  • Among various fields of the CNS/ATM, the surveillance field which includes ADS-B system, MLAT system, and WAM system is implemented. These next generation systems provide superior performance in tracking aircrafts. However, They still have error. In this paper, filtering algorithm is proposed in order to enhance aircraft tracking performance of ADS-B, MLAT, and WAM systems. The proposed method is a Robust Interacting Multiple Model filter, called Robust IMM filter, that improves IMM filter. The Robust IMM filter can not only improves the aircraft tracking performance but also track aircraft continually using estimates calculated from the filter when data losses occur. The simulation results of the proposed aircraft tracking methods show that the filtering data provides a better performance up to an average of 19.21%.

  • Recently, threats of hacking have been increasing on the national intelligence service network and key infrastructure, including the defense field. The defense information system responds to threats from the outside through the network separation, but if the defense information system is hacked, it has a serious impact on the operations of wartime or peacetime military forces. Today, cyberattacks and threats are rising to unpredictable levels and making it practically impossible to completely block and prevent hacking threats completly. So, in this study proposed a maturity model to assess the level of cyber-resilience, which is the ability to ensure the system's viability and maintain continuity through rapid response and recovery if signs of cyberattacks by the defense information system are expected or occurred. The proposed maturity model is expected to contribute to improving the cyber security level of the defense information system by assessing the level of cyber resilience of the defense information system and identifying and supplementing fields that are lacking.

  • This paper proposes a single image dehazing that utilizes the transmission estimation with low complexity and the pixel-based JBDCP (Joint Bright and Dark Channel Prior) for the effective application of hazy outdoor images. The conventional transmission estimation includes the refinement process with high computational complexity and memory requirements. We propose the transmission estimation using combination of pixel- and block-based dark channel information and it significantly reduces the complexity while preserving the edge information accurately. Moreover, it is possible to estimate the transmission reflecting the image characteristics, by obtaining a different air-light for each pixel position of the image using the pixel-based JBDCP. Experimental results on various hazy images illustrate that the proposed method exhibits excellent dehazing performance with low complexity compared to the conventional methods; thus, it can be applied in various fields including real-time devices.

  • ICT technology has been applied to various educational fields, but applying to educational test field is limited. Computer-based test (CBT) can overcome temporal and spatial constraints of conventional paper-based test, but is vulnerable to fraud by test parties. In this paper, we propose real-time monitoring and process management methods to enhance the security of CBT. In the proposed methods, the test screens of students are periodically captured and transferred to the professor screen to enable real-time monitoring, and the possible processes used for cheating can be blocked before testing. In order to monitor the screen of many students in real time, effective compression of the captured original image is important. We applied three-step compression methods: initial image compression, resolution reduction, and re-compression. Through this, the original image of about 6MB was converted into the storage image of about 3.8KB. We use the process extraction and management functions of Windows API to block the processes that may be used for cheating. The CBT system of this paper with the new security enhancement methods shows the superiority through comparison of the security related functions with the existing CBT systems.

  • To evaluate the performance of a system, one-dimensional 3-neighborhood cellular automata(CA) based pseudo-random generators are widely used in many fields. Although two-dimensional CA and one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA have been applied for more effective key sequence generation, designing symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA corresponding to a given primitive polynomial is a very challenging problem. To solve this problem, studies on one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA synthesis, such as synthesis method using recurrence relation of characteristic polynomials and synthesis method using Krylov matrix, were conducted. However, there was still a problem with solving nonlinear equations. To solve this problem, a symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA synthesis method using a transition matrix of 90/150 CA and a block matrix has recently been proposed. In this paper, we detail the theoretical process of the proposed algorithm and use it to obtain symmetric one-dimensional 5-neighborhood CA corresponding to high-order primitive polynomials.

  • Recently, research using unstructured data such as images and videos has been actively conducted in various fields. Edge detection is one of the most useful image enhancement techniques to improve the quality of the image process. However, it is very difficult to perform edge detection in noise images because the edges and noise having high frequency components. This paper uses a linear model and standard deviation as an effective edge detection method for noise images. The edge is detected by the difference between the standard deviation of the pixels included in the pixel block and the standard deviation of the residual obtained by fitting the linear model. The results of edge detection are compared with the results of the Sobel edge detector. In the original image, the Sobel edge detection result and the proposed edge detection result are similar. Proposed method was confirmed that the edge with reduced noise was detected in the various levels of noise images.

  • AEA and ARIA are next generation standard block cipher of US and Korea, respectively, and these algorithms are used in various fields including smart cards, electronic passport, and etc. This paper addresses the first efficient unified hardware architecture of AES and ARIA, and shows the implementation results with 0.25um CMOS library. We designed shared S-boxes based on composite filed arithmetic for both algorithms, and also extracted common terms of the permutation matrices of both algorithms. With the $0.25-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology, our processor occupies 19,056 gate counts which is 32% decreased size from discrete implementations, and it uses 11 clock cycles and 16 cycles for AES and ARIA encryption, which shows 720 and 1,047 Mbps, respectively.

  • This study is experimentally investigated for characteristics of lightweight air-trapped soils with uniform quality. Previously, EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) blocks are often used as lightweight embankment, but many problems such as the level difference and cracks were caused by plastic (creep) deformation. So, a new material development is urgent. By means of alternatives, lightweight air-mixed soil using in-situ soils has been developed and applied to fields. In comparison with EPS block, lightweight air-mixed soil has less plastic (creep) deformation in long period, but the strength characteristics are different according to the soils where they are obtained. Therefore, the quality management of lightweight air-mixed soil is very difficult. Therefore in this study, characteristics of lightweight air-trapped soil using a manufactured sand with uniform quality are investigated. To found out the compression and tensile characteristics of lightweight air-tapped soils, unconfined compression test and splitting tensile test are conducted on the specimens prepared with different unit weight, cement-sand ratio and air-pore.

  • With the development of industry, fine dust is causing difficulties in various fields such as environment, health, and life, and a large amount of pollutants generated from human social activities are emerging as a serious environmental problem due to air pollution. Therefore, in this study, activated carbon was added to remove fine dust and volatile organic compounds by spinning cellulose acetate polymer fibers on a silicon support using the electrospinning method. By varying the activated carbon ratio and electrospinning time, the fine dust blocking effect and toluene adsorption performance were confirmed according to the activated carbon ratio and filter thickness. As a result, it was shown that the particles were effectively blocked with the increase in the electrospinning time due to the filter thickness increase. Adsorbed amount of toluene was increased with increase in activated carbon amount. Light transmittance was decrease with increase in electrospinning time, showing that there were light transmittance in filters electrospun for 20~30 minutes.

  • This paper presents a hysteretic damage model for reinforced concrete (RC) joints that explicitly accounts for the bond-slip between the reinforcing bars and the surrounding concrete. A frame element whose displacement fields for the concrete and the reinforcing bars are different to permit slip is developed. From the fiber section concept, compatibility equations for concrete, rebar, and bond are defined. Modification of the hysteretic stress-strain curve of steel is conducted for partial unloading and reloading conditions. Local bond stress-slip relations for monotonic loads are updated at each slip reversal according to the damage factor. The numerical applications of the reinforcing bar embedded in the confined concrete block, the RC column anchored in the foundation, and the RC beam-column subassemblage validate the model accuracy and show how including the effects of bond-slip leads to a good assessment of the amount of energy dissipation during loading histories.
