  • A study using compare and analyze about differences among three basic pants patterns(shape and size of pattern, fitting and amount of air gap and so on) through 3D simulation. This study use 3D simulation program, DC Suite version 3.0. The results are as a follows: The results of comparison about total pants pattern shape, the ESMOD have two tucks of front and one dart of back and the Secoli and On&on have each dart of front and back. The results of estimation about total appearance, the On&on is the best of all pattern about total silhouette of front and back side and the ESMOD is the worst of all. In a case of the ESMOD, the thigh part has so many spaces between body and pants so it is rated low. When we examine about space between body and pants, amount of air gap of ESMOD is 0.6 at waist circumference and next is On&on(0.07). In case of hip circumference, the Secoli is 0.08 and the ESMOD is 0.14. The ESMOD's amount of air gap is 0.32 at thigh circumference and 0.62 at knee circumference. The Secoli's amount air gap is 0.26 at thigh circumference and 0.59 at knee circumference.

  • The gap-based SERVQUAL model is a popular service quality determinant due to its superior diagnostic capacity over alternative explanatory frameworks. However, some researchers criticize the performance of the SERVQUAL model and propose alternative service Quality measurement constructs. Nevertheless, it is argued that the superior diagnostic capacity of SERVQUAL is its key strength; and that any criticism made of it when making comparison with alternative models does not reflect the differing nature of scales of statistical analysis. Arguably, the only limitation of a gap-based model is misinterpretation of customers' evaluation and perception of a service. In this research, the gap score is transformed into a ratio score. Also, empirical tests and implications are presented to support this alternative contribution to the body of knowledge.

  • Compressor efficiency must be improved to reduce refrigerator power consumption. In this study, the heat dissipation rate through the compressor housing is increased via gap flow passages between the compressor body and housing. Four types of gap flow passages are considered for achieving the maximum heat-dissipation rate. In addition, thermal analysis is performed to examine the effect of increased heat dissipation rate on the energy efficiency ratio (EER). The results show that the heat dissipation rate, compressor superheat, and compressor EER increased by up to approximately 52%, 3 ℃, and approximately 1%, respectively.

  • The motions and drift forces of side-by-side moored FSRU and LNGC including the sloshing effect, were studied using experiments. The FSRU and LNGC contained LNG cargo tanks and the LNG sloshing could affect the motions and drift forces of the structures due to its coupling with floating body motion. The effect of coupling can vary with the LNG filling level, and the effect of the filling level was investigated. The coupling effect was stronger at lower filling level. It was confirmed that longitudinal sloshing influenced the surge and surge mean drift force in head sea. In addition, gap flow affected the sway and mean drift forces. Sloshing attenuated the sway and yaw excited by gap flow in side-by-side configuration.

  • This paper investigates the tolerance stack-up in a commercial sliding-type mobile phone model developed by a Korean electronics company, with focus on the dimensional quality of the gap between the sliding top and the main body. The tolerance analysis in this study is done using a commercial software package, which runs Monte Carlo simulations to produce the statistical distributions of the gap size at desired locations. Such an analysis revealed that the original design did not yield the desired dimensional quality of the gap. Through a series of systematic analyses and syntheses, an improved design is proposed for the nominal dimensions and tolerances of selected features of the parts. The proposed design was validated, through tolerance analysis simulation, to meet the desired requirement of the gap quality.

  • The shrouded corotating disk flow has a simple figure on geometric basis, but has various and complicated forms of flow. this complicated flows can be variously applied to not only information storage device, but also turbomachinery which is greatly influenced by centrifugal force. This study measured its velocity to measure inner flow field with unique flow field univluenced, using LDV and subminiature hot-wire. The result of experiment shows that distribution limits of solid body rotation region, dimensionless velocity gradient and distribution limits of disk surface boundary layer(Ekman layer) are changed by the gap of disks and rotating speed. Circulating vortex which is near the shroud is effected by the gap of disks and rotating speed.

  • Problems related with flows around structures are typical in various engineering fields. The characteristics of these flow structures depend strongly on the shape of the body. The flow regime around square cylinders which are also employed in various applications has also been investigated. In addition to a single body, flows past closely spaced structures arranged in tandem are observed in numerous practical applications. In this study, the flow characteristics around the circular and the square cylinder were investigated according to S/D. The velocity fields and Reynolds stress of the single cylinders were acquired to explain the flow behaviors between tandem cylinders. The differences observed in the flow behaviors of square and circular cylinders were studied. The flow patterns around two tandem cylinders can be classified into three types of wake interference behaviors according to S/D. This is related with the flows between cylinders.

  • Laser welding is high power density welding method which is higher speed and productivity, lower thermal deformation, without material restrictions for car body welding. But, in case of zinc coated sheet metal welding, the gap is needed $0.1{\sim}0.2mm$ to avoid weld bead blowup. This paper describe that it used dimple and pressure roller tool to improve laser welding quality for 3-layer zinc coated sheet metal.

  • Typical automotive opening parts, i. e. hood trunk lid and door, are made through the press operations such as drawing, trimming, flanging, and hemming. The dimensional accuracy of stamped panels is mainly dependent on the drawing operation. However, the gap between outer panels and opening parts, which is important to the appearance quality of the assembled body, is directly influenced by the flanging and hemming operation. In this study, the relation between the design parameters of the hemming operation and the defect of roll-in is shown. The effects of some design parameters on the gap are examined using CAE. furthermore, the simulated results of the hemmed part of tailgate comer are shown and discussed.

  • This paper represents solenoid design of control valve for incline angle control in variable compressor. Some theoretical and numerical analysis were performed to analyse solenoid and compared with experimental results. Maxwell program was used for numerical analysis. Through redesigns of housing body, plunger, core, and disk in control valve, the needed force was gotten. Reduction of core groove and housing body air-gap had a large influence on magnetic force. But increasing of disk thickness had little effect on magnetic force. Control valve efficiency could be improved through solenoid redesign.
