baby of severe tension pneumomediastinum associated with bilateral pneumothorax. The patient in this report was a day old female and the mother of the baby a lot of difficulties during her delivery and the aid of vaccuum was necessary. This patient was received closed thoracotomy and followed by explothoracotomy and excision of tension multiple air bubbles. The post-op. course is not uneventful.

In this paper, image processing technologies was employed to monitor and visualize the conditions of the inside of furnace for glass. In order to capture the images of the furnace under the high temperature environment, specially designed camera system was used. From the experimental results we see that the developed software showed good information about the inside conditions such as a scum line and positions of bubbles.

We investigated the "tilting" of the Universe, i.e., a non-Doppler origin of the dipole moment of the cosmic background radiation (CBR). Superhorizon-sized isocurvature, rotational and true vacuum bubble perturbations are considered. We show that the more natural way of the "tilting" the Universe is via the true vacuum bubble perturbation. Nevertheless, due to the small filling fraction of the bubbles of viable extended inflationary models, we find that the probability of the real occurrence in the Universe is quite insignificant.

A numerical method for gas-liquid two-phase flow is applied to solve shock-bubble interaction problems. The present method employs a finite-difference Runge-Kutta method and Roe's flux difference splitting approximation with the MUSCL-TVD scheme. A homogeneous equilibrium cavitation model is used. By this method, a Riemann problem for shock tube was computed for validation. Then, shock-bubble interaction problems between cylindrical bubbles located in the liquid and incident liquid shock wave are computed.

This article is a brief study of some properties of Pupu Springs together with comparative comments on nearby rivers and resurgences. The information presented was collected by several people over the period from January 1970 until November 1971, and all analyses were made within a laboratory. “Waikoropupu” is a Maori name meaning “where water bubbles up through a throat.” However the name is more commonly simply 'Pupu Springs. Location is about 7km from Takaka; the outflow from the Springs flowing into the Takaka River at a point within 2km of the town. Grid reference for the Springs is: N.Z.M.S. The molecular cluster model for the homogeneous bubble nucleation was extended to predict the bubble nucleation events in elastomers, polymers and polymer solutions. For the bubble nucleation in elastomers and polymers, the strain energy overcome by a critical bubble was also considered. The calculation results for the number of bubbles nucleated are in good agreement with observed ones.

A simple general equilibrium model, where risk aversion and dividend process switching play a key role, shows that a stock price in a bubble-free economy can be observationally equivalent to that of the intrinsic bubble economy. Specifically, I seek a set of conditions under which the functional form of asset prices in the bubble-free economy is the same as that in the intrinsic bubble approach.

We summarize various aspects of the interaction of supernova remnants (SNRs) with the ambient medium. We discuss the evolution' of SNRs in environments sculpted by the progenitor star, and summarize the factors on which this evolution depends. As a specific example, we consider the evolution of the medium around a 35 M$\bigodot$ star, and the interaction of the shock wave with this medium when the star explodes as a SN. We also discuss the interaction of Type Ia SNe with the ambient medium, especially the formation and growth of hydrodynamic instabilities.
