Nowadays, many people have a lot of time on chair in their life. If the sitting posture is not correct, there is some trouble with the waist. And if the sitting posture goes on long time at a slant, it sometimes causes the hurts of waist or the deformded spinal column. A crouched posture is an obstacle to breath and it give rise to drowsiness because of the lack of oxygen. The sitting posture is a habit so that people can't feel it oneself and look over some kind of risks. The evaluation of the sitting posture is analyzed by measuring EMG of spinal both side of spinal-bones. In this paper, we can evaluate a right the sitting posture by analyzing the increase of the tention of muscle in one or the other side of muscles when the posture inclines one side and describes the usefulness of the signal of EMG to evaluate the influence of the sitting posture on waist.

An Athma is a hypersensitive reaction of bronchus on various stimulus. It has a cough and laboring breath caused by narrowing of inflammatory bronchus. In this study, the three asthma patients classified by Sasang constitutional medicine had a notable medical effects. So we report the healing process and results of these three patients in this study.

A seven-month-old Hanwoo steer was presented immediately after transport with respiratory symptoms including a nasal discharge, depression, and anorexia. Though repeated treatments, bronchopneumonia had not been improved and had persisted for 10 months. Then, obstructive breath sound was heard. A cyst adjacent to the epiglottis could be observed with respiratory endoscopy. Consequently, chronic bronchopneumonia induced laryngeal cyst formation, resulting in obstructive dyspnea. And respiratory endoscopy may be useful for differentiating the causes of dyspnea in bovine clinical practice.

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is the causative agent of chronic gastritis and the single most important factor in peptic ulcer disease, however, the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying H, pylori infection are not well understood. Futhermore, there is a strong association between H. pylori infection and gastric cancer. Various diagnostic methods for detecting H. pylori infection are available. These can be divided into invasive methods, requiring endoscopy, and non-invasive tests, mainly 13C-urea breath tests and serologic detection of antibodies. Rapid urease test is the most recommendable endoscopic test for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection, presently. CLO test kit is the represent of rapid urease test kits. The principles of CLO test kit is that hydrolysis of urea by urease Is detected by a dye indicators showing a color change. Our device is used same principle but we improved the reaction time is more faster and positive color change is more distinctive from the color of the negative specimen. So, this kit is more reliable because it response faster and accuracy.

We suggest CNT-based gas sensors for breath alcohol measurement. The sensors were composed of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) thin film on glass substrate with simple process, and the SWNTs thin film as sensing layer was formed by multiple spray-coating with SWNT composites which was well-dispersed, highly controlled and differently functionalized by various binders (TEOS, MTMS, and VTMS) added in ethanol solvent. In this work, three different SWNTs thin films were made to compare their electrical response properties for alcohol vapor. From fabricated sensors, conductance responses were measured and discussed. In the result, our alcohol gas sensors showed an effective selectivity even at room temperature.

In this paper, we have developed PPG pillow system for unconstrained respiration monitoring during sleep. The system employs a pillow containing a PPG sensor and a simple respiration extraction algorithm. The results showed that the extracted respiratory rhythm was found to have close relations with the reference signal. The system has an advantage of processing simplicity. A follow-up study should be performed to evaluate the system in terms of breath intake.

The acoustic analysis of diadochokinesis(DDK) has been used to evaluate dysarthria. However, there has not been an automatic method to evaluate dysarthria. The aim of this study was to introduce a new automated program to measure DDK tasks and to apply this to clinical patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease(IPD). Fourty-seven patients with IPD and a healthy control group of twenty participants were selected with every DDK task recorded three times. Twenty-five acoustic parameters in the program were developed. The relevant parameters were times of DDK, pitch related parameters, intensity parameters which were analyzed by 2-way ANOVA. Significant differences between the groups were found in the times of DDK, pitch related parameters, and intensity parameters. The findings indicated that the pitch of control group was more stable than that of the IPD. Even though the patients with IPD had a higher intensity value, this phenomenon was caused by the weakness of the IPD group who could not control their speech with a breath.

A one day old female infant was brought to the emergency room suffering from shortness of breath. An x-ray revealed the gastrointestinal tract in the right thoracic cavity. An emergency operation demonstrated eventration of the diaphragm, and a plication was performed. The baby was discharged without complication and has been followed up in the out patient clinic. Congenital diaphragmatic eventuation requiring emergency operation is rare.

In the study of psychosomatic disorders caused by Qi-experience, the results were as follows: 1. People are becoming more and more interested in qigong, but sometimes peple are suffer from side effects from Qi-experience. In oder to treat this side effects of qigong, it is important to control Qi unbalance. And this is associated with the mechanism of stress-reaction. 2. The causes of side-effects were tension of body and mind, concentration of head, enduring breath, and wrong qigong-method, etc. 3. The symptoms of side-effects were headache, flushing face, chest discomfort, neck stiffness, indigestion, etc. 4. The theraphy of side-effects is herb-medicine, acupuncture, moxibution, and more effective by application of psychotheraphy, relaxation-theraphy, music, aroma, taping.
