In this paper, we propose a novel MAS algorithm to reduce the amount of signaling and data traffics. To notify an MIPv6 host of the proposed operation, we design a new binding registration function into the MAG, and suggest the modified RS and RA messages. The binding registration in the MAG instead of the LMA is accomplished to support the PMIPv6, whereas a 1-bit N flag in the RS and RA message indicates where the MAG supports the PMIPv6 or not. Our proposed algorithm has the advantage for MIPv6 hosts in the PMIPv6 network in the viewpoints of network utilization and performance. To show the verification and better performance of the MAS algorithm, we evaluate the amount of traffic and its related performance, and compares those with performance of the normal PMIPv6. These results show that our proposed algorithm can operate efficiently and give better performance for MIPv6 hosts in the PMIPv6 network.

This paper presents the digital signal processing submodule of a 100Base-TX Ethernet receiver to support 100Mbps at TP cable channel. The proposed submodule consists of programmable gain controller, timing recovery, adaptive equalizer and baseline wander compensator. The measured Bit Error Rate is less than $10^{-12}BER$ when continuously receiving data up to 150m. The proposed signal processing submodule is implemented in digital circuits except for PLL and amplifier. The performance improvement of the proposed equalizer and BLW compensator is measured about 1dB compared with the existing architecture that removes BLW using errors of an adaptive equalizer. The architecture has been modeled using Verilog-HDL and synthesized using samsung $0.18{\mu}m$ cell library. The implemented digital signal processing submodule operates at 142.7 MHz and the total number of gates are about 128,528.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) systems have many advantages. However, OFDM systems are much affected by a nonlinear distortion because those systems have a high peak to average power ratio(PAPR) value. A selected mapping technology was suggested to reduce a PAPR value. The technology does not have data loss but receivers need side information to know modified phase sequence. Therefore, side information causes decreased a transmission efficiency. In this paper, we suggest a blind SLM receiver using a cross correlation technology. This receiver does not require side information. The proposed blind SLM receiver calculates sums of cross-correlation between transmitted pilot signals multiplied by each phase sequence and received pilot signals. So, this receiver detects side information which has a maximum sum cross-correlation value. We compared our proposed SLM receiver to a conventional blind SLM receiver through bit error rate(BER) and side information error rate(SIER) performances. Simulation results show that the proposed SLM receiver has improved BER and SIER performances than the conventional SLM receiver.
The climate change has become one of the most important global issues that require global responses. As one of the leading contributions to climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and Ballast Water Management have attracted growing attention from the international community. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) received its mandate to regulate International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments in 2004. The convention requires that every vessel must be equipped Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) in 2017. Based on this situation, this study aims to analyze the present state and data from the exports of BWMS(HS842121). The results show that as the most leading country in the field, Germany has the largest market share (14.33%), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index 1.76, and Trade Specialization Index (TSI) 0.636 in the world. The two other leading countries such as Denmark and Netherlands follows the ability of Germany. The Korean market share of HS842121 shows market share (5.98%) which is a bit bellow high compared to other countries. However the RCA index (1.85) presents the state of comparative advantage. In addition, Korea's TSI index (0.453) indicates that it is in the state of export specialization. The Korean BWMS and Shipbuilding industry maintain the state of export specialization. They are also in the state of import specialty. For Korea to raise its export competitiveness and to ensure shipbuilding competitiveness, it is necessary to intensify supporting systems and related policies.

While ATM technology results in considerable advantages(less overhead, increased throughput) in an optical networks, It causes severe problems(single and burst error) when ATM is transmitted over an error-prone channel, such as wireless link. In this paper we describe our investigation on ATM over wireless network. we first evaluate performance of ATM data transmission over a wireless link. Secondly we analyze performance improvements of Forward Error Correction(FEC) or ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest) scheme applied to wireless ATM link and provide performance comparison between FEC and ARQ through the use of packet error rate and throughput. Lastly we suggest error control architecture to overcome the impact of the bit error characteristics of a wireless link on wireless ATM network.

