In evaluation of blast-induced vibration, peak particle velocity (PPV) is generally calculated by using attenuation relation curve. Calculated velocity is compared with the value in legal requirements or the standards to determine the stability. Attenuation relation curve varies depending on frequency of test blasting, geological structure of the site and blasting condition, so it is difficult to predict accurately using such an equation. Since PPV is response value from the ground, direct evaluation of the structure is impractical. Because of such a limit, engineers tend to use the commercial numerical analysis program in evaluating the stability of the structure more accurately. However, when simulate the explosion process using existing numerical analysis program, it's never easy to accurately simulate the complex conditions (fracture, crushing, cracks and plastic deformation) around blasting hole. For simulating such a process, the range for modelling will be limited due to the maximum node count and it requires extended calculation time as well. Thus, this study is intended to simulate the elastic energy after fractured zone only, instead of simulating the complex conditions of the rock that results from the blast, and the analysis of response characteristics of the velocity depending on shape and size of the fractured zone was conducted. As a result, difference in velocity and attenuation character were calculated depending on fractured zone around the blast source appeared. Propagation of vibration tended to spread spherically as it is distanced farther from the blast source.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the applicability of Granulated Blast Furnace Slag to the development of the Powdered Ready-mixed Shotcrete. First of all, after accomplishing SEM analysis and Leaching Test, the laboratory and field experiments for evaluating the utility of Granulated Blast Furnace Slag were performed. As a result of SEM and Leaching test, the environmental stability was confirmed. That is, non-detection of harmful lists and dense shotcrete structure result from mixing Granulated Blast Furnace Slag. As a result of lab. and field test, Blast Furnace Slag is superior to Plain Batch in improving strength and durability. And it will be able to improve to some extent the problem caused by the delayed reaction of existing Granulated Blast Furnace Slag with alkali activated material. Also the proper amount of Granulated Blast Furnace Slag is estimated to be under 30%. Finally, it is possible that Granulated Blast Furnace Slag can apply to economical recycling and development of the Ready-mixed Shotcrete for its price is only about 5% of Silica-finne's price.

The numerical analysis was conducted to evaluate the behavior of slab-column connection subjected to blast loads using LS-DYNA. The typical form of slab-interior column connection for analysis was considered as a reference specimen and the drop panel slab-interior column was designed to verify the effects of drop panel. The slab-column connections, which were composed of interior, edge and corner column, were additionally analyzed to compare their confinement effects of specimens. Analysis results were contained the failure shape of connection, behavior of member and so on. From the results, the blast-resistant capacities of slab-column connection would be enhanced by reinforcing the drop panel. In addition, the performance of connections could be improved, when the confinement effects were enhanced.

Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) exhibits enhanced strength and superior energy dissipation capacity compared to normal concrete, and it can also reduce crack propagation and fragmentation of concrete even when subjected to blast loads. In this study, the parameters defining failure surface and damage function of the K&C concrete nonlinear model were proposed to be applied for the properties of SFRC in LS-DYNA. Single element analysis has been conducted to validate the proposed parameters in the K&C model, which provided very close simulations on the compressive behavior of SFRC. In addition, blast analysis was performed on SFRC columns with different volume fractions of steel fibers, and the blast resistance of SFRC columns was quantitatively analyzed with Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) guidelines.

In this paper, an Adaptive Modulation (AM) system with an efficient turbo-coded Vertical-Bell-lab Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) technique is proposed. The proposed decoding algorithm adopts iteratively the extrinsic information from a Maximum a Posteriori (MAP) decoder as a priori probability in the two decoding procedures of the V-BLAST scheme of ordering and slicing. In this analysis, each MIMO channel is assumed to be a part of the system of performance improvement.

Paper sludge ash was assured as material of a sort of pozzolan. For the reason of fluidity decrease caused by the strong absorption of paper stooge ash and the decrease of compressive strength in case of using over30% replacement by the weight of cement, paper sludge ash is not suitable for blending material. Therefore, it is necessary to find proper replacement ratios between paper sludge and blast furnace slag to insure compressive compensation and appropriate slump. Accordingly, as varied the blending ratios of paper sludge and blast furnace slag, testing mortar was made. This study was aimed to investigate the possibility of using blending replacement of paper sludge ash and blast furnace slag throughout compressive test, flow test, SEM(Scanning Eletron Microscope), MIP(Mercury Intrusion Porosity test), and TG-DTA(Thermal analysis).
Self-blast circuit breakers utilize the energy dissipated by the arc itself to create the required conditions for arc quenching during the current zero. During the arcing period, high pressure, temperature and radiation of the arc could burn in pure SF6 gas and PTFE nozzle. Ablated nozzle shape and $SF_6$-PTFE mixture vapor affect the performance of an self-blast circuit breaker. After a number of tests, nozzle in circuit breaker is disassembled, a section of ablated nozzle is investigated precisely. Using computational fluid dynamics, the conservation equation for the gas and temperature, velocity and electric fields within breaker is solved. Before applying a section model, developed program is verified with experimental data. Performance of ablated nozzle shape is compared with original model through analysis program.

As a part of recent CO2 emission reduction studies in the concrete industry with active use of concrete admixtures with low basic unit of CO2 emission such as blast furnace slag (BFS), basic unit of CO2 emission by SBFS was computed in order to assess CO2 emission by reinforced concrete building with smart blast furnace slag (SBFS). In addition, SBFS concrete was applied to the subject building for assessment of CO2 emission during material production step among construction steps. Life cycle CO2 emission assessment on the subject building was classified into 7cases according to mix ratio of BFS and SBFS.
