도로터널 화재시의 환기분석 (The Analysis of Ventilation of Road Tunnel in Fire)

  • Numerical experiments are done by a commercial code, PHOENICS to evaluate the backlayer phenomenon of smoke in case of the road tunnel fire. The independent and dependent variables are ventilation air velocity and the length of backlayer of smoke respectively. Hybrid scheme and ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model are adopted in the simulation process and mass residual is used as a convergence criterion. The experimental results say that the length of backlayer is reduced with the increase of ventilating air velocity and that there is a critical air velocity which prevents from the onset of backlayering phenomena. One finds that there is a fresh air region near the bottom of tunnel which could make the passenger escape safely from the polluted region by smoke. These phenomena come from the vertical stratification of the smoke air mixture in the tunnel.

Simulation of Tidal Fields around a Huge Floating Marina using a Multi-level Method

  • Floating marina has been interests as an alternative to the facilities for recreational boats because of its cost effectivenes and less environmental conflicts. For tile present research, a square floating marina with a length of 400m and draft of 5m was used. This marina can be extended to 800m by putting anotjer one together. Tidal field around tile marina was simulated using a multi-level finite difference method. Tidal motion was assumed sinusoidal in a closed rectangular bay. Velocities and residual current were investigated for two cases of single marina and two marinas installed in tile bay. It was found that the horizontal velocity fields from the water surface to the structure bottom around tile marina were affected. In the marina basin, magnitude of velocity was reduced considerably but overall quality of water circulation was preserved even after two marina were installed.

쉘앤튜브형 열교환기의 단일 쉘 내 고온공기 열유동 특성 해석 (Analysis on Characteristics of Thermal Flow of Hot Air in Single Shell of Shell and Tube-type Heat Exchanger)

  • The shell and tube-type heat exchangers have been frequently used in many industrial field because of its simple structure and wide operation conditions and so on. The purpose of this study is to investigate the flow characteristics in single shell of shell and tube-type heat exchanger according to velocity and temperature of hot air released from heat exchanger simulator through numerical analysis. As the results, the temperature was decreased in almost quadratic curve from top to bottom in single shell of the shell and tube-type heat exchanger. Further the changes of pressure and velocity in outlet according to change of inlet temperature were not observed. The cost for operating the shell and tube-type heat exchanger should be compared the supply cost of hot air with that of velocity in order to make a economic decision.

폭약의 기폭위치에 따른 지반진동 예측 (Prediction of Ground Vibration According to the Priming Location)

  • 도심지 부근에서 이루어지는 암반 굴착작업의 증가에 따라 민원제기가 급증하고 있다. 이로 인해 발파설계시 안정성을 가장 우선적으로 고려하며, 그중에서도 지반진동을 제어하기 위한 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 발파진동의 전파특성을 결정하는 여러 인자들 중 발파조건인 기폭방법과 폭약의 종류에 따른 지반진동의 전파 특성을 알아보았다. 지반진동은 폭속이 작은 폭약에서 더 크게 나타났지만 진폭의 감쇠가 커서 진동이 멀리 전파되지 않는 특징이 나타났다. 기폭위치별 회귀분석 결과 중간기폭이 평균적인 진동수준이 가장 크게 나타났지만 감쇠가 커서 진동이 멀리 전파되지 않았다. 역기폭은 중간기폭보다 진동 수준은 낮았으나 감쇠가 작아서 진동이 멀리 전파하는 특징이 나타났다.

  • 백-형상 필터의 투과율에 따른 필터 표면에서의 유동속도와 입자궤적을 수치해석 하였다. 필터의 투과율이 널리 사용되는 저급의 부직포 백필터의 투과율 이하의 조건에서는, 투과율에 따른 필터 표면에서의 유동속도와 입자궤적 분포의 변화가 아주 미미하였다. 필터의 바닥면 모서리와 출구 근처를 제외한 필터 표면에서 유선들과 반경 방향 유속들이 균일하게 분포하였다. 필터 표면으로의 입자궤적은 필터의 바닥면 모서리 근처에 더 조밀하게 분포하여 그 위치에 도달하는 입자의 수가 가장 많았고, 필터의 출구 쪽으로 향함에 따라 필터 표면에 위치하는 입자의 수는 점점 감소하는 추세를 보였다.