In this paper, we analyze the coverage of asynchronous IMT(International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000 reverse link with a MUD(Multi-User Detector) system. The MUD system is utilized to increase the coverage of reverse link. Also we have considered a propagation loss model and an interference effect. Because it is very difficult that we have calculated the interference accurately, so a fractional cell loading factor(F) is used in this paper. We make use of a MUD efficiency($\beta$) to analyze the performance; this efficiency is presented the MAI of reduction. A simulation utilizes Hata's model, we calculated the coverage according to voice and data services. In this paper, we have assumed that the frequency of carrier has 800 MHz or 1.9 GHz, and a bandwidth is decided 3.84 MHz. We have predicted the performance of actual system by the analysis of capacity and coverage.

Purpose: Patient quality of life (QoL) may be severely disrupted following distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer. This issue should be addressed to improve postoperative care. Materials and Methods: QoL data from the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire, and its gastric cancer-specific module, were administered to 202 patients preoperatively, and 5 years postoperatively. Patients were classified into subgroups based on their answers to each questionnaire item: group I (good), answering "not at all"; group II (fair), answering "a little"; group III (poor), answering "quite a bit" or "very much." Results: At 5 years post-operation, the proportion of patients in group III on the functional scales ranged from 4.3% to 5.7%. The proportions of patients in group III with fatigue, insomnia, diarrhea, and financial difficulties were 8.9%, 9.0%, 11.5%, and 9.1%, respectively. The proportions of patients in group III with anxiety, dry mouth, body image concerns, and hair loss were 12.8%, 10.5%, 9.9%, and 12.6%, respectively. These proportions were less than 5% for other QoL symptom scales/items and for the gastric cancer-specific module. Conclusions: Most patients reported good or fair QoL following surgery. However, symptom management of fatigue, insomnia, diarrhea, anxiety, dry mouth, body image, and hair loss should be specifically targeted for long-term patient care in approximately 10% of patients.
In this paper, we propose a method to accelerate BWN based on FPGA with limited resources for embedded system. Because of the limited number of logic elements available, a single computing unit capable of handling Conv-layer, FC-layer of various sizes must be designed and reused. Also, if the input feature map can not be parallel processed at one time, the output must be calculated by reading the inputs several times. Since the number of available BRAM modules is limited, the number of data bits in the BWN accelerator must be minimized. The image classification processing time of the BWN accelerator is superior when compared with a embedded CPU and is faster than a desktop PC and 50% slower than a GPU system. Since the BWN accelerator uses a slow clock of 50MHz, it can be seen that the BWN accelerator is advantageous in performance versus power.

In this paper, we proposed an approach to efficiently compress and transmit multiresoltion 3D lariat models for multimedia and very low bit rate applications. A personal facial model is obtained by a 3D laser digitizer, and further re-quantized at several resolutions according to different scope of applications, such as animation, video game, and video conference. By deforming 2D templates to match and re-quantize a 3D digitized facial model, we obtain its compressed model. In the present study, we create hierarchical 2D lariat wireframe templates are adapted according to facial feature points and the proposed piecewise chainlet affined transformation(PACT) method. The 3D digitized model after requantization are reduced significantly without perceptual loss. Moreover the proposed multiresoulation lariat models possessed of hierarchial data structure are apt to be progressively transmitted and displayed across internet.
The stress-strain relationship of soil is dependent on a number of factors such as soil type, density, stress level and stress path. Th accurate stress-stain relationship can be predict using a constitutive model incorporated all influencing factors. In this study, an isotropic compression-expansion test and a series of drained conventional triaxial tests with several stress paths were performed on Baekma river sand to investigate parameters characteristics of Lade's single work hardening model depending on the stress path.. Based on test results, the parameters of yield function (h, ${\alpha}$) are not much influenced by stress level and stress path, the these parameters do affect a little bit of stress-strain behavior. The parameters h and ${\alpha}$ are closely related to failure criterion ${\eta}_1$, they can be replaced by failure criterion parament. We also observed that predicted values from the Lade's single hardening constitutive model are well matched with the observed data.
