  • In this paper, the electrolyte flow treatment is suggested using together with needle and magnet. On account of Lorentz force law, we can not only induce the circulation of body fluids at specific hurt but also apply on the treatment of cell membrane voltage control controlling the electrolyte flow. If electric field is added to human body fluid, electrolyte and then magnetic field is taken by magnet, we can induce local region flow through needle, global region flow with artificial electrical field and magnetic field. Electrolyte flow is excellent treatment in clinical treatment.

  • A hybrid SOI bipolar-mode field effect transistor (BMFET) is proposed to improve the current gain. The device characteristics are analyzed and verified numerically for BMFET mode, DMOS mode, and hybrid mode by MEDICI simulation. The proposed SOI BMFET exhibits 30 times larger current gain in hybrid-mode operation by connecting DMOS gate to the p+ gate of BMFET structure as compared with the conventional structure without sacrifice of breakdown voltage and leakage current characteristics. This is due to the DMOS-gate-induced hybrid effect that lowers the barrier of p-body and reduces the charge in p-body.

  • Light weight of vehicles by composite materials makes possible high speed, energy saving, and low repair cost. As Bimodal Tram and Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) use carbon composite material for their bodies, safety for passengers and electrical devices against unexpected failures has been issued more than ever. Lightning strike which generates high voltages and large currents is the worst case for the safety of passengers and devices. With this background, we experimentally investigated the insulation breakdown phenomena on carbon composite materials by the application of lightning surge voltage and current. From the experimental results, we could estimate whether the composite body is safe or not for the inside passengers and devices against lightning strikes.

  • A 40 fJ/c-s, 1 V, 10-bit SAR ADC is presented for energy constrained wearable body sensor network application. The proposed 10-bit dual sampling capacitive DAC topology reduces switching energy by 62% compared with 10-bit conventional SAR ADC. Also, it is more robust to capacitor mismatch than the conventional architecture due to its cancelling effect of each capacitive DAC. The proposed SAR ADC is fabricated in 0.18 ${\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS technology and occupies 1.17 $mm^2$ including pads. It dissipates only 1.1 ${\mu}W$ with 1 V supply voltage while operating at 100 kS/s.

  • A person's body resistance in the waterpark, public bath and similar places is lower than any other places due to effect of water. So low voltage may create a shock hazard for the human body in case of leakage or fault currents from lighting unit etc. We researched the related regulations these are internal standards, NEC, IEC and investigated the actual conditions for the prevention of electrical shock due to lighting units in the waterpark, public bath and similar places. So we could present actual facilities's problems and solutions

  • In this paper, we propose a high-speed, low-power complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) binary image sensor featuring a gate/body-tied (GBT) p-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (PMOSFET)-type photodetector based on a double-tail comparator. The GBT photodetector forms a structure in which the floating gate (n+ polysilicon) and body of the PMOSFET are tied, and amplifies the photocurrent generated by incident light. The double-tail comparator compares the output signal of a pixel against a reference voltage and returns a binary signal, and it exhibits improved power consumption and processing speed compared with those of a conventional two-stage comparator. The proposed sensor has the advantages of a high signal processing speed and low power consumption. The proposed CMOS binary image sensor was designed and fabricated using a standard 0.18 ㎛ CMOS process.

  • This paper presents a recoil and counter recoil(R&CR) motion measurement method using linear variable differential transformers(LVDT). The output of a LVDT is obtained from the differential voltage of the 2nd transformers. As a sensor core is attached at the motion body, the output is directly proportional to the core motion. Displacement, velocity and acceleration are measure from the core length. With a comparison between the measurement result and the known value which is obtained by the precision steel tape, the accuracy and the usefulness of the proposed scheme is validated.

  • In this paper, the effects of back-gate bias on n-channel SOI MOSFETs has been systematically investigated. Back-gate surface is accumulated when negative bias is applied. It is found that the driving current ability of SOI MOSFETs is reduced because the threshold voltage and subthreshold slope are increased and transconductance is decreased due to the hole accumulation in Si body.

  • In this study, novel structured thin ultrasonic rotary motor has been proposed. Ultrasonic motors are based on an elliptical motion on the surface of elastic body. ATILA ver. 5.2.4 was used for optimizing stator. The motor was fabricated by using designed stator. And characteristics of the motor were compared with simulated results. When the motor was fabricated with these results, 860[rpm] speed was obtain by input voltage of 16[Vrms] at 92.5[kHz].