경기만 조류성 사퇴 표층 퇴적물의 입도 특성 및 이동 양상 (Textural Characteristics and Transport Mode of Surface Sediments of a Tidal Sand Ridge in Gyeonggi Bay, Korea)

  • 한국 근해 경기만에 발달한 조류 기원 사퇴에서 1987년 8-9월에 획득한 16개 표층 퇴적물 및 유속자료를 분석하여 퇴적물 조직 특성(Textural Characteristic) 및 이동 양상을 연구하였다. 연구 결과 표층 퇴적물의 조직 특성은 사퇴에서의 위치에 따라 다 양하게 나타났다. 즉 사퇴 정부의 퇴적물은 분급이 매우 양호하고 대청적인 왜도 및 leptokurtic 한 첨도를 보여주는 모래인 반면, 사퇴 기저부(trough)의 퇴적물은 분급 이 매우 불량하고 조립한 쪽으로 편향된 왜도 및 plaarykurtic 한 첨도를 보여주는 모 래인 것으로 나타났다.한편, U/SUB 100/ (해저면 상부 1 m 에서의 유속) 및 U/SUB */ (경계면 전단속도)의 평균값은 각각 41/4 cm/sec와 2.39 cm/sec으로 계산되었다. 연구 지역 사퇴에서의 퇴적물 및 유속 자료를 이용하여 모래 이동 양상을 분석한 결과, 대 부분의 모래가 밑짐 (주로 saltation)으로 운반되는 것으로 판명되었다.

낙동강 하구호에서의 인의 침강특성 (Settling Characteristics of Phosphorus in Nakdong Estuary Barrage)

  • 낙동강 하구호의 부영양화와 관련된 인의 순환과정을 구명하기 위해 낙동강 하구호에서 인의 침강과정에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. sediment trap에 포집된 침강성 물질의 침강 플럭스는 중층 및 저층에서 각각 $296g/m^2/d$, $955g/m^2/d$, 침강속도는 1.25m/hr, 3.31m/hr이었고, 인의 침강 플럭스는 중, 저층에서 각각 $0.64g/m^2/d$, $1.97g/m^2/d$, 침강속도는 0.85m/hr, 1.89m/hr이었다. 침강성 물질에 존재하는 POP의 총린에 대한 존재비율은 중층에서 $51.9\%$, 저층에서는 $48.3\%$로 나타났다. 이상의 결과에서 부영양화 모델을 낙동강 하구호에서 적용할 경우 기존의 인의 침강속도 가정치에 대한 보정이 반드시 행해져야 함을 알 수 있다.

후향단유동내 경계층의 재발달에 미치는 경계조건의 영향 (Effects of Boundary Conditions on Redevelopment of the Boundary Layer in a Backward-Facing Step Flow)

  • This paper presents how redevelopment of the boundary layer in a backward-facing step flow is affected by boundary conditions imposed on velocity at the inlet, top and exit of the flow. A two-dimensional, laminar, incompressible flow over a backward-facing step with an open top boundary has been computed by using numerical methods of second-order time and spatial accuracy and a fractional-step method that guarantees a divergence-free velocity field at all time. The inlet velocity profile above the step is of Blasius type. Along the top boundary, shear-tree and Dirichlet conditions on the streamwise velocity were considered and at the exit fully-developed and convective boundary conditions were examined. (The vertical velocity at all boundaries were assumed to be zero explicitly or implicitly.) From the computed flow fields, the reattachment on the bottom side of shear layer separated from the tip of the step and succeeding redevelopment of the boundary layer were investigated.

Characteristics of tidal turbulence near the bottom at a coastal trench in Tongyoung, Korea

  • Tidal turbulence was examined using three-dimensional tidal velocity data observed at a trench offshore of Tongyoung, Korea. The kinetic energy and intensity, including the variation period of the flow velocity and direction, were used to investigate the relationships between tidal turbulence and fishing gear dynamics, including the effects of swimming fish during fishing operations. As the resultant velocity increased from 0.2 to 0.9 m/s, the kinetic energy also significantly increased, while the turbulence intensity decreased from 50 to 10%. Tidal flow in strong flow fields displayed shorter periods of between 4 and 10 s, as determined by fast Fourier transform, the global wavelet method, and peak event analysis, and the periods were compared with the period of response to swimming fish and to oscillation of fishing gear. As mean velocity increased, velocity amplitude also increased from 0.1 to 0.6 m/s, and its directional amplitude changed markedly from 20 and $90^{\circ}$. Our study suggests that tidal turbulence can influence fish behavior or fishing gear geometry during fishing operations, although our analysis considered only a limited area. In future work, observations should be carried out over a more extensive depth and area.

횡단유동이 액체 미립화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Cross-flow on Liquid Atomization)

  • The breakup processes and spray plume characteristics of liquid jets injected in subsonic air cross-flows were experimentally studied. The behaviors of column, penetration, breakup of plain liquid jet and droplet sizes, velocities have been studied in non-swirling cross-flow of air. Nozzle has a 1.0 mm diameter and Lid ratio=5. Experimental results indicate that the breakup point is delayed by increasing air momentum, the penetration decreases by increasing Weber number and the split angle is increased by increasing air velocity or decreasing injection velocity. SMD increases according as increasing height or decreases in accordance with increasing air velocity. This phenomenon is related to the momentum exchange between column waves and cross-flow stream. Droplet vector velocities were varied from 11.5 to 33 m/s. A higher-velocity region can be identified in down edge region at Z/d=40, 70 and 100. Lower-velocity region were observed on bottom position of the spray plume.
