As an efficient method to detect blending of general gravitational microlensing events, it is proposed to measure the shift of source star image centroid caused by microlensing. The conventional method to detect blending by this method is measuring the difference between the positions of the source star image point spread function measured on the images taken before and during the event (the PSF centroid shift, ${\delta}{\theta}$c,PSF). In this paper, we investigate the difference between the centroid positions measured on the reference and the subtracted images obtained by using the difference image analysis method (DIA centroid shift, ${\delta}{\theta}$c.DIA), and evaluate its relative usefulness in detecting blending over the conventional method based on ${\delta}{\theta}$c,PSF measurements. From this investigation, we find that the DIA centroid shift of an event is always larger than the PSF centroid shift. We also find that while ${\delta}{\theta}$c,PSF becomes smaller as the event amplification decreases, ${\delta}{\theta}$c.DIA remains constant regardless of the amplification. In addition, while ${\delta}{\theta}$c,DIA linearly increases with the increasing value of the blended light fraction, ${\delta}{\theta}$c,PSF peaks at a certain value of the blended light fraction and then eventually decreases as the fraction further increases. Therefore, measurements of ${\delta}{\theta}$c,DIA instead of ${\delta}{\theta}$c,PSF will be an even more efficient method to detect the blending effect of especially of highly blended events, for which the uncertainties in the determined time scales are high, as well as of low amplification events, for which the current method is highly inefficient.

Cement bonded boards of 10 mm in thickness were produced from the mixture of Gmelina arborea sawdust and corn cob particles. The strength and dimensional stability of cement bonded composites produced from these two mixtures were examined. A total of thirty experimental boards were produced at density level of 1,000 kg/㎥ with cement to fibre ratio of 2.5:1 and 3:1 and five (5) blending proportions of G. arborea sawdust to corn cob particles of 100:0; 75:25; 50:50; 25:75 and 100:0. The effect of the cement to fibre ratio and blending proportion on the Water Absorption (WA), Thickness Swelling (TS), Modulus of Rupture (MOR), and Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) were determined. The result indicates that as the mixing ratio of cement to fibre and blending proportion of maize cob (75%) to G. arborea (25%) increased, the thickness swelling, water absorption decreased, whereas the MOR and MOE increased. It also shows that most dimensionally stable and flexural strength boards were produced at the highest level of mixing ratios (3:1) and blending proportion of G. arborea to corn cob 25:75. However, the analysis of variance shows that TS and WA were significantly different, whereas, MOE and MOR were not significantly affected by mixing ratios and blending proportions. Finding of this study has shown that maize cob particles are suitable for cement bonded board production.
This paper describes the effect of DME, biodiesel blended fuels on the macroscopic spray characteristics in a high pressure diesel injection system using Background Oriented Schlieren (BOS) method. The BOS method for visualization of impingement evaporation sprays to analyze macroscopic spray properties and evolutionary processes. In this work, the blending ratio of DME in the blended fuel are 0, 50, 100% by weight ratio. In order to investigate the macroscopic impinged spray characteristics under the various injection parameters and blending ratio. In this work, a mini-sac type single-hole nozzle injector with nozzle hole was length 0.7 mm and diameter of 0.3 mm was used. According to the result, the spray area of the collision wall increased as the DME mixing ratio increased, and the evolutionary pattern showed a stepwise increase due to the collision effect of the wall. Also, results of impinged spray area were increased according to increasing injection pressure.
The objective of this study was to investigate the viscosity of coating colors and ink-jet printing properties with different coating colors with various blending ratios of silica based pigments. The volume of pigments was measured to evaluate the effect of the pigments on the viscosity of coating colors. Contact angle, the change of ink diameter, optical density, and the area and perimeter of a printed let-ter were evaluated to examine the effect of the ink absorption on the ink-jet printing properties. Generally, as the amount of silica pigments Increased the ink-jet printing quality improved. But this caused an increase of the overall coating viscosity.
The effect of fuel injection characteristics on engine performance has been known for improving fuel economy and emission reduction. In this study, the spray characteristics of crude palm oil blended fuel with conventional diesel fuel was investigated. The experiments were performed to evaluate the effect of crude palm oil blending ratio and injection pressure on the spray behavior. The droplet size of injected fuel was analyzed through laser diffraction particle analyzer (LDPA). Also, spray atomization characteristics were investigated in terms of Sauter mean diameter (SMD) and droplet distribution at various injection conditions. Fuel containing crude palm oil has different spray pattern on account of the high viscosity. Through those experimental results, we found that the increase of blending ratio made droplet size larger, SMD of biodiesel 100% was increased 30.2% than that of diesel fuel 100% under injection pressure of 60 MPa.
In this study, the specimens of cement clinker minerals such as 80C3-S-15C4AF-5C3A added various blending materials were immersed in artificial seawater. In order to ascertain the effect of SO3 and blending materials on seawater resistance of the specimens, the acceleration experiment in the artificial seawater was carried out by repeating of immersion and drying operation periodically. As inner part of the specimen immersed in artificial seawater, Friedel's salt was produced by reaction with Cl ion. In outer part of the specimen, gypsum and ettringite were mainly formed. With the increase of SO3 content in the specimen the formation of ettringite was increased and Frieldel's salt in inner part was decreased. Total pore volume of the specimens was increased according to the amount of Cl ion penetrated and Mg(OH)2 leached in the solution.
The Re-mi-con sludge water has been investigated because of environmental pollution and disposal cost. So, sludge water is partially reused as mixing water. However, if sludge water is reused too much that would influence the quality of concrete. KS specification limits the amount of sludge content up to 3$\%$ of cement weight. In this study, the effect of re-mi-con sludge on the characteristics of concrete is compared to raise the reuse ratio of re-mi-con sludge. From the test results, as blending ratio of re-mi-con sludge increases, workability is decreases. However, the re-mi-con sludge water have a minor effect on the strength development, the drying shrinkage and the resistance of freeze and thawing. Also, the existing model codes of drying shrinkage do not coincide with the test results of this study.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of selecting commercially available blending teas and applying them to bovine teeth on color change over time. Methods: After selecting healthy bovine teeth, using a cutting-disc, 105 specimens with a dimension of 5×5×3 mm were prepared, and 15 specimens were distributed to each group. Black tea was used as a positive control, water was used as a negative control, and blended tea of five types was used as an experimental group. First, pH and buffering capacity were measured with a pH meter, and tooth color was determined using a spectrophotometer before immersion in the blending tea solution and 1, 5, 7, 14, and 21 days after immersion. Thereafter, the shape change of the enamel surface was observed using a scanning electron microscope, and SPSS ver.26 was used to analyze the color change. Results: The average pH of the five blending teas in the experimental group was 3.78, and the pH of group 3 (strawberry rhubarb) was the lowest at 3.22. The pH levels of black tea and water were 5.19 and 7.30, respectively. The buffering capacity was the highest in group 3 at both pH levels of 5.5 and 7.0. The L*a*b* color change according to immersion time was the largest in group 4 (rooibos yellow flower), and the amount of color change was large in black tea and group 4. As a result of observing the enamel surface of bovine teeth, changes in the surface shape were noted in all groups immersed in the experimental solution for 21 days, except for water. Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the experimental groups in terms of color change according to the immersion time, and color and enamel surface changes were observed in black tea and all experimental groups, except for water.
